Why ppl go to other country like Canada and Australia etc. because we have rampant corruption in our country, secondly, Reservation, unemployment,hunger,garibi,political interference,lack of good school,hospital, increasing population, lack of essential facility,illiteracy,even ppl have to pay bribe for nursery school admission and that is from 6 to 10 lack in big cities like Delhi corrupt police and corrupt system and delayed justice delivery system and many more other problem which ppl of our country are facing daily and that is why ppl are proceeding aboard for study and for job.if I am not wrong as my son is in Montreal in Canada and my daughter is in USA, Texas living happily. I was raised in Vancouver and our family moved to the US when I was 32 for 22 years. In 2021, after our kids graduated high school, we made the decision to move back to Canada for several reasons, top of the list was universal healthcare. We live a good life in Victoria and don't regret our decision. Canada just feels safer and we have had wonderful experiences with our medical care. No matter what Western G7 nation you live in, prices are high, housing costs are high, it's the unfortunate outcome of neoliberalism and the wealth gap.

Uni education is a scam. Go to vocational school and learn the basic of life and survive in this difficult world. No need degrees and foreign education. It is a huge scam.

I’m Canadian, my parents didn’t have $28k to give me to go to university. So I’m sorry these ppl think that going to school in Canada is some magic ticket to a successful career making great money, but why should Canadians feel bad for these ppl? Yes u were sold a lie, that North America is some magical land of hope, it’s not, there are millions of ppl in the west who can’t afford university, and have to work their entire lives as janitors and labourers with no savings for retirement, nothing to offer their children, I don’t feel bad thst these ppl are being mislead by Canadian universities, so are we, so many college and university programs are a scam,

Canada needs stricter immigration, which should be limited to those coming to Canada to be a highly-skilled dentist, surgeon, doctor, or any other profession which would not require re-schooling for those fields once arrived in Canada.

I for one do not agree at all with the indoctrination going on in schools pushing this LGBTQ agenda on kids I think its absurd! But to have someone convert to a different religion or they can not marry you is in my opinion another form of indoctrination and its definitely not tolerant of others beliefs. The thing about Canada is we truly dont mind others practicing what they believe, but ofcourse when it comes to kids and the LGTBQ thing I strongly disagree about this being in schools. But other then that we support different religions and cultures. I homeschool so there are ways around these kinds of things here in Canada and I do think the cost of living will go back down eventually and those that left will regret it.

I AGREE 1000,00,000 %, I SAW SO MANY STUDENTS ARE COMING FROM INDIA UNDER STUDENTS VISA, BUT THEY NEVER ATTEND SCHOOL AND WORKING FULL TIME AND PAYING THE FEE. WHILE THEY ARE WORKING FULL TIME AND NOT ATTENDING THE COLLEGE, EVENTUALLY THEY RECEIVED FAKE DIPLOMA FROM THE COLLEGES. I THINK THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD GO AFTER THESE COLLEGES WITH WEIRED NAMES, YOU CAN FIND ALL THESE COLLEGES ALL OVER MISSISSAUGA AND BRAMPTON. THIS COUNTRY BEING DESTROYED BY TRUDEAU. As a citizen trying to achieve admissions to complete a DVM in Canada, this is a required problem worth discussion. The country is in a deficit for veterinarians but one of the largest schools in Canada, OVC has increased their international admissions over domestic significantly. We need support for domestic students to increase before international students to ensure service to Canadian communities, especially rural Canadian places.

You did it so early!! U could have stayed a bit and should have done more!! U r one of the lucky who got their PR, alot of people are trying so hard to go. Only one concern i have to go there bcoz as a muslim, we get worried about how the kids will be raised bcoz everything is so open! They teach sex so clearly so early too and alot of other things like teaching transgender in schools. It is such a problem. Then eating problem, we cnt eat any meat xpt halal meat. Again I never heard of the solution DORMSSSSSS! Canada dont need too many small colleges, just few in strategic areas where everyone will have access. These schools, they can accept international student but!!! They should have capacity to accommodate like having a dorrrmmmmm for the school. Im mad about this bc in SKorea, where I exchage, they have dorms, here in Canada, you have to find it yourself. We also get our food in the cafeteria which is healthier and have mang options. That 2 alone are solutions itself. You have your money, you refrain us from affecting your inflation so much, we are comfortable and safe and can build better community and many new friends while studying here. The rent could also be used by the schools for scholarship to locals than the rent going to the hands of greedy real estate investors. And now the Canadians are blaming us alone for the housing market? Blame the greedy government and schools!

This was a great mini doc! But, it should have also shown how post-secondary “schools” advertise to potential international students and their families; they spread misinformation and are borderline predatory!

So a key problem here is out of control capitalism and the rising costs for everything. Schools wouldn’t be desperate for foreign money if the provincial government provided them enough money and their could\nBe more housing if resources were being allocated to that sector

