We have exactly the same problem here in the UK. Politicians talk tough on immigration but when they get in power and see the books, they open the borders.\n\nWhat do i mean by the books. Im talking of slowing down population growth which is unable to support paying pensions to old geezers...they have a change of heart. \n\nNobody likes immigration till when they are told that the pension purse dad and mom paid into when they were younger, is now no longer able to pay them after retirement. Hi guys..i want to explain 99% of people those are protesting belongs to indian province of Punjab. Most of them belongs to fudel families in Punjab and these people has become more problem making not only in canada but india also. In punjab these people block high way every second day to dictate their demands to goverment. 5:48 A few blocks away from that accident was my first home in Canada. I was shocked to see such a thing happening in a residential area. Many Indians may get offended, but Indians as a community play a majority role in the hatred Canadians have towards them. I am an Indian too, but it annoys me to no end to see the nuisance some Indians create. It brings a bad name to the whole community. But, they just don't care. Maybe the foreign students are unfairly being singled out due to the actions of fellow Indians whether immigrated or Canadian born.There are parts of our country where every time there are their are major organized crime busts involving drugs and shootouts and other activities the names involved in a large number of cases definitely have an east asian ring to them. We have enough homegrown criminals without importing more .

I am constantly annoyed by the following, but because I was born in Canada, I would be cancelled for saying the things you can. I am also Indian. Here’s the list that comes to mind. I might come back and edit this because I am sure there are things I am forgetting: \n\n- coughing into your elbow instead of your hands (literally watched a guy yesterday on the bus cough into his hands then put his hands onto the support bar)\n\n- Standing to the side and letting people off the train so you can get on instead of trying to walk through people who are trying to get off \n\n- Standing up and moving to the side to let somebody off on an inside seat of the bus. I have a butt. I don’t want to be squeezing by you \n\n- Taking off their backpack while standing on the bus and putting it between their legs\n\n- Moving to the back of the bus instead of crowding by the doors\n\n- Standing in lines to get onto the bus instead of crowding\n\n- Not littering. Either put your garbage in the bin or take it with you. Stop leaving it on the beach or on hiking trails.\n\n- Learn about hiking before attempting it. We have people going up in jeans and flip flops in the evening and getting stuck on mountains or injured. Some wear running shoes but they don’t have enough traction for the trail\n\n- Shovel the sidewalk in front of your home when it snows\n\n- Stop dousing yourself with axe body spray. \n\n- Understand that Indian food makes your clothes smell. It gives off oils that get stuck in everything. Open your windows and doors when cooking to minimize this as much as possible. You won’t be able to resolve this entirely but do what you can. The skytrain now smells like Indian food even when empty. \n\n- Stop riding your bikes and scooters on the sidewalk. It’s illegal and you have a responsibility to learn the rules \n\n- Stop hiring everybody that you know. Before nepotism was all about networking, but nowadays, it seems to be about hiring Indian people that you know. I am being discriminated by employers because they think I will do the same once I am in. Diversity in teams matters. Indian immigrants don’t seem to believe in this and think all that matters is the most qualified get the job. This is how you end up building facial recognition models that don’t recognize Black people. \n\n- You work at McDonald’s. Stop blasting Indian music. The McDonald’s by my place is blasting Indian music from the back and it overtakes the restaurant music. \n\n- In a work environment, even if it is all Indians, speak English. You ostracize your fellow colleagues and customers. You are also not improving your English skills by speaking in your primary language.\n\n- Make an effort to make non-Indian friends. It’s really intimidating even as an Indian to see large packs of Indian men\n\n- Learn how to swim. Every year we have multiple drownings at a lake because Indian people are unprepared for the reality of the water. This is a basic safety skill.\n\n- Stop staring at women. Even as an Indian woman I get stared at by these guys. Just stop. \n\n- Get headphones. Playing music or having conversations on speakerphone in public places is rude and very inconsiderate of others \n\n- Stop cheating. Whether that’s cheating the system or during classes. We grow up here and environment that even though we can cheat, the culture makes it completely unethical and you just don’t. The consequences are significant. I get it that you come from a country that doesn’t have enough resources for its population, but you give the entire Indian community a bad name when you cheat, lie, and do other unethical things.\n\n- Learn about Canadian values. The Canadian charter of rights and freedoms exists. Under it cases were won supporting equality for women, LGBTQ rights, etc. this is built into our constitution and it’s so ridiculous to come across people who don’t adopt Canadian values. Why choose Canada if you want a culture of what’s back at home. \n\n- I get it that our healthcare system needs to improve but am disappointing reading advocacy for private healthcare in Indian Facebook groups in Canada. Tommy Douglas was voted as the greatest Canadian. He is the founding father of our nationalized healthcare system. For the most part, Canadian are happy that we don’t have a healthcare system like the United States, where your access is determined by your employer or your income. We don’t go bankrupt when we have a health emergency. Go back to India or go to another place where you can pay for private healthcare, but stop advocating to transition our healthcare system to a private system. While you’re at it go look up who was determined to be some of the greatest Canadians.

