This is why I’m voting Trump. Say what you want but something like this never happened under his administration. If it did, the news would report it right away to make him look bad. If Trump doesn’t win, we as citizens who have paid taxes and contributed to our own country, will cease to exist.

Fabulous video! US viewer here. But we often vacationed in Quebec’s Laurentians and our daughter went to Ontario’s University of Toronto for her undergraduate degree about 15 years ago. UofT was rigorous, to say the least, but she did it in 4 years, unlike some of her peers. She LOVED it, and made many friends, including internationals. They’ve stayed close on FB, and even get together (some flying in from other countries, including the Middle East and Asia) every 2 years or so back in Toronto. Like you, I know someone happy with their job, location, medical care and opportunities, but they are also very uncomfortable with the political situation - I'll just say it - Republicans. You need only look at Trump and its followers. Guns over lives (including kids), billionaires over poor, religion over others' freedoms (gay/trans/abortion, etc), mass spread of misinformation (Fox news, OAN, etc) and a personal selfishness and anger which was made very clear during COVID times. It makes them feel like they are walking on eggshells, at least compared to Canada where they lived before and people would look out for each other more (even if they didn't know them). They like the weather, job, opportunities, the USD buying power, and their friends, among many other things, but it just feels excessively risky to them dealing with the combinations of these things. I can completely understand why they and others might want to leave the US.

People think of Canida as great. Wide clean open spaces, Free Heath Care, No Trump but a lot of people either don't follow threw or realize quickly that its also snow and wolverines and bears and higher taxes and learning French. Im shore all places have bad and good, but I feel like people are rushing in with out considering all possibilities. In my opinion,California and Texas belong to the Indian; they claim it back, simply solution unite the two countries, give them a passport or a visa so they can visit when ever they want. Canada is not the only county seeing this, and the US not the only country turning it's back on the benifits of immigration. You could have made the exact same video about Ireland vs the UK (except wages in Ireland are far high rather than lower than the UK) Here in Ireland we have long benefitted a great level of immigration fuelling rapid economic growth but since 2016 with Brexit, Trump ect. making it clear that immigrents aren't welcome in some other counrties we have seen a whole new type of immigrent from countries like Mexico where recent graduates seaking work experence in English pick Ireland rather than the US or UK as we have a better immigration system but also a culture which welcomes immigration as an endorcment of our country. Here the more you are proud of you country and culture the more you go out of your way to welcome immigrents who are the living embodyment of your belief that we are the greatest counrty in the world, not the welcome immigrents can expect from nationalists in the US or UK. The big winners here are countries like Canada & Ireland who have recognised that in the 21st Century it's not coal, iron or even oil that brings wealth but rather being able to attract the best & brightest talent in the world.

I have a serious chronic condition which would make me uneligible for health insurance.\nI used to love going to the US. My last trip was over 20 years ago to New York City, which I love. I did not realize it a the time, but that was my last time crossing the border.

My Canadian son and his girlfriend, both in their early 30's, have visited the USA many times. Each time they go, I worry constantly that something bad will happen to them (shot, injured or sick). My brother and his wife have a condo in Florida and I worried that during COVID they'd catch it and die because of DeSantis' batshit crazy policies, making Florida a cesspool of virus. Now he wants to turn it into Gilead. His wife clearly desires to become Serena from The Handmaid's Tale. Too bad because I used to love Florida. I'm also worried sick that if Trump is elected President again, he'll somehow cause such a catastrophe the like of which has never been seen before, and it will affect Canada too. Basically, as a neighbour of the US, I'm constantly worried all the time.

I'm an American who moved to Canada. Would I ever move back? Probably not. The US is so screwed up right now that I can't imagine ever moving back into that malstrom. US - the problem is when there are obvious problems you have a system that allows big money into politics, which allows for lobbying, which in my opinion is legal bribery. The idea that politicians had ( or have ) NRA ratings for supporting openly guns and not implementing the most logical of common sense gun control. \nHealthcare - in Canada, not having the healthcare tied to your employer actually makes Canadians a more free country. There are a lot of Canadians in the arts ( musicians, painters etc. ) that have the freedom to pursue any employment that wish, and not worry about the health benefits. \nIt kind of surprises me that you were surprised about school shootings. From what we see, that is not happening all in big cities. Sandy Hook was the worst. To think that Congress didn't do a thing after that, is reason enough not to want to move there.\nAnd Donald Trump has soured my wanting to ever even go there on holiday. Unbelievable that after two years, so many Americans believe anything he says, when he claims that he won in 2020 with not even a ounce of evidence to the contrary. There is not even a theory that would explain his claims. The mistrust of Americans with each other stems from people like Trump and Fox news. \nI think as you said - Healthcare alone is enough for almost any Canadian. We have McDonalds and Starbucks here in Canada, even in small towns PLUS we have Tim Hortons everywhere! I have lived in both countries and much prefer Canada. The very idea of another Trump presidency makes me literally ill. In Alberta our healthcare is free, no monthly payment and there is affordable drug coverage both through private and provincial government provided. The Canadian education system is far superior.

I ‘ve met so many Americans on trips and through living in San Francisco for 3 months for a course. They were very kind, thoughtful and knowledgeable people. I also love many beautiful places in the States. I find though, that the media ignores Canada to a great degree only reporting negative issues . I don’t care for the super nationalism of the government, the gun laws, the many wars they’ve been involved in, nor do I like the racism and the present divisiveness of the country given that a person like Trump could be voted in and have so much power! That is frightening! I could never have afforded my two hip and knee replacements as well as other surgeries and the birth of four children had I lived there consequently, I would make friends with Americans who move here withthe same principles, but no to moving to the United States OF America.I was happy to return to beautiful Vancouver Island, (which was voted one of the top Islands in the world by CNN, Time magazine and Conde Nast, )
