When living in the USA in a small college town the scariest part of Halloween was the police in their riot gear for no reason at all. \nCame back to Canada with American husband and we both like it better.\nAlso if I was a Mom in the USA I would be terrified to send my child to school. Tyler there are 600 mass shootings in the U.S each year which is almost 2 a day per average and while they do not all take place in schools, how many mass shootings are tolerable? As long as Americans like yourself dismiss all the data to the contrary the U.S will continue to have the tragedies it does, When you look up mass shootings which is where there are more than 2 victims per incident you'll find Canada doesn't even register in those statistics because where the U.S has 600 mass shootings a year Canada hasn't had 600 in its last 100 years. So that is why Canadians mention school shootings as a reason, because the potential is real for it to happen. It is preventable tragedy but Americans as a whole need to want that change, until it does the rest of the world will always bring up gun violence and school shootings when the U.S is in the discussion. The prices of fresh produce will shoot up - but Mexican produce is covered in pesticides that are banned in the USA. You don't hear about it much in mainstream media but they use the most toxic and cancer-causing chemicals on those berries, grapes, and veggies you are eating from Mexico. You’ve had so many mass shootings in the United States over the past 10 years where children have been murdered in schools. They have been cities and towns that are small, isolated communities the one recently in Uvalde, Texas. Is a good prime example. Are you not even aware what is going on in your own country. I think you better concentrate little less on what’s going on in Canada and maybe learn about your own country. Your country is a total mess maybe not in your tiny little community where you live. There have been 58 school shootings in the United States in 2024. 58. And nothing has been done about it. I know you say you live in a small town, but Sandy Hook was a small town; Columbine was a small town. It can happen anywhere where there’s guns. ?

I have travelled most of America and like them a lot. There are some things which stun me however for such a wealthy and advanced country. 1. It seems many care more about the unborn then the already born. Some want to ban abortion but don't dare try to change gun laws that allow thousands to die in mass shootings. Insane to most of the world. The electoral system instead of just the popular vote. Having a for profit system so big pharma, doctors and insurance companies get rich instead of paying through the tax system.

I have to say my son and daughter in law lived in a community just out of Houston. they loved it .They had veery good health insurance through my sons employer. their baby girl was born in Houston and they were very happy there. But they moved home when their girl was ready to go to school because of the school shootings.

I was shocked when this lady said some of her family have been here for years yet instead of her wanting them to have the chance to become citizens she'd rather they get deported! I am so sorry, as a native Canadian, that Indians are feeling attacked. Please understand this is the result of runaway immigrations with no real screening. The government quadrupled immigration, hundreds of percents increase in students, asylum seekers, and illegal entries, even though there was already a housing crisis, and a completely predictable doctor shortage due to aging out. Covid was just starting to get under control but many still needed treatment and BOOM, the population went from 30 million in 2014 to over 40 million in a decade, most of it in the last 3 years. We native Canadians are scratching our heads, we don't understand what the Liberals are trying to accomplish but to create suspicion and racism between groups of people -- divide and conquer? Maybe...but ultimately it is a complete lack of planning! Still 99 percent of Canadian born do not blame Iindividual ndians for this. I've lived and worked with Indians my entire life of over 60 years. There are now Indian gangs, particularly Punjabi gangs because of lack of oversight, and while they are small they are constantly committing crimes, selling drugs, shooting people all in the last few years. I hear gun shots nightly in my ethnically mixed neighbourhood, and we are all afraid to walk at night. Unfortunately the people arrested are mostly from continental India. Some have a political agenda that has to do more with India than Canada, so they recruit young Indo-Canadian children from good families and tell them they are being oppressed, and next thing these kids are acting as drug mules and enforcers, being told that they are fighting systemic racism. As for dancing and music, I love the cultural events, we are happy to see and even take part in Indian cultural events. IWhen I do hear people blaming India and Indians it breaks my heart too! Hopefully together we can fix this. Our governments are at odds, and I hate this -- they need to respectfully talk and work this out. You are good neighbours, good people, you are welcome here and have helped build Canada in so many positive ways. ?

