A somewhat depressing video, because it's an actually accurate portrait of the city, as it is. Toronto and Canada as a whole is governed by politicians and bureaucrats, who rely on experts opinion of what could be, if x,y,z all come together as envisioned. These pixie dust ideas are often aspirational, but sadly lack a base in reality. Slogans and cheerleading don't make things happen. Rarely is there enough funding to support implementation of these grandiose ideas, and somehow these same leaders ensure they get a chunk before anyone else, cause they have a standard of living to maintain. They just really feel for the pain and suffering of those who are not them. Toronto and Vancouver used to be Canadian examples, that those of us didn't live or want to live there could still be proud of. These cities also were viewed as examples to follow by other Canadian population centres. So the same issues keep reoccurring, because in abstract theory they could work. You do t have time so move fast and be strategic.\n1. Constantly apply for jobs until you get an offer. Not all companies will employ you on tourist visa cos you don’t have LMIA. If you must, look for rural areas who lack workforce and are willing to employ people no matter their status.\n\n2. Asylum (this should be your last option, it’s not advisable cos it’s 50/50). If you’re rejected, you’ll be deported.\n\n3. Private colleges. These guys are willing to admit students cos they need students. Some even give instant admission.\nOnce you get admission, apply for a student visa. You can change the school later for a better school.\nIf you must, try to do your Medicaid and apply for study visa before your flight to Canada. \nThis way, you won’t be committing a crime and it’s easy to get the visa.

Québécoise here. We Canadians seem to forget that there is as much racism in Canada as in the US. We just like to hide it behind a smile for some reason… I’ve lived in northern Michigan for 4years when I was in high school and college. As a Canadian that immigrated from the US over 50 years ago, NO WAY! I still have relatives there, even a brother who lived most of his life in Canada - from age 10 to 50 - lives in the US, and I won't even visit him. Find a lot of the area where you would go as a tourist, full of arrogant a'holes (including my brother). If have, to admit that I do enjoy watching your channel, and I am sure that there are a lot of nice people in small town America, but I have to agree with many of the submissions you read. After comparing the following from country to country: Women's reproductive rights. LGBTQ acceptance. Health Care. Gun violence. Overt racism. Criminal misconduct of politicians. Cleanliness of cities. Infrastructure degradation. To name a few. I have to admit Canada is the better choice. We (Canada) are not perfect and have to still work on making our country better for all who live in Canada. I am a 72 year old male and to this day I thank my lucky stars that both sets of my grandparents immigrated to Canada and not the USA. I also know that I am very fortunate to have lived my entire life here in Canada. I have travelled to many places outside of Canada and have always been well received by the people of those countries and appreciate the good reputation we (Canadians) have around the world.

hello, Canadian here. i believe that ( personally ) if Canada had the same freedom for weapons as the USA, things wouldn't go as bad as the USA. or wouldn't change at all. the main problem, which americans at large still refuses to admit it seems, or at least the loudest ones, is that it's a culture problem, not a gun problem. the whole of USA culturally is kinda rotten with way more chances for someone to just crack and go nuts, or commit a shitty act out of desperation, anything. while in Canada, we have people and gorups to help take care of this. we do not bankrupt people by making them seek help at hospital, and so on. the whole socio-economic of the USA is to blame for this. \n\nin my humble, basement dwelling person opinion as someone who thought about this subject for a while.

The dark history you speak of with regards to it’s treatment of indigenous people is a reflection of how human people have treated each other since the dawn of time. This mistreatment is being acknowledged in Canada, and a commitment to redress the wrongs is under way. My husband is from Canada. We are black. We still know many people living in Canada. We are both black. I must say that its 10 times better in Canada than the US so I'm not sure that this is categorically true. Racisim is everywhere but overall its waaaaaay better than the US. Not that many people in the developed world are shopping for an alternative country. So I imagine most Americans and most Canadians will be content with their nation of birth. But as a Canadian, I have to admit I'm a bit scared of the US. The level of violent crime down there is such that _many_ (not all) people feel they need guns for personal security. American prison rates testify to a level of desperation and alienation that is _not_ appealing to me. I don't want to live somewhere where owning a deadly weapon seems like a sensible idea! Also, as a struggling creative/entertainment person, I can't guarantee I'll be consistently earning good money – there are plenty of lean times in my biz. I don't want to be repeatedly worrying about my health coverage disappearing, whenever work dries up. I've never had that type of anxiety in Canada, and I sure appreciate that. Btw, although the Canadian health system is a long way from perfect, I've always managed to get appropriate care, according to my needs, quickly enough, at no cost to myself. And currently, I really like my GP _and_ my specialists!

