I'm from Vancouver and I've been racially discriminated by Chinese and Indian people and I'm white. I've been denied entry into places and denied property rental by these foreign dirt bags. I was born here they were not

Trudeau going to have to establish a DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) program in Canada now - people don't realize there is probably thousands like her scattered across the country mostly in the major cities. They all want similar relief from potentially being deported if they are caught. I have no problem giving it to them since most of them are young but I would enforce the condition that they have to resettle in Manitoba, Northern Ontario and the Atlantic Provinces - areas in Canada experiencing population decline, aging demographics and high job vacancy numbers. We don't need people who didn't follow the rules further overcrowding cities like Toronto and Vancouver where the cost of living is rising every year.

I'm in Vancouver BC, have expressed support for the people of Hongkong to people of Chinese background. On more than one occasion the reaction was completely unhinged. My attitude is, if you support the grotesque monstrosity Beijing, get out.

When i was in Vancouver i met a lot of rude Canadians....some were waiters and hotel staffers and an airport worker. Seriously im nice but next time im going to tell these people off. Actually I gave NO tips to the rude waiters and Tweeted about the bad customer service!! Twitter is helpful in many ways!!

The canadians are as cold as their weather...poor guy got rejected after such a DUMB MOVE .Generally speaking living in the US is way easier than in Canada ,where you have to be a genius (overqualified) to get almost any decent job.Not to mention the brutal winters (except vancouver) Only 2 good things about canada : it's healthcare and safety . Much easier to have a comfortable life in the US despite being undocumented .You just have to keep a low profile and be a law abiding citizen. The american economy is simply the BIGGEST in the planet .So many businesses : someone will give you a chance ...as simply as that !

Moving to Vancouver was a great experience tbh, I'm of nigerian heritage but was born in Finchley, North London...\nCanadians are friendly and extremely welcoming ( Coming from the UK i found this so off-putting ) lol. Ironically its non-white Canadians i had funny experiences with.... from dating to renting its weird\n\n\nAsians under 27 always asking some crazy questions ( Are you an NBA player ) lol it's cute at first but after a while when little koreans walk up to me talking about ( You look like will smith ) it makes you think... To be fair these are not inherent negatives, But asian canadians alone did treat me weird i found, Indian girls i met all wanted to be with me but where also very ashamed to say so or let their family know, but thats a cultural thing so i understood.\n\n\n Of all the demographics White canadian and native men where the most welcoming and open to me, in my experience.. White women of-course where cool too but that does not really count, especially as a good looking black guy with an accent LOOL you know how that goes!! My Tinder and Bumble were obscene LMAO\n\nRenting from asians while black and Male!? is almost impossible!!! Except they think you have rich parents!! Its impossible in Van unless you are an Arab exchange student lol \nArab and Persian students studying english have no issues renting in Vancouver, for some reason!!\n\nI lived out the St. Regis downtown for a month, Looking for places to rent, i had seen so many places online and filled out applications but never got call backs, asides from 2 group showings i went to, i could not even set up a viewing with the apartment building i wanted... \n\nTill i met an african girl in school, and she told me something i found completely crazy.\nShe told me to make a new e-mail addy and to use my English name when i e-mail, then set up a viewing but to show up with a white friend preferably a girl and that if the owner is asian, i should look around, and offer to pay 6months upfront before they get a chance to ask what i did for work or whether i was a student or not LOL. Needless to say, i did what she said and It worked the asian lady asked me to come get the keys later that day. Its just life, as a property owner they really just wanna size you up, not fair and kind of pathetic but its not inherently evil...

I am an old bearded Caucasian with a cane who often shops at a Korean market in my area in downtown Vancouver. At one point they had a black security officer who would consistently follow me anytime I entered the store. I finally reached a point where I jokingly confronted him and told him if he insisted on following me I was going to get him to help me by carrying things. He never followed me again but we would always smile at each other and laugh when I came to shop. I believe his attitude was based on my appearance and perceived economic status rather then race.\nHaving said this I have also gone shopping at other Asian markets with my children, who are half Chinese, and been followed by the Caucasian security people while my kids were not.

I went on a date with a recent immigrant from China. She had a fake job in Montreal which her parents back in China pay for. All she does is study French at “work” and collects a “pay Cheque” so she can pass the job / language checks and get her citizenship via Quebec, before she heads to Vancouver. Canadian/provincial immigration is completely broken and needs to be fixed.

