It's sad that so many Canadians have to move from their hometowns/provinces in droves to financially survive and get ahead a little. Unfortunately, the droves of people fleeing Ontario and BC are driving up prices now (to buy/rent) in other parts of Canada like Alberta and Atlantic Canada where this is having a trickle effect creating Albertans, Nova Scotians, etc. to be homeless and strains on their provincial healthcare systems. It's a sad state of affairs, and I do not think a politician can fix this, unless they start demanding more and curtailing the power of corporations. A big rebalance needs to occur, but it seems unlikely when politicians and business leaders are on the same side (aka corruption / conflict of their own interests). Canada needs a division between government and business which is the case in many Scandinavian countries.

Did anyone think why is it so. If there are too many students, that is because the local colleges are greedy and want a lot international students to come in and pay higher fees. If there are too many indians, again, it is because CIC which does the screening for immigration application approves a lot of indian immigrant applications. Is it because they cannot find applicants from other countries or even if they do, may be indian applicants are more capable than other immigrant applicants? Something to think about. And what is the role of Mr Trudeau. He seems to be wanting more immigrants.

i grew up in Brampton 20 years ago, a child of Caribbean parents. Whenever I go back I can say Yes, Brampton has changed over the years. I also remember that white/Canadian people were always the population struggling with substance abuse- particularly in the downtown area. Conflating the influx of indians with the downturn of white canadians seems to just fuel animosity and scape goat the issue onto a population of people that's probably just trying to seek a better life. why not ask the government to provide better social programs for those in need rather than fueling hate ? Why not investigate the structural issues that have contributed to this situation i.e. politicians gaining votes by doing xyz, or look into what people may be facing in the homelands? That would be a better piece of journalism imo. I think this video is highlighting this issue in ways history has seen before... can't we do better?

Self-inflicted negatives due to unmitigated greed backed by the provincial gov't. I liked TO and used to make regular visits. I'd stay in hotels or b&b's. Many b&b's shut down due to Ford's costly restrictions. That paved the way for hotels to almost double their prices. I can't afford it and very rarely visit. We 'little people' don't seem to matter to our so-called elected representatives anymore.

Honestly seeing this and knowing how some other EU countries are with similar problems, life in Serbia doesn't seem so bad, yes the purchasing power is lower but life is much easier and you definitely don't see people living in cars...

2 words that apply to western countries, social housing. Easy to say but seems hader to fix all over most of the western world.

Canada has been the down the road of high immigration in the past, erven in the face of housing shortages. This happened right after World War II. To deal with the shortage of rental housing stock then in the large cities, the government put demands on immigrants and refugees to settle in agricultural areas and small town Canada. But, it seems today that most immigrants just want to go to the already overcrowded cities, especially Vancouver, Edmonton, Toronto and Montreal. Rural Canada is now facing manpower shortages, but has a fair amount of housing, as many small towns have actually shrunk in population over the years. and could use the people. Immigrants assimilate better in small towns.

You know when someone just talks and within seconds you know that what they are saying is true . I’d like to say we are the weight but we are not in control . If what “we” were doing was right, would we need propaganda? Would “we” not be using every resource we had into fighting for a resolution ? \nI’m not an educated man but, if you build a wall around someone’s home land, control there food, water, economy… would you not grow to hate those that suppress ? All I know, is that we all, regardless of race, religion etc have more in common than we think! We want to feel safe, raise our families with peace and the opportunity for a bright future. Seems like a pattern emerging, the same pattern that ended the Roman Empire . Regardless of what you believe we are all here so surly we all have the same maker, god ….

Man it seems being a colonizer is tough stuff. Do you think if you cry about discrimination that would work? You think if the British cried about being discriminated against the Indians, you would have said, gee we should let them colonize us. Keep us posted on how that works for you.

I lived in Brampton until middle of 2009. There seemed to be a good mix of cultures and lots of diversity then. I'm surprised to see that it changed so much. I'm okay with people from wherever and why not India, but it's disturbing that there are so many drug addicts and homeless people. Is it the immigration or is it because of the kind of people who stayed in Brampton? Did they stay because they had no choice? It makes no sense though that so many people left this city. Well, I left it too. Edmonton is a much nicer place than anywhere in the GTA.

