I was moving back to Edmonton in October 2023 and the vacancy rate was 0.0001% the apartment I got, if i did not take it (the area is so rough) I would have had to stay with a friend and hoped and prayed that in November more people were moving so something else could/would become available. \n\nThen I talked to everyone in this building. Once the 1 year lease is up they months rent 250$ so they suck you into a an apartment where homeless are sleeping in the laundry room smoking meth for $1000 and then up the rent to 1250$ and the area is like the ones you were exploring. If anyone knows Edmonton it’s a block off 118 ave or Alberta Avenue. And I work at the Royal Alexandra Hospital (inner city) it’s heart breaking ?. It was always bad but since moving to the country in 2020 and coming back late 2023 the decline is devastating. Even a very close friend of mine went from packing her kids lunches, working casually (when they needed) as a janitor at Edmonton public school board to staying at salvation Army and it getting full to living in Tent City. She had to make her way to Calgary for shelter. ?

My mom work in immigration. The issue is people are sent all over Canada when they arrive, every one just end up coming to Toronto because they don't like cold and want to be with their people.

Work for yourself or get enslaved by another employer that's why people would love to work for government. Housing prices skyrocketing in big cities and there is no foreseeable future for its remedy. Cold weather for six month of year and at the end COVID force closure killed many of people and hospitalization was so bad. Anywhere there was no hospitalization people life were saved. There is no open market like many countries which are backed by government to buy goods in reasonable price for low income people. Very restricted laws for driver license. Life in Canada is far from normal kills you or make you disable for life without getting you paid. Now I disabled for couple of years and I'm outside of Canada and just my family saved my life because I couldn't work because of disability due to spoof call attack which cause severe peripheral neuropathy. Even there is no any protocol for this illness to get cured and forced me to see many MDs and cost me lots of money. Just stay away from Canada which is a nightmare and my sickness cost me not be able to protect my family and died because of that. Canada is a hell

Express entry brings good people …. \n\nLabor shortage is a way for immigrant owned businesses to get LMIA permits that sell for 35k to 50k per person in the form of closed work permit. Most closed work permit employees know what slavery looks like ….these number never show up in Govt numbers and this is a big burden on tax payers…\n\nStudents in useless diplomas are also here to get PR in any way.. they pay their way into PNPs to get PR if need arises….your Master and P hD folks are not in that line… but who knows if 360k limit would impact those good guys more than the diploma students

whatever you are saying that is correct but it is only one side bro, go and just ask international students what they have been promised here in Canada and how they are living here. Even most of the engineers, doctors and other professionals with foreign experience ended up doing general labor or uber driver jobs and even on the basis of their education and work experience they got permanent residency. No one likes to work on these hard jobs but they don't have any other option as most of skilled worker jobs either need their respective field license or Canadian experience. how much fees international student paying, what kind of job they are doing here, living far from family, managing studies and job, how much debt they took to study here and much more sacrifices doing here. Do not say then why came here because applied through legal process and full filled all the necessary criteria. Was it our fault that we dreamed about study and work here in Canada?. I know it is hard for you and your families that they are not getting jobs but don't hate international students. you can only understand anyone if you put yourself in their shoes.

Many ways we could go about fixing this crisis. Obviously heavily limiting immigration would help, banning all diploma mills that are just student visa scams. Forcing municipalities to get rid of their awful zoning and restrictive rules, could be streamlined by running a nationwide referendum to make zoning a federal jurisdiction and not provincial/municipal and then just adopt something similar to japanese zoning nationwide. Banning or heavily restricting Airbnbs is an other thing that would help. A lot of what the BC NDP with Eby is doing should be done nationwide for sure. Regarding all the homeless people, we could offer them a job to build infrastructure, houses in exchange for a bed and food, something akin to what was done in the New Deal. Could be a super efficient way to get something like high speed rail built quickly. It'd be a contract they'd sign for 5-10 years and at the end of the deal they get compensation for the work they did. Also not every homeless can live in society. When conservatives got rid of institutions like mental asylums, all the people with non fixable conditions got thrown in the streets. Those are people who just can't, regardless of how much we do to help them, live in society, but their people like us so a modernized, humane version of the mental asylums would help a ton not just for these people, but also their family members who'd know that their kid or sibling is somewhere safe.

