Instead of blaming these people, one must question their own government authorities who make the rules and legislation to facilitate this. I know I am going to take quite a bit of flack here... as long as the international students follows the rules, completes their study in whichever program, and does not commit criminal acts then the students should be allowed to stay in Canada. Presumably their education would grant them a decent paying job. Now any illegal migrants or if one of the international students fails to graduate or commits a crime I say deport! I am also against international students from working full time, they should only be permitted part time work until graduation.

As an immigrant and now a proud Canadian citizen I firmly believe that Canadians comes first. Full stop. This whole issue falls not just on these students but also on the feds who abused the international education route to bring in more people and make it lenient so they get more votes and keep winning elections but it backfired. This happened in the UK about 10 years ago. All these fake immigration consultancies and mediocre colleges should be shut down so these folks don't throw all their money into this hoping to get a PR. Most of these students can't even form a sentence in English. Yet somehow they get here. We have a massive hole in our immigration system. I hope this changes if and when Pierre takes over.

Sorry, but I didn't know 'so many people' were leaving Canada. In fact, my European friends living in Canada, LOVE Canada. Their number one reason? The government is for the people. Their numerous benefits, programs and services (employment Insurance, child benefit, pensions, benefits for housing, student aid, family benefits, grants and funding opportunities, disabilities and their recently implemented dental care plan), says it all. Sure the cost of living is high, but where isn’t? Especially after covid and especially if you want a decent quality of life. Their car insurance and phone plans are also expensive but they're getting better. Stay out of the big cities if you can't afford it. There are other parts of Canada that is affordable. \n\nBtw, the healthcare industry, particularly the long-term care sector is a good place to earn a decent living. They are always looking for RNs, PSWs etc. \n\nIn the end, the positives outweigh the negatives. Besides having free healthcare and the many generous social services and benefits, Canada is also a progressive country with strong social policies, including gender equality, LGBTQ+ rights and environmental sustainability, (we’re drinking out of those gross cardboard straws now. Hello?). Then there is our natural and breathtaking landscapes, our four seasons, our excellent education system, diverse communities, friendly people, our cool festivals (The Calgary Stampede, Montreal International Jazz Festival, Caribana, Toronto International Film Festival, Just for Laughs Montreal, Pride Toronto are a few that come to mind), our great air and water quality, strict gun laws, legal cannabis… I could go on and on.\n\nIf you're able to afford living in Canada, consider yourself fortunate.

Indians have a very groupism mentality even within themselves although they are very friendly but for example, a group of Indians who are hindu and vegetarian will not welcome even other non-hindu Indians who may be non-vegetarian to live with them. Sometimes students from same study program also stick together and will not include someone from different program even though they go to the same school. But as a community they look out for each other in that way so chances of seeing immigrant Indians dealing with drugs and other crap that the white people do will be almost non existent. \n\nThe other ethnicities might feel threatened due to over whelming majority of Indians and they group together to voice their concern but those ethnicities are individualistic and don't care about the country or each other. They just get heated up in the moment as they don't see people who look like them. If Brampton was all rich white folks but still with a majority on the streets like San Francisco or NYC doing all sorts of crap , nobody will be complaining or make a big deal out of it. Apparently, that's acceptable.

Quebec did well. Religion and religious symbolism like a hijab, have no place in any publicly funded institution. These need to be religion free. i grew up in Brampton 20 years ago, a child of Caribbean parents. Whenever I go back I can say Yes, Brampton has changed over the years. I also remember that white/Canadian people were always the population struggling with substance abuse- particularly in the downtown area. Conflating the influx of indians with the downturn of white canadians seems to just fuel animosity and scape goat the issue onto a population of people that's probably just trying to seek a better life. why not ask the government to provide better social programs for those in need rather than fueling hate ? Why not investigate the structural issues that have contributed to this situation i.e. politicians gaining votes by doing xyz, or look into what people may be facing in the homelands? That would be a better piece of journalism imo. I think this video is highlighting this issue in ways history has seen before... can't we do better?

Not everything is cheaper and better in America. Medical care, drugs, tuition, childcare all more expensive. Also public schools system is terrible unless you have a lot of money.

I have lived in Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba and now Alberta. Toronto was beautiful in the 60’s and 70’s then it started to change to what is now overcrowded, expensive and crime ridden. I would not choose it anymore. Winnipeg, Manitoba in the mid to late 80’s was lovely. People were polite especially in winter, when driving was challenging, friendly and it is very cultural. People would say it would be the best city in Canada if it was in the mountains. Now I live in Edmonton, Alberta a dirty city with a council that puts high priced, unaffordable recreation centres ahead of services that would benefit everyone. Now they want to increase the population to 2 million when it can’t afford to sustain the existing population of 1,568,000. The taxes this year have risen to 8.9% and house prices are expected to increase 6.5% for an average price of $458,000. I lived in Calgary, in the Fish Creek provincial park area close to the C-train and a good bus service to downtown. 45 minutes from the mountains and Kananaskis, great zoo, vibrant downtown and if it is not much more expensive than Edmonton and is ranked 7th best city to live in worldwide. To compare the 2 cities, Edmonton tries to be world-class but just doesn’t have what it takes. The people seem to have very little pride in their city, the parks are a mess of weeds which also grow wherever there is green space and they very possibly have the worst and rudest drivers in the country. Very sorry if this offends anyone.

There's nothing wrong with immigration as long as it's controlled, people enter legally and do what it takes to adapt to the host countries' values.
