Would like to see a native Canadian- non, white, not Indian, not Middle Eastern, not Black, not Latino and not Asian. You know, Canada's First Nations such as the Metis, Iroquois, etc.

Liz seems to exemplify the following, which I learned in a first year macroeconomics course… The first rule of economics is understanding limited resources (supply and demand curves along with production advantages); wether you are a private entity, a non-governmental organization, or a formal government, this rule is unquestionable… Moving on… The first rule of politics, particularly with the progressive left (and I say this as a classical liberal) is to ignore the first rule of economics… No matter how sophisticated technology becomes, a centralized government will never be as efficient as the invisible hand.. Likewise, progressives these days (which apparently includes most liberals from what I see), never think about how open borders impacts housing demand, which impacts the market price for housing.. Yet, they somehow think the government can fix all of this (simultaneously ignoring that the government must become authoritarian to actually do so; all while demanding democracy - reminding me that democracy is two wolves and a sheep deciding on what is for dinner)… Anyways, maybe my initial conclusion is premature, just sharing my thoughts!

I moved to Germany in 2018 after being selected in Brazil to get a Arbeitssuche-Visum as a high skilled worker. At that time it was very easy to get a job, it took me 2 weeks to find something that I liked. But the whole process after that to change my visa to a permanent one took more than 2 months and a lot of help from my contact on the Bundesagentur für Arbeit. After that first job, I changed 2 times already, always looking for a better position on my current skill set. My recommendation: learn the language! Even basic german can take you very far.

I can't believe all the nonsense that was said on this video! Of course you have to learn the language, if you want to work in Germany!!! Has any of you tried to immigrate to Canada or the US? Nobody is going to give you a job, unless you can communicate in the local language! That is the same all over the world! European union countries have all got good social services and health systems. You want to benefit from the system? Then you of course have to be able to communicate! \nThe process is the same everywhere you go. The first generation of immigrants fight to learn the language and integrate, BUT their kids will get that for free and be integrated through the school system.

First they invaded from USA to Canada in order to get citizenships, ... .now they are going back, claiming to be Canadian...!?!?

I am Brazilian, living in Germany for 5 years. Upon coming, the one and first thing I worked on was learning German. Regardless of how open a society is/is not, if you chose to move somewhere LEARN THE LANGUAGE. You don't have to speak like Goethe. Learning the language shows respect for your adoptive country. That the Nurse was the only one to conduct the interview in German is telling. She is respectful, she learned German and is at home in Germany. Changing countries is never easy, but not learning the language is complete lack of respect.

This is all politcally driven. There are actually very few jobs available. There are hundred of applications at very job ad posted by all the companies I know. I keep asking HR people, where are all these advertised jobs in channels like this? Can DW actually make a study on this? I literally know also many German students who struggle on getting their first jobs, taking up to 1 year.. DW please explain this huge discrepancy

I think all we need to do is pay more attention to what’s happening throughout Europe! 40 to 50 hours a week? I work that in Australia as an Australian. Indian universities aren't necessarily recognised overseas. Even then I've worked with many as engineers and got uber rides from many just as an example. Different cultural system. This is just my personal experience. \n\nYou have to remember that India has been studied as on of the most intolerant countries in the world. I've never got that impression from the majority of other nationalities I've worked with. You can look up the worldwide studies that rank India so high for intolerance easily. These are large surveys. \n\nEnd of the day when you have large immigration spikes without infrastructure it is doomed and you will get a lot of misplaced hatred towards immigrants as low to middle class locals rents/ house prices explode. Not to mention the low skilled jobs that immigrants will do cheaper. \n\nImmigration is a cheap way for developed countries to increase GDP. Without planning and proper direction it will always fail on the whole. \n\nIm happy to debate my opinion with anyone. We all need a better approach.

I'm just curious as big as their countries are why don't they develop their own countries with the resources that they have instead of coming to the West? I'm just saying build up your own country's first ,please don't say we have gangs, drugs and corrupt government ?

I have been in the US on first as student and then on h1b for past 10 years, paid atleast $800k in direct taxes, my 2 kids are born here, but still process to Greencard/Citizenship is a distant dream!! Legal Immigration in this country is Broken!?

I think all international air crew should be required to have vias's just like everyone else (passengers) are required to have visa's. The Crew can still claim refugee status if they choose, but at least they were vetted first!!

I am English and when in the sixties I wanted to live in B C Canada I had to go to the Canadian Embassy in London with my husband for an interview….How I loved it, My husband went first and got a job straight away and i went six weeks later …My son and grandchildren are Canadian but sadly none now live in Canada…….Trudeau has ruined your wonderful country and the influx of so called migrants has destroyed it ..We now in England are overflowing with people flooding this country that have no business being here ..Why don’t they stay in their own country and build it up instead of coming to ours and dragging it down to the cutter….

Who would be against immigrants who obeyed immigration laws, followed every legal steps and waited patiently, then worked hard and honestly after they came, and became a decent and respectful citizen? No one.\n\nWho should be against immigrants who abused the system, jumped the line and got into the country or stayed in the country, by filing fraudulent claims or simply went underground, then worked illegally, or simply undermined workers' rights by accepting less than minimum wages, or jobs which totally disregard regulations required by law? Everyone.\n\nAlso every country should put their own people first, which include legal immigrants who are already there, and secure their livelihood before taking in more immigrants.

Because mass migration is a negative for the country and its culture. Public services quality goes down, security decreases, housing gets more expensive for the locals. Btw the same can be said about mass tourism, don't know if Canada also suffers from that. Me being Portuguese and having family also in Spain, both countries are suffering from both problems. Some migration and tourism may be a positive factor, but not massive and uncontrolled ones.\nIt wasn't a choice by citizens of any country, but by the transnational elite and its bureaucrats. That the Guardian and all the media promotes.\nAlso lets not forget that covid policies are responsible in no small part for a big bump in these problems. First with inflation, and then with the accelerated increase by Central Banks on interest rates, creating devaluations and economic problems in developing countries.