All I know I worked my ass off all my life and still working like an animal because I don’t wanna fall into these people steps remember in life you never give up what you do that’s what happens. It's become a nightmare here not just for young people but everyone looking for work. These huge line-ups are not even new. For those who remember when Target opened stores here in Ontario and the massive line-ups for those minimum wage part-time jobs! It was insane. This has been going on for over a decade now. But it's even worse than people realize. They neglect to mention that female students at places like U of T turn to prostitution to survive. Not just a few, a significant percentage! There are entire websites devoted to students looking to prostitute themselves to pay rent and tuition! Wake up people! If government wants to get rich off of people, get our pay higher, don't just shovel more into the fire.

Actually it is really simple, the main reason that educational institutes (businesses in reality) and the country have been bringing in international students (whether India or elsewhere) is that *the international students pay 4-5x more in tuition* and so *educational institutes and the country wants to bring them in as cash cows, to milk them for the money!* *They have been using them as cash cows and milking them* There are so many institutes where there is such an imbalance, where 80-90% are international students and the local minority, the reason again is, $$. \n From international students and imgs there is a boost in the economy because of the high tuition they pay and the tax that is collected from that tuition, they spend on rent (crazy expensive as you know) transport, basic cost of living like food etc, entertainment etc, so the economy did benefit from immigrants and international students, but I completely agree that there is way too much influx. It is not good for them nor for the country, as everything has become so expensive, rent and housing affordability is gone crazy, due to crazy demand and low supply. \n So the problem is greed! Liberals say they are bringing skilled labour yet those lines are as long a 4-9 buses, Skilled workers don’t come in lines of 300 people like that. I'm all for bringing in the 'skills & talent' with new immigrants. But these new Canadians must fit the criteria that Canada needs and they must come in through the legal system, be properly vetted and willing to abide by the laws of the land. Instead, what Trudeau is bringing in through open borders are freeloaders, people who take advantage of the welfare system and refuse to work. And many of them have long criminal histories. I was told twice ( unofficially by employees) while applying for work that I should not put my hopes too high cause even tho I was qualified I was not part of a minority or had a disability ! Like me, I already want to move back. Canada was overglamorized. I think I'm just gonna finish my post grad work permit and move back home. At least there, housing is still within my reach. It's rare people doesn't own homes. You can grow food in your backyard. Can live without debt in any way if you choose as we dont rely in mortgages and credit cards or credit scores.\n\nCanada is good in pictures, but not totally in real life. And what I realized is every country has issue in corruption, government, capitalism etc. There's no perfect country, might as well, just have an almost perfect life with loved ones.

The homes are crazy expensive. Just start from million The healthcare is not good if something were to happen to you . Hav e to be waiting in the emergency over night I slips on ice went to the emergency went there at 6:00 for looked at 9:00 waited 4 hrs to get look d at. 3 generation Canadians have it good there parents came in the 90s houses weren’t so expensive then . Canada has become an exclusive club for people who want to own a home or own real estate. Supply side issues but open immigration has made it a real estate haven for investors from all over the world. Black money or not, you can easily bring drug or money laundering, or other dishonest (a.k.a haram) money into Canada, and law enforcement is asleep at the wheel. Why would you say the “cost of healthcare in Canada is higher than in Europe” when it’s literally paid-for by our taxes? I mean it doesn’t cover everything (same as UK) like doesn’t cover pharmaceuticals, physio, hearing aids, or dental for most people (they’re changing that slowly thanks to our socialist party that’s been keeping the libs in line), but it’s ridiculous to say it’s costly since for most tax payers it’s basically free. Move to Washington state and the economy is much better than British Columbia. In Washington state you save 50 percent of your earnings. The American dollar goes far and many many many jobs. There are no job in British Columbia and they are called slave labored jobs working at Walmart or as a Amazon delivery job. I met some Indian people in Blaine and Bellihgham and tell me Greater Vancouver is too expensive. Also American people know how to create jobs. International students promised that they got enough money to pay for their tuition fees and accommodation before getting university offer letter. It is funny they can work 40 hours just like the full time workers. Why did they tell that they got sufficient money to the University and Immigration and they wil focus on their study only till their study is completed? Why do they protest on roads now telling that teachers are falling them intentionally?

As an Irishman who moved to Canada 4 years ago I can tell you the country is in a shocking state, zombies on every street corner, violent crimes outta control, even my wife who is English was attacked while riding the train to work one morning by a random homeless person of Asian descent telling her to go home and abusing her with racial slurs, on top of this the prices of everything has shot up enormously from rent to your average grocery shop, woke culture is forced upon everywhere to the point I feel like I’m being controlled on my world views… both me and my wife are educated and have good jobs yet we just about keep our heads above water in a two bedroom flat in Calgary
