Funny how Canada is being criticized by the same problems. High taxes, very expensive (or non-existent) housing and salaries not very good. Well... maybe that´s why they need more people too. 3rd generation here, I can retire next year as long as I leave Canada. If I remain, I will work until dead because it is so very expensive and getting more so under the cult of climate change. A homeless shelter for drug addicts is being built less than a 4 minute walk from my home which is in a seniors park....we will all be victimized by theft and vandalism. We are also divided thanks to trudeau who has labelled and categorized us so deeply he ran elections based on divisions. We are no longer the kind polite people we once were. Churches burning epitomizes the moral or lack of moral ground we live and act upon. So I am moving next year to central America, Panama most likely...I can afford to retire there, never need to heat my home nor worry trudeau is going to ban my furnace and my car. It saddens me to no end for I have grandchildren, 5 generations, of investment in this country.

Canadians are the last people to complain about immigrants, a huge portion of their doctors, engineers, nurses are immigrants. Even with that the shortage of these jobs is huge. You have to wait months if you need a surgery for example.\nI think immigrants should hold a strike for a month and see how Canada will function.

There are many countries in the EU that are poorer then Germany (e.g., Portugal, Greece, etc). Why don't we see more migration within the EU itself in order to fill these open positions? It seems like it would be way easier to recruit from within the EU since there would be no need to apply for visas.

One true answer: the bureaucracy and descrimination are intense and unecessary. I am an American, I have been living in Germany for 11 years. I have a wonderful German husband and two kids born here. I speak C1 level German and I am integrated. I am fully trained high school teacher. I am in a 'high needs field' which is special education. Does the system here need me? Yes.(especially beacause I am living a in a high needs, urban area) Does the system want me? No. You are consistently told you are not enough.

When I arrived in this country, I had to have 6 months to support myself and health insurance, and I arrived as a resident. People come to this country and are not required to have valid and verifiable health insurance upon entry, regardless of family ties. You need to prove your ability to live here.

This should not be legal. That's messed up. They're taking those jobs from people that actually need those jobs. It's not easy for people in South Asian middle class families to get these jobs as their English is not fluent so these jobs go to privileged and educated families. They're getting the airline blacklisted by doing this, reducing jobs for the poor in their home country. This is selfish. As someone from a 3rd world country, this is dangerous. I've heard so many cases of people ending up as slaves because some idiot conned them into doing this. Canada also needs to look into corrupted politicians getting PR cause they bought land there through money laundering schemes in the home country. And these issues have existed even before Trudeau came into power. Stop blaming just 1 person, blame the entire system.
