Me and my husband were considering moving to Vancouver ten years ago. Soon we realized that we wouldn't be able to make enough money to support the same standard of living as we are used to in our home country, Hungary. This summer we spent our vacation in Toronto and Vancouver, and it was a wonderful experience. However, prices went up, housing is insane. Even though we both work in IT and have connections, it seems impossible to get a salary enough for rent and food, not to mention mobility. Healthcare is also a factor. \nI hope we'll be able to visit Canada again someday though.

Some of them use fake school certificates to enter the country. Others use illegal methods to obtain business loans and then shut down their businesses after receiving government funds. They have connections within the system. There are fake Indian colleges that process illegal students. My ex husband told me about one school. They get away with too many things, and sadly, those with legitimate certifications who are studying at authorized colleges and paying tuition are unfortunately affected. I'm sure there’s a process in place to ensure that not all will be deported.

I went to high school in Brampton Ontario, in the mid 80's and there were no Indian immigrants anywhere. After high school, I moved to Montreal to work as a fashion designer, (I have to mention the shock I experienced whenever I would fly into Toronto for business... when I went to get a taxi, there was always a massive line of Indian taxi drivers standing outside next to their taxis. I had the feeling that I was no longer in Canada, but somehow ended up in India?) Having lived in Montreal for 30 years, I recently moved to Guelph Ontario, to be closer to family and I was shocked to see how many Indians had moved there, (going to the dog park, I was informed by the people there, that Brampton was called Bramladesh and Guelph was turning into another Bramladesh.) There was a massive temple built in Guelph a few years ago and suddenly Guelph was invaded by Indian immigrants, with every house put up for sale bought by an Indian family, (the husband, his wife and their kids, the brother and his wife, their mother and father, all living in a 3 bedroom house with 3 cars in a 1 car driveway, (for some strange reason they all choose to dig up the black asphalt driveway and replace it with white concrete??) So yeah, the white people in Guelph are fleeing en mass, as it becomes impossible to sit in the back yard, or open a window, without choking on the powerful stench of spices coming from the Indians living next door... it's like being punched in the face from the horrific smell when you walk your dog and pass by one of their homes! That said, it feels like their goal is 'global domination' and with 2 billion people living in India today, it's just a matter of time before they all decide to leave the most over populated, the most polluted and the most corrupt country on the planet, and move to Canada!

They often say they're open minded and welcoming, but it's a surface level thing. Surprise surprise I even felt as an outcast/outsider w my husband's family (if it's about language barrier, they have way better English than my family, but my family managed to make my husband felt welcome and involved), received racism from my own in laws and my husband since I'm from 3rd world country.

I am living in Canada right now and I agree with all the points mentioned however,\n1. As a lady I feel safe, no one judge me for my clothes, no one stare me disgustingly and no one consider I am his private property to assault.\n2. I feel safe when my kid goes outside to play. People here follows laws strictly. Vehicle stops even at signal allows them to proceed, always I repeat always driver signals me to proceed.\n3. I feel happy that my husband is valued in his office and much appreciated. His seniors credit him for his hard work and everyone here encourage us to have proper work life balance.\n4 I agree we pay high tax but atleast we are getting benefits in return. Public libraries, transport system are top notches. \n5. Banking, health care, all government facilities are very systematic. We were not even aware we have completed 18 months in Canada and we received letter from government stating very soon my son's child benefit will start. We didn't even enquired about it. They processed it automatically as per our arrival date.\n6. And lastly, we celebrated Independence Day here in Calgary, it was great event and all officers were protecting us. I clearly remember while dancing , huge Indian flag dropped down by a toddler and one Chinese officer,he picked it up and gave it to nearby adult.\n\nLife is valued, humans are respected,laws are followed here so I don't regret my decision of migrating but yes, honestly I do miss India as well and I am proud I am an Indian.

If you acting like europe is obligated to receive them you will get push back. and it's normal and also europeans values. My family came from Japan in 2007 (I had just turned 13). I have spent the second half of my life in Canada, turned 30 yesterday and got married in Vancouver last weekend the, graduated high school in Vancouver, got my PharmD degree in Nova Scotia. My family owns businesses in Vancouver and my parents are selling EVERYTHING and leaving. They abruptly dropped this news last month. My husband and I have already made our plans to leave too and already own a home in Japan, because we were returning for the last trimester of my pregnancy, but decided we are not returning to Canada. We will stay in Japan for about 5 years, then relocate, depending on western politics \n\nI am sad because Canada became my home, and my parents have added soo much to the Vancouver economy, and created numerous jobs for Canadians.

I'm sorry, I get that Canada is crazy expensive but your lifestyle is very expensive. Everything is a choice and you choose to travel and live in a very expensive city. I moved here in 2016 I and my husband had full-time jobs and we saved most of it, now we own our house and next year are going on our first vacation.

I came from Russia a year ago. Never in my life I was so insecure financially. My husband and I work full time and this is from pay check to pay check.

Getting job in our own fields “engineering “ it took us 3 years ,as we had to get the memberships. Thank you for sharing your story. There are so many Canadians who share your views and who are equally upset about the state of affairs in Canada, including me and my husband. We have recently started contemplating moving to Serbia (my home country). Compared to Canada, Serbia has very affordable housing, and a much better healthcare system. Moreover, the majority of the population also speaks English and for someone coming from an an English speaking country like Canada, this is a huge bonus. Good luck on your journey and you have made the right decision to move.

