Going to a canadian community collage as a international student is wild. We don't need anyone with a 2 year business degree, and there is no prestige to getting a Canadian diploma. India/China have great schools. Wecome the Uni/Masters/Doctorate students, leave the rest.

I am Canadian and I work in an area with a lot of foreign student labour. This is an accurate summary of the situation. I have some college education, and I noticed many Indian students are going to private colleges a distance away. I believe the colleges aren't properly vetting these students in order to allow more in and collect more money from them. International students pay more to go to school in Canada. These young people unfamiliar with a western education system don't understand things aren't being done properly, but the bad reputation of these schools gets around and these students credentials are worthless. It's sad considering families frequently go into debt to send their kids to Canada. Mass Immigration is ruining housing in Canada because not enough building happend to house the sudden population increase. Canadians access to services such as health care is hindered by the population iincrease. Something as simple as the common language spoken in the country has changed. It is true if the goverment changes the people in the country the goverment has changed the country.

Yeah so what if they've been here for five years, it doesn't matter, they said they were here to study, not for immigration status, so they should go back home, and that's what's fair. Canadian's born here in Canada are stuggling to find fulltime work, without work we can't afford housing, shelter, food, or be able to save for our retirement...we were born in this country, its ours, and we can't go anywhere else without applying to other countries, and frankly, our country can not abbandon true Canadians, that's just not possible...abd its not our government's job to provide shelter, work, or free food to these international or visitors, its their country's responsibility...go back home and demand your country's government for jobs. All international students in application agree to go back after graduation, now they are professional and graduate they should go back to their own country and help their country to improve for better and live the jobs and opportunities for our kids

20 years ago, international students were the cream of the crop. They usually came from upper class families and were wealthy. Some of these were my friends, who went to boarding schools abroad and decided to come to UT for their bachelor's. Many went on to graduate school in the United States or Switzerland and never came back to Canada again. They were not here to be Canadian citizens. They were already very wealthy and there was no incentive to be here. I learned a lot from their experiences. The international student route was never meant to be a pathway to citizenship.

Majority of the students who came after the pandemic were business professionals who took the pandemic as an opportunity to get back to education. Students who have a CRS score 500+ struggle to make a living while your government provides easy immigration by asylum to people who themselves burned their countries down. Its sad to be in a nation where getting a call connected to the CRA takes more time than getting political asylum. Your government spends your tax money on asylum seekers and their 6-7 kids who come with them and not international students. We bring money to your nation. 7 billion dollars is what the students bring your nation every year, while your PM sends 5 times as much to fund someone else’s war. To be honest this is not just a Canada problem, I work in recruitment in Canada across from Ontario to Vancouver remotely from South Africa. Its pretty much the same here. Most people live paycheck to paycheck. I manage to save despite also studying still and working, and life, but if i was working like my peers jobs here. I'd still live at 33 at my parents. That a lot of people do. \n\nI think its an international issue. But the reasons like safety, winter and cold, religion, definitely look at asian countries for sure. \n\nWent to Vietnam last year, the level of safety was amazing there, if you could keep Salary from Canada and move to a country like that you can live extremely comfortable.

When I was an international student it was a PRIVILEGE to go and study. You came with enough money for each year - otherwise, no visa. Stop giving visas to students that have no money and need to work to survive. It’s not a right to come study and Canadian students that need these jobs while studying can’t get them.

The majority are illegal's, asylum seekers, refugees, people on open work permits or LMIA and international students thinking they can stay permanently. You need to prove you have the funds and somewhere to live or work. My partner have been in Canada since 2021 and he came there on study visa. While applying for the permit, every student promise to IRCC that they will leave Canada once they finish the study though everyone who comes on study visa aims to be permanent residents later. However both me and my partner think and accept that *PR is not a right that we could fight or protest for.* The Candian govt does not owe a PR promise to any international students. If we are lucky enough to get the PR, well, we are blessed and it's a favour offered by the Govt. of Canada. Anybody applying for any forms of temporary residence in the country are obliged to accept the rules and regulations and policies associated with their stay. If we will not get PR in the future, we will leave the country with All due respect to every opportunities and fortunes that this country has given us. No offense. Also when you move and settle in another country respect their culture and don't ever try to showcase the culture and practices of your home country if it will not be welcomed by the native people.

Why do they come to Canada, if not for the benefits? Why do these countries not set up their own Universities, where former international students go back home and teach their country and students what they learned here. It would be cheaper for them, and they can stay in their own country. But, they don't want to do that as they see Canada as the country of opportunities to bring their whole extended families here. We are already facing housing shortages, and don't need any of this type of opportunistic citizenships. They need to drastically cut the amount of foreign students allowed in. This year they are allowing 485,000 students. This does not take into account the students who are in high school or those studying for their master’s or doctoral degree's. In total it is 552,000. Then add on the Immigrants at 485,000, illegals or asylum claims( which is at record high numbers, could not find the figures for this year), then the migrant workers which are estimated between 700k to 900k. This is all too much. Drastic cuts need to be made, and this government that allowed all that to happen needs to be ousted out.

A complete stop on illegal immigration. Send those came in illegally back home. A check of all those that came in under the claim for asylum, background check, history check, vet them correctly. A complete stop on new international students. Close all loop holes that have been used to by-pass our laws. A moratorium on immigration for a minimum of 10 years or longer, that way the legal immigrants can be processed in a timely manner. Anyone who refuses to pledge allegiance to Canada and reject hatreds from their previous counties need to be deported immediately. It is alarming how many young people do not think Canada doesn't have a culture. Sympathy for those with a sob story real or not is over.

I am from India , 80 % of these Indians are from the states of Punjab, Gujarat and Hariyana and they mostly come to Canada with IELTS and degree certificates obtained via improper channels . I have hardly seen any one of them actually take a serious effort towards education . Canada is doing a very bad job filtering international students. The smart ones are being absorbed by the USA, predominantly from Southern India; while Canada mostly attracts the lower tire group from North India with lower productive value to economy.
