I was born in Canada. It took 2 years to obtain papers for my husband and me to immigrate into Canada from the US IN 1984. THEY REFUSED OUR APPLICATION 3 TIMES.

I was in the Missouri when i got sick. I drove home and was diagnosed with a brainstem tumour. 10 hr surgery, 4 surgerical teams, icu, wks hospitalization. Months of rehab and homecare. The school even arranged a cab to take my 5 yr old to school. I have seen bills for pts who didn't make it home and had to have surgery in the US before being repatriated back to the icu i worked. It was an eye opener to see what they were charged for a box of kleenex, a catheter, an iv bag etc. I would have lost everything if i had to have surgery in the US. \nMy sister is currently in hosp in the US, and she is getting good care. I drove down last time she was in, and i was impressed by the lovely large CCU bay, but, hey patients are paying for it. She had a fancy postop CABG pillow to splint her chest when she had to coughed. It had a cute surgical heart on it. I am sure it cost $$. In Canada, we give our pts a regular pillow, some iv morphine and tlc when it hurts when they cough, no fancy cartoon pillow, but no bill either lol. She's a senior on medicaid so she's not going into massive debt or dying in her home to avoid going to the hospital.\n \nI have been travelling to the states since 1976 as a young child. It is already the case when its difficult to get a visa, imagine the situation if its made easier.\n4) Most of the Indian tourists fall under the mass category, they are not like the heavy spending Chinese tourists. We are not the most well behaved, so till we start getting more affluent, we wont be in as much demand.

I have heard the average just to have baby in the US is 7-10K not including prenatal care, here in Canada it is zero…\nI have been pregnant 3 times, sadly lost my first 2, and I have had 2 complete knee replacements and several spinal cord surgeries…I would be dead for sure if I lived in the States, here I have paid nothing, I have insurance and that pays for my medication I need to take. I don’t know about rest of the world but in the US alone, 700,000 Indians entered the country either illegally or overstayed their US visa just last year alone. In Canada, some Indian international students were discovered to have forged their education documents and now have been deported. Temporary workers are demanding permanent residency after work visa extensions have been cancelled due to housing shortages & increasing unemployment rate. \n\nIndian people in general are good workers but these protest aren’t helping and demanding they be allowed to stay while their documents are forged is upsetting Canadians. as an NRI who lived in US, UK, and Canada, I can tell you that the so called developed nations are over hyped. Yes, there are so many things that are better in these countries compared to india, but all these countries lack one thing. Respect towards fellow human beings. On investigation, it was found that they all came with fake IELTS certificate.\n\nThere are many incidents we get to witness the day after the day. So, we can't blame other countries. It's us who made us very cheap in the international market. Because of those Indians, the entire innocent, honest, and talented Indians community is affected.

India should stop e-visas for govt employees of countries like the US. Any US citizen who or whose immediate family member is a US govt employee should be asked to queue up at an Indian consulate and given an appointment after 1 year. They should be asked to submit various sorts of documents, submit their passport, wait for 45 days after which depending on the mood of the officer at the consulate, a sticker visa could be issued. This policy should be for OCIs who take up govt job as well.\n\nPS: Egypt had removed Canada from their visa on arrival list after canada began arbitrarily rejecting egyptian visa applications. I am a cruise ship worker and i travel US and canada every year . In 2023 i had my joining at dry dock in spain . And i was in Schengen visa center in kolkata . There i meet one sardar ji . He was their for the tourist visa and he told me , all his family members in Canada but his visa 7 times got rejected by the canadian authority. Now he want to get a tourist visa for spain and he have a plan to not come back . And he was telling me all those thing with extremely loud voice in front of the visa application center. I live in Canada. A citizen now, love this country but India is and will always be a home. Canada is facing hard times currently, which is being faced by every country now and then but even the cause root of all these problems Canada is facing right now is coming from somehow from India. The most disruptive and disturbing people are here from India only with no civic sense. They come here and do not value the Canadian culture at all. They do all sort of illegal activities and try to do jugaad in everything, from which we escaped from India.
