I am a Republican leaning American who did not vote for Trump (never voted for him), and I urge every country to stand up to bullying tactics of Trump. I am relatively rich, so this fluctuating market or rising egg prices will not affect me; poorer people than me will be affected greatly. And ironically, these poorer people voted for Trump. I just don't understand it because if I am a poor American, I would have voted for Bernie Sanders because at least the guy has some integrity unlike most politicians. And I am sorry to say I would have voted for Kamala Harris if she were not so dumb. Even though I lean Republican in that my values align more with Republican ideals, I consider whether a candidate has strong integrity and found none in Trump and Kamala Harris.

I never thought I would ever say I don't stand with my country on this matter... Why is the our government allowing Donny to destroy our relationship with our allies

His mistake in this speech was calling Trump smart. Why would he say that!?!? Trump is not smart.\nUS citizen here, and I’m all for every country standing against the Trump administration, even at our detriment.

I will never know, but I would love to see who buys what stocks while the market is down. Which insiders purchase what? And then -- what, of those purchases (crypto or otherwise), soars when all of this gets resolved (because it will)?

It's simple replace 1.5 million jobs we stand to loose with factories here in Canada with products we would have bought from the state's. There r the jobs back. Then make deals with other countries and in 4 years when Trump is done and the state's want to work with us with tariffs again say sorry we have other partners don't have the extra supplies. It would have been better to call the move “ill-advised”. Referring to POTUS by first name and saying it was “dumb” is just going to provoke DJT who everyone, fans and critics alike, knows is vain and does not have the humility to accept insults. Just like Mexico they said they would secure their borders to help stop the flow if illegal immigrants, drugs, gangs and terrorists into the USA... THEY DID NOT. All these years US has a trade deficit of 1 trillion dollars every year. With tariffs we could have recovered 250 billion every year. That is a lot of money. Currently every American owes $110,000 because of the accumulated debt of 36.5 trillion.\n\nJustin, how long are we supposed to bend back wards while US has a trade deficit of trillion dollar over the past 20 years. Why cant to you balance the imports and exports so that you don't have to keep taking advantage of USA. CNN did not see the trade deficit every single year for 20 years? what are they talking about? Our news channels have just become political entities rather than looking for the greater good of the Americans. If tariffs were there in 2024, US would have gotten back 15 billion dollar revenue from Canada and Mexico would have paid 46 billion to USA. I have never felt more proud to be a Canadian, it’s a good feeling, I was almost brought to tears earlier thinking about it. And it’s interesting to note that it is overriding the fear of the consequences of Donald’s actions. Here’s where I can’t help but think of you, our fellow North Americans. The good people of the USA, I hold you in my heart. For you don’t have that boost that comes from feeling proud of your country. I can’t say I’ve ever known what that is like. It seems it would leave you gutted, and lost. Can you even describe the feeling, the experience? It has to be one of those things that you can’t know until you experience it. But look around your house, I bet most of it says - Made In China. Imagine voting for Trump over inflation while he was saying he would use tariffs and people thinking it wouldn't affect them. So naive. Trump is an agent of chaos who is anathema to everything this country stands for, and it's self-evident by his actions. We are a country who is strong because of our friends around the world and no one will trust this country when we keep putting an idiot in office who doesn't honor former president's agreements. I’m an Indigenous American here, I say if Canada was really our friend then they would understand that they have been taking advantage of our countries kindness for too long and it’s time they step up.. If us trying to do something good for our own country for one time instead of everybody else and it’s a problem like this then maybe we weren’t friends anyway.. Trump is smart. it's blackmail, he scares you with 25% tarrifs. then he will say, we can deal now for 15% or 10 BUT you need to give me this and give me that like minerals etc... if we dont well then our Canadien compagnies will either shut down or they will have to move to the States and than will give new jobs in the States. lol there you go win win for the States.