Becoming a Canadian Citizen with a translator...this is epic. The result of “proud to have no identity” of the Trudeau utopic, leftist terror Government. Canadians not being able to afford Vancouver because of illegal communist money being poured in the Canadian economy. How to you “compete” with that? Working at Canadian Tire? But hey...ban all guns to keep us safe. I am an European immigrant who once respected Canada, I am dreaming of the Land of the Free now.

In vancouver in the 90s icbc busted my local licence issuer for selling drivers licences to chinese. Now taxi drivers from india sell their licences and job to another guy coming in while they go back. Saves time and money. Thats just good capitalism.

Tip of the iceberg. Now we know why Vancouver is so expensive!

Ghost Vancouver... People live there but don’t make money there ... BC government love it because those people keeping the property transfer making a lot money! Taxes payer like me it’s all moving out from Vancouver.
|

I don’t get why you’d want to be a resident and care so much of a residency. In a country you don’t even want to live in. It just doesn’t make sense like what a waste of money and time. I mean you live in China and love China so much then stay in China, period. Wtf people love to complicate themselves and their lives. People love problems and difficulty. These rich Chinese I think were only buying property and helping skyrocket the real estate in Vancouver, that’s all they succeeded on.

This is an ongoing problem in Canada for decades. Chinese investors took over Vancouver long time ago. The government didn’t do anything about it back at the time.

I’ve been visited Vancouver a few months ago from Seattle. Before I was thinking why USA have so many Chinese but when I visited Vancouver I changed my mind because I thought “Here China or Canada ? I barely saw non Asian people

There are dozens of Sunny Wangs in places like Vancouver alone, this all ties into the golden ticket passports, the government only cares that money is flowing into the country rather than out

And people say that charging the Huawei CEO and worsening ties with China is a bad thing. Imo it's great. They're putting out propaganda in China now because of it to their people that Canada is a bad place. \nThey've ruined Vancouver's housing market and they're coming for Toronto's as we speak.

I know how the border security found out about this crime. One of the officers lived next door and got run over by a $300.000.00\nsports car. Just his legs were run over. Yes, said liberal * GOODIE GOODIE ( the liberal policeman ) * shut the file down the press will overexpose this \n* No big deal thing.* The reason GOODIE wanted the file closed because of the provincial organized crime and money laundry liberals have houses for sale in Vancouver.

I am a Canadian currently homeless and looking for an apartment in Vancouver. I have been living here all my life and was born here. My parents were also born here. Trudeau refuses to give me an apartment but will willingly let immigrants have one while I am on the street! We have to stop immigration from everywhere including China now!!!

If he has a sister in Vancouver, she can probably sponsor him for him and eventually his family to become a permanent resident if I'm not mistaken

Obviously you have not been to Vancouver, BC. Where Punjabi, have recited over 150yrs. Versus Toronto.

Vancouver only excepts Millionaire Chinese and Asians people fact they had so many they had to make new rules for them buying in Vancouver. Funny isn't what the South American ( Canadian) diplomat speaking to people in Cali saying the same thing Trump is and the right. Only he is using a accent and not having to be so forceful because the leaders before him dint bend over backward to help break the laws. But Trumps the bad guy for pounding his fist and doing what the American people elected him to do.

So if he has been told that he is being deported, so he moves his family to Vancouver to hide them. This brings his case to the bottom of the line. He stayed in Edmonton & continues to work there underground not paying any taxes, while his family takes advantage of Canadian benefits hospitals, schools & welfare. What a joke round them up & get them out of here as quick as you can. We don't need the cheats.
|

Have the police gone to his sisters in Vancouver ?? He skipped out on his deportation and sent his family there, while staying in Alberta .\nAlso how dose he get to start over again in another province?? once your deemed ineligible for asylum Canada , that should be ALL OF CANADA

This is nothing... Go visit Surrey or Abbotsford in BC, Canada. Largest population of East Indians outside of India. I do have a few issues... if it's a multicultural country then come on Canada, letting in more of one race over another is unfair and unwanted. I don't want to see Chinese and East Indians making up the entire population of Canada in 50 years. I also want to say FUCK the relaxation of motorcycle helmet laws for Sikhs. They made a fool of Canada when they did this. Seems like they don't have a problem wearing a helmet when playing ice hockey. Not to mention they look ridiculous riding a Harley while wearing a turban. I am insulted as a Canadian how east Indians try to exploit or change Canada's laws. Oh and let's not talk about the gang violence brought on by the east Indians in BC. Too bad Canada can't deport the parents who turned a blind eye to their sons illegal activities in gangs. The parents are completely to blame. Innocent people are being shot and killed in quiet neighbourhoods around Vancouver. I wish I could say nice things about east Indians but it's quite hard to.

