Alina, I truly empathize! Millions of us Canadians do. While he's not entirely responsible for Canada's decline, Trudeau's government's immigration and economic policies in the last 9 years have certainly exacerbated Canada's housing, inflation, health care and cost of living problems. I don't know if electing the Conservatives will improve things much, but they can't possibly do any worse.

Remember this, immigrants are getting FREE HOUSING AND FREE MONEY when they come to canada meanwhile we got f*** all.

Left Toronto this year and now live in northern BC. Best decision I made. The cities in Canada have completely fallen apart. Small town life in Canada is still good though, and much more affordable. But you have to enjoy small town, country life. If you want to live in a city, Canada is not it.

Trans, DEI and affirmative action policies of both the government and some major corporations are legalizing racism and discrimination. People should be treated all equal but that is not the case anymore. Toronto a few years back dropped the standards for Police and Firefighters. I started making plans to leave Canada back in 2013. I left in October of 2021, during the Covid insanity, where the people and Government of Canada revealed who they truly were. It was the best move I ever made for my family and I. We are much better off being out of the shit-hole that is Canada.

I too am thinking of leaving. Sad but our governments have failed the people again and again to the point where it's not worth living here anymore. I was born and raised in Canada but I am taxed to death and it's tougher and tougher to keep the middle class status.

I think it is largely due to really poor and incompetent leadership and to some extent, a lack of independence to do what is best for Canada instead of another country. We are in the process of leaving Canada as well. Possibly permanent. We have come to Canada 22 years ago. We can live a good life with even one minimum wage when we first arrived Canada. It was a dream land for everybody. Today, we are double income professionals in Saskatchewan and still feel living standard is poor. Grocery price is 5 or 10 times as when we first come to Canada. However, salary of average family barely increase. The spending of government is just out of control and make everybody poor. Canada is on a rapid downhill path since Justin Trudeau become Premier Minister, I can't see this trend can be turned back in a short time.

My family came to Canada in the early 80s, invested over $200,000 for 3 businesses over 35 years, employing over 30 Canadians. That's what I thought immigration was, a contribution to Canada's growth in exchange for our citizenship. That Canada must gain something before I am allowed to live in this country. This should not be legal. That's messed up. They're taking those jobs from people that actually need those jobs. They're streaming into the US from Canada to NYC by the (literally busloads) because NYC has a free housing policy for illegal immigrants. They are being housed while veterans are left on the streets - literally no room at the inn. Everybody is crying about illegal immigration at the SOUTHERN border, but don't complain about the illegal immigration at the NORTHER border. Didn't Trump build his 'big beautiful wall'? Did we not spend millions of taxpayer dollars on it? I know Mexico didn't pay a penny on it.