I'm a white Canadian Nurse. This fellow spoke very well. I've always been pro immigration to mesh cultures and increase the population of this huge Country. However, in the past few years I'm made aware of the increasing violent gangs, theft, plagiarism, dishonesty, Indians getting managerial positions then only hiring Indians, cheating in schools, fabricated names.\nI have a rental and there was a time I chose what I thought a wonderful young Indian couple over 25 others looking. At 21 yrs old, she boasted how she and her Indian friends could trick the cash register at The Bay where she worked giving themselves 80% off everything. He worked for cash for another Indian. Im Canadian, moved to Taiwan in 2004. Never looked back. All the problems i hear now from canadians is the exact opposite here. Life is pretty easy, excellent services, fast and cheap in all sectors. I hope it gets better soon fir my fellow Canadians, though i have no idea how

Wow, so very much of what you said is exactly the same for me. I also have been researching and for years about other countries and the possibilities to live in another country. I have lived in several-working, studying and travelling and have recently chosen what I hope is my long-term country. I will share that I have learned not to say permanently because things can change and quickly-Thailand and income tax, Turkiye and cost of living, Cambodia and corruption and crime, etc. All the best to you and I am looking forward to hearing all your thoughts and decisions. Try London England, you’ll find it’s 3-4 times more expensive than Toronto. The cost of food is the same as England £4.50 for strawberries ($8.00), £3.00 ($6) for milk, and £5.50 ($9) for cheese but gas £2.90/L ($4.10/Litr) way more costly in England. It seems like it’s mostly Canadians who ONLY know Canada and immigrants who expected life to be magically easy and handed to them… ? ?‍♂️ I had to learn to be grateful living outside of Canada, the whole world is facing inflation right now! Europe and North America. But Canada isn’t as bad as many places. But then again, I’m not a quitter. The best way to survive is getting a good education and a stable and high in demand career. Back then my parents needed to prove and bring certain assets as part of the requirements. \n\nNow it seems they don’t really care, just come in with nothing, and the first thing to figure out is how to get the gov to pay out to sustain.\n\nHow this change came about… got no idea. \n\nAnd when looking at it culturally, that has changed as well. Being Chinese, we brought along our traditions. Those were celebrated and introduced to other Canadians, and it was a joyous thing. That being said, Canadian culture should come first and foremost. That should be understood. You are living underneath someone else’s roof, you should learn their culture and accept it. If not, why are you there.\n\nNowadays, it feels like it is a right to alter, and place your original culture above that of Canada’s. That’s just weird. Why did you move there in the first place if you can’t accept and get along with everyone else there.\n\nI decided to move back to Hong Kong because I didn’t like it, and for people that feel the same, get out of there. Simple fact is that the new immigrants she is talking about are opportunists and complainers. I am an immigrant of 50 years. I had three jobs by the age of 15. My father, was a determined immigrant from UK who brought us here. He died from Mesothelioma - A rare form of lung cancer directly linked to asbestos exposure. He often worked weekends in the schools where he taught. When they asked him to remove the asbestos from the ceilings of the schools he was happy to help. He, along with similar European immigrants at that time built the infrastructure, hospitals and everything that attracts new immigrants.\n\n My advice to my fellow Canadians? You are only as Canadian as you feel, Canadian as you assert, Canadian as you are prepared to sacrifice. Given enough time, the fairweather folks, previously from Abu Dhabi, Dubai or some other haven will sour and move on. Either that or daddy's dime will run out and they will be called back to New Delhi.