Re concerns about school shootings. Based on January 2009 to May 2018 school shootings in the US vs Canada and factoring in the 2024 populations a student in the US is over 70 times more likely to experience a school shooting that a student in Canada, and if we use the low number of 10 deaths per shooting, a student in the US is over 700 times more likely to be killed in a school shooting that a student in Canada, and these numbers don't include those injured. The numbers used are not ideal, but even at half of that it is horrendous. \nAs far as choosing where to live to avoid a school shooting, I don't believe that any school has suffered more than 1 shooting, and I don't think that any of the schools that experienced a shooting were on anyone's top 1,000 list for where the next school shooting would occur.

I don't know of a country that quotes your salary after tax because it depends on many factors. One should also remember that taxes cover much of the safety nets you may depend upon at some point in your life - unlike many other countries such as the US.\nThe Canadian government already can supply your income documents that you can download and even supply tax software for you to use.\nThankfully there is indeed a difference in culture between US and Canada - who would seriously like living in a country where guns are everywhere causing more than two mass shootings per day.

Grass is always greener on the other side. US has more violent crime, school shootings, homeless, drugs, and inaccessible health care. US foreign policy and economic strength make it both a leader and a target in all kinds of conflicts, which damages the security and future outlook for an average person. Not to mention the clowns and criminals ruling the federal government and running for president.. European countries have their own issues, Asian countries their own (they have greater economic inequality and sexism, among other issues).\n\nI still consider Canada one of the best places to live. I have a good job and a good life here, I feel secure. Yes, there are things I don't like as well, that's why I earn in Canada and travel extensively to get the best of all countries.\n\nAnd finally, the reason real estate is so expensive in Canada is because of how many people want to live here. It's obvious – if Canada stopped being one of the top immigration destinations, real estate would stop growing in value so much.

YGood day. For from context I'll reveal a little about me. I am around 27% Indian, 34% northern African people which is around 61% combined. My other ancestry includes Wales, Sweden, Norway Scottish and Irish, Hebrew/ jew as in from 12 tribes of Israel, However, the world calls me black Jamaican born. I live in small town with population under 41,000 people in northern Ontario Canada for past 21 years. I remember when I came here with company contracted to build and say very few black people mostly French African and some mixed black with some Chinese probably total under 20 people other than white or indigenous peoples. Over the years was steady increase of black, Chinese, Philippino, and my Indian doctor and his family to maybe total around 50 none white none indigenous peoples. Just before pandemic we had a large number of Indian students which was awesome to see considering my heritage as my grandmother on dad side was Indian. But a year before pandemic we noticed many started working in convenient stores and fast food places like most high school students do to save for college/university which was becoming a problem for Canadian students as some employers got incentives or cheaper labour to maximize profits. As pandemic rolled in so it seems more Indian students from other regions in Canada. So, Canada, Ontario, and small town I reside already had huge housing problems as some homes we even to be condemned and indigenous homeless from north increased crime rates and now we had students living beyond building code occupancy with shared living causing rentals to shoot up in prices as landlords became greedy and selfish. This small town of under 41,000 is by some estimates over 55,000 by increasing Indian students who for past 5 years fighting to get permanent residents even though they came as students which proves the goal was always invasion and coming as students was the ticket. If you and rest of new immigrants don't see the problem yet, I'll continue. 95% of taxis have Indian drivers, 98% food and other delivery Indian, 90%+ convenience and groceries, clothing and all stores 90%+ , vehicles on roads 70% Indian, my son barely got into college with 90%+ Indian population in college and his class is 2 white students, himself only mixed , and 2 Africans and 22 Indian students who cheats on a regular basis but professor afraid to confront as they are quick to call racism. But even bigger for me is these Indian students/new immigrants have no respect for the history of Canada and USA not knowing how indigenous peoples were raped tortured and murdered to take over this country and then enslaved African people to build this country while they raped tortured treat less than animals and still suffering with fighting for equal rights for over 400yrs while still being racially profiled and beaten and murdered by police officers because of this colonizers system. Now you come here and benefits from black and indigenous peoples struggles and claiming rights when you have not been fighting the battles with us or for us. Also, the criminal aspects of your community is not being taked about as well which includes extortion to businesses owned by Indians, car thefts, drug trafficking, human trafficking and other criminal activities. There's so much more than just saying you feel unloved by the people you're taking things from for their children and grandchildren and generations without showing any respect as that is defined as selfish.