I doubt Canada is a stable government, freely elected and least corrupt countries is the world. You might want to consider the least corrupt counties, as Christine Freeland has publicly stated the did not like what they saw, they turned off the Canadian economy when they liked what they saw, they turned it back on. Also the freely elected part, as it is known by many the the CCP helped re-elect the Liberals for a few elections, starting in 2015, I have to admit that they helped them become only a minority elected country but the NDP made them a majority. As far as a stable government, I have heard the Justin Trudeau for the first time as Prime Minister of Canada, wears a bullet proof vest and has his protection team openly carry aggressive weapons to protect him. You can learn about the job market, or come if you are invited for an interview by a Canadian employer, but not apply with the intention of not going back home, if you are entering with a tourist visa.\n\nIt is possible for foreign citizen young adults to work in Canada in certain sectors like tourism, but this doesn't put you on the path to citizenship. \n\nThe best way immigrate is is to learn about the job needs (like healthcare) and to get those qualifications in your country, if possible. You should also avoid colleges that are set up for foreign students to get their student visa, and which don't have any Canadian students (of which there are many). The government is making it harder for these graduates to stay in the country. Moreover, if you are not well educated, you won't make enough money to be able to afford the high cost of living in a large city like Toronto or Vancouver. You would be better to be a licensed electrician or tradesperson and work in more remote areas or central Canada. Canada admits many immigrants very year, and if you are not well qualified, you will be competiting with these workers for work, with lower pay and job security, in sectors like food service and day-care.

I just wish that Canada must not admit these illegal migrants. It's a financial burden to Canada and the criminal activities are increasing day by day.

I was born and raised on the east coast of Canada, lived in Vancouver and visited Montréal Edmonton, Calgary with the acception of Winnipeg I’ve seen every major city in Canada. \n\nI will always have pride for my country and love for my family there but it has changed dramatically since 2010.\n \nI will say the transportation in Canadian cities are better and so is the crime and the food but you have to drive a minimum of an hour to get anywhere outside the city, your not leaving that city without a car and good luck surviving without a car outside the city, and VIA rail is way overpriced. The GO train is nice though.\n\nLiving in America it has changed a lot since covid too though people are a lot more desperate and you can feel it but people are too prideful to admit, where in Canada people are struggling and they dress and look terrible and fail to dress nice because there is less prideful.\n\nCanadians are not nice people they are passive aggressive and will not got out of their way to help you most of the time (modern day) kind of like Californians.\nThe east coast Americans are rude and trashy but they will help you if you show respect. The socioeconomic flaws are much difficult to compare considering the very foundations that birthed America as well as its intricate and dense population. There are variety of implications that comes to accommodating a diverse population of 380 million which is 10 times the population of Canada (these can also be structural). The rent in Montreal is not as high relative to major urban cities in America simply because of the demand. People simply do not want to live in Montreal at the same rate that they do for places like San Francisco and New York. Moreover, places like New York and San Francisco, (this can also include Toronto/Vancouver), have rigorous rent controls as well as zone restriction laws that limits the capacity for home builders to produce affordable housing, (especially when compared to Quebec). I live in Canada, but I even I must admit that economic success and freedom is much higher in the U.S. Name me another Western country with more african Billionaires/Millionaires than America? Canada is immensely reliant on Government to regulate trade and commerce and due to our lack of entrepreneurial spirit, I expect that we will remain a commodity-based economy for decades. The problem is people come to this country with dreams and expectations only to see the realities of living in Canada. In my opinion their is racism but its covert its covered up with passive aggression. Ontario the G. T. A is ridiculously expensive and peoples income isn't going up. Toronto very expensive. When i went to Canada for my studies in 2015 at Fleming College, the class had only four international students. Three Indians and one Nigerian.\nIn 2017, the same class admitted 100+ Indian International students and 3 Canadian students.\nI left Canada in 2016.\nIt's not worth spending so much money to live in a Tundra, just to pay taxes.