These brown people that come to Canada seem to be EXTREMELY CONFUSED. Canadians shouldn't be expected to adapt because of immigrants. I have lived in Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba and now Alberta. Toronto was beautiful in the 60’s and 70’s then it started to change to what is now overcrowded, expensive and crime ridden. I would not choose it anymore. Winnipeg, Manitoba in the mid to late 80’s was lovely. People were polite especially in winter, when driving was challenging, friendly and it is very cultural. People would say it would be the best city in Canada if it was in the mountains. Now I live in Edmonton, Alberta a dirty city with a council that puts high priced, unaffordable recreation centres ahead of services that would benefit everyone. Now they want to increase the population to 2 million when it can’t afford to sustain the existing population of 1,568,000. The taxes this year have risen to 8.9% and house prices are expected to increase 6.5% for an average price of $458,000. I lived in Calgary, in the Fish Creek provincial park area close to the C-train and a good bus service to downtown. 45 minutes from the mountains and Kananaskis, great zoo, vibrant downtown and if it is not much more expensive than Edmonton and is ranked 7th best city to live in worldwide. To compare the 2 cities, Edmonton tries to be world-class but just doesn’t have what it takes. The people seem to have very little pride in their city, the parks are a mess of weeds which also grow wherever there is green space and they very possibly have the worst and rudest drivers in the country. Very sorry if this offends anyone.

Immigration of a particular ethnic group of India looks like a scandal. They seems to have political support from Canada.

I went to high school in Brampton in the early 80's and there were no people from India anywhere... it was very much a white anglo town, and then I moved to Montreal for 25 years to work as a fashion designer. (I remember the shock of flying into Toronto on business and walking outside to get a taxi, there was an endless line of Indian guys wearing Turbans, waiting by their taxis...it was a very strange feeling, as I was not sure if I was in Canada or India.) About 10 years ago, I moved back to Ontario to live in Guelph with my sister and had heard the joke about Brampton becoming 'Bramladesh' by people at the dog park, and in the past 5 years, (since they built the massive temple in Guelph) the place has turned into a mini India, as EVERY house put up for sale is bought by a family from India, with 4 or 5 cars in a 2 car driveway, (strangely, as soon as they move into the house, they all rip out the asphalt driveway and replace it with white concrete??) they seem to be a tribal people and every house is filled to capacity, as the husband and wife are with their kids, the brother and his wife and their parents, all living together. (They are friendly people and they don't cause any trouble... my only issue is the intense stench of spices from their house that fill the air 24/7 to the point that you cannot sit in the back yard or open a window, without being punched in the face from the powerful odour of spices!

Nothing wrong with immigration, the annual rate seems a bit skewed though. Similar issue in Australia, I’m happy for immigration to increase when infrastructure meets population increase. English as a common language is essential though, at least IELTS 5.0 for the visa holder.

This is so interesting. I'm lucky enough to be a Singaporean and just a slightly above-average professional, I contemplated applying for Canadian PR as PR seemed achievable and I wanted a change of environment. But in 2018, I did a research trip to Vancouver and Toronto to scout out the place and talk to friends living there, and realised just from a few anecdotes that with the comparatively higher income taxes, lower salaries and higher housing prices (compared to subsidised public housing in SG, private housing in SG is still out of my reach) that I really was better off where I am. Not to mention the stagnating and less diverse economy, un-progressive tax system would penalise a single working female like me. I thought it would afford a better quality of life for young families due to the maternity leave policy - not sure if I was on the mark for that

Iam white and I don't feel comfortable around alot of whites BC they don't hate human. 95 0/0 of my close friends are ppl from all countries BC we have more fun.alot of whites seem jealous of how better others are.

The reason the officer had a tiff with the jerk husband it seems. You can’t try to lord over government officials. ?usually Indian embassy’s officials are always civil. At least from the video the official said the husband was shouting at him. So civility was lost from both sides.

Can you ask each international student or immigrant you see on the street how much they paid the canadian government to come there? I'd probs say $30k/person (forms, medical or probs tuition). Canadian government is collecting $30k/per immigrant basically + cheap part-time labour but seems like it doesn't benefit the canadians. Only politicians getting richer. You should point your lens at the corrupt government that keeps allowing this to collect $$$ despite all negative points you brought up in the video.