I hope they start crossing the border from Washington State into Vancouver.

So far Vancouver is OK because the many Chinese from Mainland China made the city the most expensive to live in North America.

I'm disabled. I get 375.00 for shelter living in Vancouver. I pay 900.00 for a room so I'm never sure I will eat. that's how we treat our own.

Enter Canada the legal way, and welcome, not by sneaking in and claiming refugee status. This will likely result in deportation, as it should. .....moving your case to Vancouver just cost you extra money for nothing other than it delayed your case enriching the lawers.

Lots of unanswered questions. Why does he have to live in Edmonton and leave his family in Vancouver? I don’t see why they’re not together. Where the outrage against Trudeau for not helping these dreamers?

oh ya move to vancouver like the most expensive city in canada thats smart when youre already poor

Edmonton and Vancouver are travelled between constantly. They make it sound as if he is millions of miles from his family. I just bet someone he works with travels back and forth and would happily accommodate him on a visit to see his loved ones.

His sister lives in Vancouver. What's the difference?
|
| 2018-06-20 | 0 |
I was born in Seattle and left to Canada (married) when I was in early 20's! This then was a good change for me as Vancouver was a great city compared to Seattle, moved right downtown and had a blast so for a young person (then) was great. Met some great people from all over the world and had health care, medical/Dental etc.... I worked in the greater Vancouver area for 8 years and it was tough, very strict, and did not help that I was from the states, white bread Canadian seemed a bit jealous that I was there, sometimes not very friendly. The Europeans I met were actually better to deal with and I got along quite well with them. The cost of living was about the same as in Seattle. After about 8 years being in Canada and working hard I saw America booming and the Canadian dollar was as low as $.62 cents (in late 90's) so I took my craft from Vancouver and brought it to the US just across the border, I became much happier working in the States, I took a little bit of bs but not bad from some that I had a Canadian accent (go figure when I moved up there I had a twang) I really never left the united states I will always be American and I have been still working in the US for over 20 years and deal with mainly Americans on a daily basis from all over the State of Washington. Depending on where you grow up or end up you should never see a border Seattle and Vancouver have more in common than Vancouver / Calgary in fact most Canadians don't care much for the other provinces. After 30 years of being part of both countries, I can say that people are people both have great offerings and if you took the best of Canada and America to combine then we would all prosper, there is so much both can learn from each other. Bottom line:I take the best of both worlds and what they have to offer, yes, I have found less expensive goods in Canada than what they cost in the states. I have seen it from both eyes, and if you cant be open culturally then stay away.

I worked construction in my summers and I know skilled carpenters, even the ones that never went to trades school, can easily make $45/hr in Calgary if they subcontract or even $40 on payroll and its not even boom times. A lot of guys I worked with were easily clearing $100 000 a year but the problem is they choose to buy brand new pickup trucks on instalments or have overall poor saving habits. Hours are really long too. What I noticed about wages in Vancouver and Toronto are that they are really bad for construction workers, I know a guy in Vancouver whose a layout journeyman making only $21 a hour, a labourer in Calgary starts out at usually $19-20.

He broke Canadian federal laws when he entered illegally to Canada! Him and his family should have been deported as soon as they arrived and under the 3rd party agreement Canada has with the U.S that is what was suppose to happen. He shouldn't have even gotten a refugee hearing! Now has breaking the law again by not showing up to his deportation and hiding his family in Vancouver and going to another province. Idiot! It's all Canadian law!

Usa is the best country to ever exist, and Canada is no competition to the USA because in America no body even talks about Canada, and I heard in Canada all y'all do is talk about America. Everyone on the planet dreams to come to the USA no one dreams to go to Canada, everyone on the planet watches American sports, basketball, football, soccer, baseball. Canada has nothing and the ?? is extremely fun and amazing so many beaches, mountains, forest, lakes, waterfalls big cities that are so fun and Canada is boring, Vancouver boring, Toronto Boring it's not like the us cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Miami, New York, Orlando, Las Vegas, Chicago, Denver, Dallas, Houston, Beverly hills