This gave me the impression that Canada was a country that slaves could escape to, to find freedom. It’s astounding and distressing that we are not taught the full truth of history. (Another recent revelation for me: Columbus never actually landed on the shores of continental America. The distortions and omissions we’ve been subjected to in our so-called “education”!)

I agree with everything you have said in this video. I've lived in Canada for over 10 years and must admit, i don't feel at home here at all. I feel Canada is overrated for no reason. House prices are insane, it's almost impossible to buy housing in any big city in Canada anymore. I agree with a lot ppl, the healthcare system here is poorly managed, with long waiting hours if you have an emergency (personal experience). As someone living in a big city in Ontario, it feels like everyone is just busy chasing money. Nobody has time for friends, chilling, etc...Sometimes i feel i have to book an appointment with my own friends if i want them to hang out with them. As an immigrant myself, i must say I hate the mass-immigrant policy that the government is pushing. The neighbourhood i live in, has changed face/demographics so many times... Every group sticks to their own and it feels you'll never be able to adapt as it keeps changing so fast... I also don't like how Canada is pushing their far left agenda down the throat of everyone, with being Politically Correct, promoting LGBQT to underage kids (i don't have any issue with what ppl do in their bedroom, i just have issue with the promotion of it), minority this & that (even though im considered a minority myself). If you come from a middle income country, you'd soon realise Canada ain't so much better than where you come from esp if you have education, healthcare and jobs available. I'm only waiting to win that lotto max now, so i can just return back home and live a quiet peaceful life.

Thanks for making this video. After nearly 13 years as of Jan 1st 2022, I'll be leaving Canada on a one-way ticket; not to my country of origin, but further into new ventures.\n\nIt's been a slog to become a citizen and try and make life work here. It's a good place to be successful financially if you make sound choices, and then to live a fairly quiet, isolated life. If all you want is to live within your own ethnic community and have a better quality of life, it's a good place.\n\nUnfortunately, it's never had enough culture or meaning for me. Life feels pretty empty no matter how much money you make. The national identity being based around home-ownership feels extremely depressing to me.\n\nAnd you're both on point about the reserved, passive-aggressive nature of Canadians. I've become like that too now. It's pretty obvious that it costs us dearly; people are unable to be genuinely warm, to take risks and form real friendships. Everything feels surface-level because no one risks taking the steps that might even be a bit of intrusion into each other's lives that is the signal of the start of a close friendship. I'm sick of the surface relationships I've had here.\n\nAnd the wholesale import of U.S. narratives with complete ignorance of our own realities. Most Canadians think they live in the U.S. and seem unable to name a single important issue in their own province or country. It all depends what condition you are living in Pakistan. I like this Ashir but he has strong grudges against pakistan and has strong biased opinion. I came to canada in 2009 with family. I can tell you that those days were a little different less racism and pretty much no islamophobia now there is even if you admit it or not. If your daughter or wife does cover her head they can be in trouble out alone. Economy in atleast alberta and other provinces too is on decline. If you want to make good money medical fields are good like pharmacy nursing related rest is bad. My wife was a doctor in Pakistan cleared all her papers but didnt get any residency as of yet.

Watched a lot of your videos. One thing which have bothered me is that you always have some objection or problem with the Pakistani System which you experienced and yet you chose to RUN away from it, instead of fighting. There are a lot many people who are not as power holder as you were but they fight and take their life share from the same system in Pakistan.\n\nI do appreciate your videos where you are guiding people about different things in Canada, but please stop criticizing Pakistan in your each and every video for every tits and bits you have been through.