Growing up half of my relatives were Canadian, and we visited often. It always seemed that Canada was a cleaner, friendlier version of America. I still visit on occasion, but it's not the same country, either is the United States for that matter. There's no escape!

It seems to me that thirty years ago it was Canadian youth who were saying they couldn’t get a job because they didn’t have the experience. We should have a glut of carpenters and plumbers and electricians but instead these industries are experiencing a short supply of skilled workers. Perhaps, given a chance, these temporary workers will learn the trades that are only expected to be in great demand with the need to house so many new Canadians.

Canadian authorities offer nothing but lies and misinformation when it comes to relocating to Canada, they offer all kinds of wonderous programs and relocation assistance to leave you high and dry with nothing - Canada is becoming an economic wasteland which offers no prospects and no future. Housing and rental markets are a joke. Health care system is a joke...... I spent 7 years waiting to sign on with a family GP. The employment markets is a total joke with wages being stagnant for around 10 years. As an immigrant your home country qualifications won't be recognized by Canadian employers and used as another excuse to offer you a pathetically low wage. Then there's the never ending bureaucracy if you want to relocate or establish a new business...... the only thing that seems to thrive in Canada is political corruption..

When you first get here many people don’t know what to make of you and you get what seems to be the cold shoulder. \nIt gets hard to value the sentiments of the people around you. This can make you more open to navigating around the system. \nFor some who are from environments that have a lot of cheating normalized it’s worse so. \nWhen you get a feel for the environment that dissipates mostly but I do notice that quite a few from India have a lot of this mindset. You see it in class from several other cultures as well. I don’t know the solution. Maybe just time. \n.

South Asian Indians are fourth generation Canadians and are educated, successful and have assimilated with the European culture. The french lady should see Montreal, it is cool to see Indians, Chinese speaking French. Do you ask why there are too many Chinese in Chinatown? Sadly the new immigration are bad Trudeau policies that India wanted deported back. Others are temporary honest Indian students that are being ripped off by Canadian wrong policies of shameless cash grab. Assimilation for new immigrants could be something in common e.g. free classical piano lessons for everyone in school. Music and language is a great first step in communication. The drug problem has nothing to do with immigration, it is the result of their own culture of drug abuse and bad Canadian policies. I think it is sad that the woman seems to be so negative without realizing the she has to care and use her power for good by demanding that no Canadian should be on the streets, this is why ALL Canadians (especially include South Asian Indians) pay taxes. where is our money going? is not the Canadian Government responsible for the welfare of ALL Canadians? we were the peacekeepers. Canada is a puppet to western primitive thinking foreign policy in a proxy war to destroy beautiful Christian Russia?? Trump has outsmarted Trudeau on every agreement. It seems appropriate to me that he returns to India. His wife and son can also return to India. They do have good hospitals there, not sure why that is a humanitarian need here. I think it would help them all build a life away from this chapter of their lives. Show a bit of grace, people, he pled guilty and was distressed about his role in the deaths. The stop sign was not visible. It was a terrible consequence.

The only debt that sticks beyond this life is the debt of sin, and we are all sinners, every one of us. That debt is wiped away forever, with Christ's unblemished blood He shed for all, yes even you who is reading this. He also overcame death by rising again and ascending to come back after said troublesome period where judgement will take place. I plead with you, this is all going to get far worse, man doesn't seem to care unless under severe tribulation. But the free gift, received through faith alone in the Lord Jesus Christ alone, will save what is truly on the line, your eternal soul. All thanks and glory to Him. I plead with you to wake up to what is really going on before it's too late. This world and its ruler has already been judged, don't go down with it. Blessings to you.

When I first immigrated to Canada, it seems that government`s filter on who should be moved to here was more selected and moreover, ppl really wanted to absorve and appreciate Canada`s culture whereas now, I see more and more new immigrants imposing their own culture here. It`s been 2 years that I`ve been seen news about cars being robbed, and in small cities, ppl being stabbed until death in the subways where you didn't even thought about this kind of situation here in Canada. I`m paying a lot for too less in life quality.