I just stumbled across this video. This is my first viewing of one of your videos and it was sad and painful to watch. I was born in Canada to immigrant parents. I grew up on a farm in Alberta. Listening to your memories of growing up resinated with me as that was my experience as well. Fast forward to today, my husband and I left Canada in 2022 and are currently in Mexico. We have thought about a return to Canada but the reports really don't give us hope. We will likely move again someday, but Canada isn't high on that list until something changes. I have been living in Germany for 7 years now. I am only here because of my husband as he is doctor and he is a german citizen. However, living here has been horrible most of the time. Germans are not the most welcoming nor friendliest. On top that Germans complain why AÜSLANDER are not integrating the language. 1st it is hard and 2nd i think the english which be adopted into schools. Hopefully maybe it will attract more Skilled immigrants. Who has the time to speak a new language if you are looking for a job.

We are also leaving Canada later this fall, will explore a digital nomad life in Europe starting with Algarve Portugal, my husband and I recently obtained our Hungarian EU citizenship via descent and have dual citizenships/passports. We both recently were packaged out of our careers, don’t like the direction Canada is heading and decided why not try a different place to try to call home! Will watch your series closely! ❤

Alina, if you were born in Sovet Uninion (dismantled in 1991), you are at least 33 years old at the moment. You said that you begun travelling 15 years ago, so you were at least 18. With that, I can guess that you likely haven't got a college degree in a profession in demand. If you've got a proper education at McGill or UoT, your income would be in sx digits. You would likely have bought a house somewhere (not in Toronto or Van, let's say in Montreal) before covid, paying 2% interest rate, got married and have kids and a husband making six digits. So, you would be totally fine in Canada even considering increased living costs. Juat my 2 cents

I so understand! My husband and I have been nomading for the last 12 years and are now getting tired of constantly moving. We've decided to settle in Spain for now. Got a visa for three years. But we still don't know where to actually live long term. We can't afford to live in the US anymore. Not only housing, but the basic expenses like clothing, groceries, car and gas not to mention healthcare, which is prohibitively expensive to even only pay for insurance alone. \nWe have been priced out even though we always thought of ourselves as middleclass, professionals. Hello Alina, I have been to Toronto in 2007, and I can honestly say, I did not like it. I have my cousin in Vancouver, and after staying there for so long. Has decided to come back to Perth. If I was a young guy, Thailand would be my choice to live. I have just come back from Koh Samui, After spending 8 nights on that beautiful Island. I have met a lot of people from all walks of life. There are lots of people setling in Thailand today. Americans, English, Swedish, people from Switzerland, Holland, Austria, Norway and so on. I had the pleasure of seeing Lilly, her husband Wat, and her gorgeous 3 kids, her nanny, and her son. The food is so cheap, everybody smiles. Not like here in Perth. The weather was exceptionally beautiful. It rained mainly at night, and once during the day. Alina, whatever you decide to do. Do it wisely. I wish you all the best. Your main aim is to be happy. One true answer: the bureaucracy and descrimination are intense and unecessary. I am an American, I have been living in Germany for 11 years. I have a wonderful German husband and two kids born here. I speak C1 level German and I am integrated. I am fully trained high school teacher. I am in a 'high needs field' which is special education. Does the system here need me? Yes.(especially beacause I am living a in a high needs, urban area) Does the system want me? No. You are consistently told you are not enough.

My Danish husband with danish degree as pharmaceutical assistant is waiting already 10 months for recognition of his diploma. He cannot work without it. It’s an EU degree yet Germany has to be always different. At least he learned German while still waiting but I think we will leave soon. Weather in Munich is almost like in Copenhagen. ?

I am English and when in the sixties I wanted to live in B C Canada I had to go to the Canadian Embassy in London with my husband for an interview….How I loved it, My husband went first and got a job straight away and i went six weeks later …My son and grandchildren are Canadian but sadly none now live in Canada…….Trudeau has ruined your wonderful country and the influx of so called migrants has destroyed it ..We now in England are overflowing with people flooding this country that have no business being here ..Why don’t they stay in their own country and build it up instead of coming to ours and dragging it down to the cutter….

A Sri Lankan who always gets misidentified as Indian reading the comments here. ? I moved here with the genuine purpose of studying for my LLM, after considering several countries. I was offered a scholarship from my university (a top ranking public university) I know several of my Indian colleagues who came to study & now work in universities & firms. I know educated people who came here from SL, India & other South Asian countries who came to study with the genuine purpose of studying & now pursuing PhDs here & elsewhere. I understand how concerned the whole immigration issue is for Canadians & new commers like us. I’ve always loved to study in Canada & now that I’m here just to see all these negative sides is truly heartbreaking. I was able to secure a decent apartment & decent job (both me & my husband)& so are my friends & colleagues. I love Canada & means no harm. I’d love to use my knowledge & serve developing countries like mine one day. I kindly request anyone reading my comment, please don’t judge. Bringing in 1 million ppl who haven’t contributed to our socialist system yet giving them full benefits is destroying us! If just my husband didn’t get taxed we could afford for me to stay home but instead my mat leave has ended and we can’t find child care! We are in serious talks about selling the house and moving to Thailand or some other country where our dollar is actually worth something. \nTaking suggestions on English speaking countries to move to!\n\nAnd what other country could u move to and tell them to change? Cuz that’s what happening here. Ppl aren’t assimilating to our Canadian way. We are expected to accept (bend over and take it) and include in the name of “inclusion”. My husband has been already worked 40 years when he got sick and may able to work the government refused to help him because they said me and my kids are working. So a t lazy people just to coming don’t care and help with everything it’s so disgusting.

I had immigrated to Canada 34 years ago , my Canadian husband had to wait 2 years before immigration granted me visa . Nowadays it is so easy to come to this country as long as you have 20000 dollars and faked student visa , you can work instantly once you arrive. I think Liberal Party is so desperate for vote from new immigrants . I think after they graduated, they have to go back and apply for permanent visa just like the others. This way we will get quality not quantity immigrants.