I am a Canadian and I have seen the sharp decline of Canada over the past decade which makes me very sad. According to many 'experts' they paint a dire picture of the nations future as the rate of inflation spirals out of control and we are buried beneath a mountain of debt. On the ground level, homelessness is an epidemic that the powers that should not be seem to want to sweep under the rug, while they race bait and spout off about woke ideology. They are more worried about transgender rights and castrating children while with anyone with eyes to see are witnessing the very breakdown of their society around them, people are dying in the streets from fentanyl overdose. My wife volunteered at our old church which catored to the homeless and I have known many that are no longer with us, nobody wants to acknowledge it because they do not want to face the fact that they are fellow human beings. In the end no one is better than any one else, it is all vanity.?\nIt would seem like we are run by lunatics with severe cognitive dissonance by the fact that we have mass immigration while are own \npopulation is suffering, I admit that mental health and addictions are potent variables that constitute the crisis, I am not niave to those facts. I myself have had long term Sobriety. But it is odd that only a decade ago, homelessness /addiction were problems confined to major cities like Vancouver and Toronto, and now we have tent cities in almost every town with a population of more than 20 thousand people. Canadian govt needs to control the how much of each race they gonna let in... on one hand the govt might have a population target but on the otherhand they should strive to study the demographic target or balabce n include it in ghrif plans .... at somd point the govt must be willing to compromise the population target to a healthy bslance of demographics.. it cant be free for all as there more thsn 1 billion indians & the majority of them will take any opportunity to jum in any 1st worl country... n indians im not being a racist but have one of the stongest culture n civilization... if u chose a majority of the immigrant pool from them.. they will a not adopt to the host country's culture but instead uphold their culture n eventually impose it bec they have numbers.. indians tend to favor fellow indians in recruiting for a job..... they have no qualms priotirizing an indian in india vs say a chinese in canada...once the indians get a hold of a company u will notice all the employees become indians in time.... its bec they indianize thd work culture, no longer inclusive n diverse.. also they practice nepotism (hiring friends, cowrkers, neighbors from theirprevious lives in india), they only talk their language among them, they keep info n knowledege related to work between them, they collaborate only with fellow indians, bangladeshi.. indians are like this anywhere. My wife and I moved to Canada about a decade ago from post-Soviet states, where we both grew up with not much more than our smarts and a strong work ethic. When we arrived, adapting/integrating Canadian values, especially work ethics, was a big deal for us. Those first few years were tough, we really had to hustle to improve our lives. Now, a decade later, we're both in pretty solid tech and science jobs. Our child had the incredible privilege of being born in Canada, and that fills me with immense joy.\n\nIt wasn't just our own grit that got us where we are now; we owe a lot to the incredibly welcoming Canadians we met along the way. I'm thankful every day for the awesome, kind-hearted folks we've met. Canadians are truly some of the best people around, and despite lots and lots of issues, Canada is one of the greatest countries in the world. I know this because I've lived and worked across many countries on many continents . We, Canadians, need to keep working to make it even better. I'm proud to be a Canadian immigrant. Hello fellow canadian!!

Especially people from India, they are everywhere. The thing is, Indians also brought unfair practice to Canada. When a local store got taken over by Indians, they tend to only hire fellow Indians and leave nothing for Canadians. If an Indian got promoted into HR in a company, that person will most likely to hire Indians only. There are so many unfortunate examples around us. We need to do something! Canadian should be first in Canada.

When these Indians moved here, they are not adapting themselves to Canadian culture, instead, they are forcing Canada to adapt their Indian culture. There are also a lot bad habits Indians have brought here to Canada with them. One day I was buying food in a local store, and these Indians who ran the store wanted to charge me extra (like 15-20% on top of labeled prices and taxes). I said no, they said I have to buy it because they can't put the food back. Then I demanded they honor the prices the items were labeled, and they said no again while trying to lie by stating the extra was part of tax. Then suddenly one of them snatched the money I was holding and trying to put in the register before I could react. Lucky I was faster and grabbed my money back. I left right after, but now when I think about it, I should've probably called the police there because that was literally attempted robbery. These Indians got no honesty in running businesses, and whenever a local business is taken over by them, it would be downhill for that business due to ethics and honesty issues. They also tend to only hire their fellow Indians, which is completely unfair to local Canadians. For example, I've worked with Filipinos before, they are decent people and they give everyone a fair chance during hiring regardless ethnicities. However Indians tend to only care for their own, and that is absolutely destroying Canadian societies. This is Canada, Canadians should be first, then immigrants, and lastly foreign workers/students.

Im an Indian from the state of Kerala. In my class from college nearly 20 of them came to study in Canada. Believe me these people who come are not that academically good the fun fact is that the academically brighter ones never went abroad all of them got a decent job in India itself.. I'm not saying that all of them coming are trash my ex gf now in Hamilton was extremely bright and got a decent job there..the basic issue is that Canadian government must have strict standards for foreign students Australia has it. As an Indian I feel your frustration feeling like stranger in your nation is very sad. ? Fellow Indians seeing this there is Malayalam saying that when you got to a land where they eat vipers you must eat it's middle portion. So try to become a Canadian don't turn Canada to India.