I'm an immigrant and my immigrant friends and I were talking about exactly this just the other day. I'd like to add some context on why so few international students stay: they can't. Schools prey on this very fact. In international recruiting, these schools use the promise of thriving local industries and trot out graduates working locally as major draws to these expensive programs. Then once students are in Canada, many of these schools couldn't care less: they offer little or sometimes no housing support, no immigration advice (or in my case and many of my friends' cases: they give straight-up false immigration advice that can screw you over or even get you in trouble). There absolutely needs to be regulation and accountability for these predatory schools; I think a good starting point would be capping the number of visas they can apply for based on the number of housing units available (either on-campus or via local development subsidy and homestays). Tons of students come to Canada completely unprepared due to false promises made by these schools, and then get spit out into an egregiously inefficient and broken work visa system.\nMy immigrant friends and I are all highly skilled in our specific field. There are only a handful of people in the world (let alone in Canada) who can do what I do at the level I do it, so I would be incredibly difficult to replace if I left Canada. Despite that, and despite being Canadian-educated (Canadian resources invested in me that you'd want to keep in Canada), remaining in Canada has been a massive struggle for me and my friends. We individually spend hundreds and even thousands of dollars every year to apply for permits that have to be renewed annually, but take the government 6+ months to process. Because the government is so backed up, we have to apply for *extra* permits to bridge that gap (more money, and more work added to IRCC's already-long line of applications). I'm in limbo for the majority of the year where I can't switch employers, can't leave the country, etc. It's horrible. \nBut I have it better than most. Of the international students in my year, only I and one other student are still in Canada because the transition to work permits is so needlessly long and difficult. Even a graduate who does manage to get a work permit might have to sit unemployed for 6 months or more before that permit is active. How is a student supposed to survive without work for that long? In order for employers to even apply to sponsor a graduate, they often have to do a lengthy labor market impact assessment, and so these graduates are stuck in a holding pattern, and they're the lucky ones. Immigration is absolutely vital to Canada and I hate how quickly these stories turn to xenophobic rhetoric, but we have to make space in the conversation to take a look at how schools are exploiting students and policy loopholes, and why they're doing it, and address those problems. The current system isn't fair to anyone.

As a former international student (now citizen) I find it crazy that these diploma mills exist, I never understood how intl students can be so poor when I had to pay around $150k for my high school + university education. \n\nI'm shocked that the doors are so open that literally anybody can come in, that's not how it's supposed to work, going abroad to study is a privilege, Canada SHOULD be more selective about who comes through. \n\nAnd don't come at me about pulling the ladder up from behind me bullshit, I don't have a problem with intl students that go through the proper channels, but an intl student shouldn't have to work to survive, I worked because I needed experience on my resume ?. Yes, it's a privilege, AS IT SHOULD BE.

It's hilarious because universities are the biggest scam going and were made completely obsolete by technology about 10 years ago - in 2024, there's no reason at all (other than greed) why every student in the entire world couldn't log on to the same online classroom at Harvard (or pick your school). To take this point further, with a moderate amount of discipline (which, I'll concede not everyone has) you could learn almost anything you want to, for free, online.

We have a shortage of doctors and nurses, among other specialties. This according to the Trudeau regime itself. So can somebody explain the logic of giving away medical and nursing school placements to foreign students who will take their degree and return to their country? \n\nIn my basic understanding, if I have a shortage of something, I dedicate my capacity to filling the shortage, not to selling my capacity for money. This seems the shallow, selfish action that liberals decry everyone else does. \n\nWhat am I missing?

There are 1.44 million college and university students in Canada. About 550,000 of those are foreign that’s over 1/3. These students are paying 3 to 4 times the tuition of a Canadian. If 1/3 are foreign then universities are scamming both Canadians and the foreign students. There should be no more than 10-15% foreign undergraduate students. Canadian students are being rejected into university programs with an average of 95%. If someone gets 95 there should be no problem getting into a Canadian school. The system is broken for the tax payer who funds these universities.

No not when its out of balance. Its been out of balance too long now, Try purchasing a townhouse now anywhere in lower mainland or Toronto area. The supply is way too low and prices way too high. Good at the end of the day, we don’t need to defund things like police, what we need is to defund school. At this point, it’s a useless system that’s been overdated. It’s does absolutely nothing for the Canadian and the Canadian working class, and just gives international student a free pass to a PR statue. Which doesn’t nothing but take up resources. At fanshew college it’s basically a place with a bunch of immigrants using it as a holding cell till they meet the requirement and what’s funny is that all fanshew Programs and degree only take not even haft of the minimum effort to pass and get a diploma. So now we are recruiting a bunch of immigrant who are gonna rely things like our society infrastructure which ends up taking away resources for people that actually contribute to this country. There is another reason for migration in Punjab that is increasing population same piece land gets divided over generations and its not enough to sustain families so they prefer to send at least one brother out of country while other do farming the one that goes abroad help with school fees, construction of house, cars, etc. if there was a job here they wouldn't move out previous generations use to go in army for same reason.

I understand and agree with you. Everything here is expensive with high taxes that go up just about every year. Europe is much cheaper and there are many countries that are a lot safer. I understand how you feel as Muslims and I have nothing against other religions. You don’t have your calls to and I as a Christian I don’t have the church bells which happen to also be a call to prayer. If I was not 70 years old I would leave. I am not Canadian but I am a citizen, my husband, however, is Canadian, so we stay because leaving would be extremely difficult. It is not about the overall number, but the numbers of international students concentrated in certain areas that are overwhelming the infrastructure of those host communities. If there were a system in place that diversified their destination schools across Canada and better regulated those predatory fly-by-night institutions in the larger centres that outright lie to students to get their money, the problem would be solved.

Yes, Canada is accepting far too many students at this time. Many of those students are being scammed in their own country into believing that they will be attending legitimate schools but they are being lied to. Those students arrive here with no available housing, no school to attend and no jobs to be found!

Why don't you make your schools limit the class size and become strict on accepting overwhemling number of applications. If you just control students flow through immigration, thousands of students would just lose so much money on reserving the seat (which are partially non-refundable), visa and insurance application fees.
