I seem to recall the whole tariff thing started when Donald wanted to even up the 200 billion dollar subsidy to Canada which doesn’t exist, then he chose the immigration and fentanyl crisis that doesn’t exist … can’t wait to hear the next excuse. I would love to hear the real reason for this, and we will one day. I have no doubt that we Canadians will survive this nonsense as we always do.

Trump supports a dictator who lets children and babies die and wants to wipe out an entire country. He is opposing all of his allies for Putin. Putin will get money again. He is sacrificing parts of Ukraine and Putin has no need to fear punishment. Many countries were allies of the USA. We fully supported the USA after September 11th. People in the EU also died for you! I liked the USA very much, I spent my vacation there but I will not do that anymore, I will no longer buy American products. A dictator is being supported here and all our help to Ukraine for the past 3. years will be wasted! Trump will also restructure the USA so that he is the only king and no one controls him anymore. I love Canada. Canada will always be our ally, but there appears to be some “one sided-ness”. I believe the biggest issue being drugs coming across our border. \nAs someone who lives on the border, we see many Canadian cars coming to the US to shop. They even wear clothes that they throw away in dumpsters so they can wear their new clothes back to Canada without having to pay tax. \nI wish they wld accommodate to our requests.\n\nP.S. The speech of Mr Trudeau, the way Canadians have shown solidarity for one another, today it all puts my country, The US, to shame. I am ashamed of what my government is doing and I am disgusted with the people doing it. In Mr Trump’s first term, as eclipsed as they were by the many many many actions and attitudes he imposed on us that embarrassed and hurt us as a country, there was the rare occasional decision I could at least understand even if I did not support it. Since taking office literally not one thing he has done has made sense to me as an American. I grew up in Commerce Twp Michigan. I visited Canada regularly and, even as crime from Detroit poured across the border into Canada, Canadians always treated us with respect and welcome. I’ve talked with a lot of Swedes the last weeks and large majority of them are done with the US. People are finding alternatives to mAmerican products and services and one family told me that they won’t proceed with their plans to spend this summer in Florida. Sweden supports Canada and we would love to increase trade and other kinds of exchange with you as we are permanently leaving the totally unreliable and morally corrupted rough state USA.

And we have got ourselves into this Liberal government purgatory (thank God the Federal NPD have been decimated over it…at least there is some justice), so that we write cheques to make us feel good and look good despite that we can’t afford it. I loved the speech of PM Trudeau- but one thing he kept saying is wrong. Our government did not do this - One man did this via executive orders. He does not care who he hurts. He does not care about the American people. Trump only cares about himself and his relationship with Mother Russia and Putin. TRUMP doesn't want peace. He is thriving on the chaos that he and Musk are initiating. Trump needs to be impeached immediately but our Congresmaen and women, who are supposed to represent their populations are too scared to do anything other than what Trump tells them to do. Our Government is supported to have a Check and Balance function, but none of the branches have the guts to stand up to TRump. I really believe that Trump's American first policy is to end up as America ALONE.

This is just a sampling of what happens when you elect an official do the highest office in the land while this individual Donald Trump is Holden s official position as dog catcher is out of his ability. The issue on fentanyl, is a intoxicant that will not and cannot be defeated. This is a total failure on the government's inability to protect its own citizens that is their number one job.. The only solution that I have heard that remotely makes any sense is the Cato institute conclusion that the wisest route to go is completely legalization with age restrictions. While this may not be the desired outcome it's the only one that I see that makes any sense whatsoever it seems that when a solution like this offered so many individuals who have no gravitas in this matter will come back to the same nonsensical bulshit that they're going to stop the flow that is absolutely impossible. However we will continue on that course and we will continue to fail. The Cato Institute was initially funded by the Koch brothers a extremely conservative organization that gets together a group of the brightest and the best in trying to determine what is the best solution.the Koch brothers were the group that invented the tea party I would love for anybody who disagrees with this post. I would like anybody who thinks that this is a far-fetched idea ,all I ask is that if you disagree with the finding that it should be legal with age restrictions if you disagree I would like to hear a solution that you have in mind that you think is better than the Cato Institute finding. I am under the impression that you do not have anything that remotely resembles a solution to this terrible problem. Right off the bat, with uality control, you'll stop hundreds of thousands of deaths. All of the issues that are being dealt with are just so screwed up because we've already been through this before. After making a constitutional amendment to ban the manufacturing of alcohol it was reversed and I hope that the country realize that we cannot win this battle with the same mindset. The only reason why fentanyl is such a dangerous intoxicant is because there's no quality control. The DEA does not remotely live up to its mission statement and has failed every year since that policy was put in place. Gotta disagree w/ Mr. Trudeau on one point, when he says Trump is 'very smart'--NO. Otherwise, Trudeau's speech was spot-on, and I love and respect Canada even more now. Most of us Americans cannot be proud of our country; we are held captive by a wannabe dictator and his stooges who are self-serving, vindictive, and UNpatriotic! To gather some semblance of sanity, I am taking the family on a Canadian Rockies tour in late spring--am tempted to not return home again.

Put aside party political differences, we CANADIANS will stick together, and to fight together. Average Americans, please listen: We are reluctant to have a fight, but we are not afraid of fighting and for sure we will hit back when we are insulted, threathened, imtimidated and got the 1st blow on our face without any reason. I have been a pro-America citizen for almost 79 years, but our administration is dead wrong. Canada is the best neighbor we could possibly have, and we have slapped them in the face. This administration loves authoritarian leaders and dismisses the interests of our long-time friends and allies. Why would we ever believe our president when he promises to make life better for us. He does not care for any of us, unless we are one of the few with money and/or power.

As a European American, I can truly say that I am embarrassed, shocked and disgusted by the actions of the Trump administration against our allies and partners across the world. 99.9% of American loves Canada and I am one of them!!! Stay strong because we have always overcome evil together!!!

The people who killed Eric, my loved one who was murdered in the World Trade center, came in through Canada; not that I'm upset blut it.
