the real reason behind immigration is to hide the housing market crash behind a veil so that people don’t see what’s comming . all these new immigrants come to canada and the first thing they do is get into debt for school , for a house , and for a car . it’s a business and the government and banks need them coming to hide the real state of the canadian economy . sadly most of these immigrants are taking the bait and going to find out canada is not all sunshine and rainbows .

Sometimes them buying up houses are the reasons the cost of houses have gone up in some areas.

I always said that. There is an economic incentive for homeowners to have the housing prices go up. This is why i think polivier will have a tough battle. Its important to maintain the strength of the doller. Im in the construction industry so i will benefit from building more homes. Currently not homeowner so my financial incentive differs

I live in a community out in the country, and our housing even out here is a huge issue, the cities aren't the only ones affected. We have the biggest difference in average wage to average cost of living out here and something big needs to change

Send all the illegal immigrants back where they came from. Those that want to stay need to apply for legal immigration, must be properly vetted, pledge allegiance to Canada, become Canadian, leaving hatred from their previous country behind, and cannot stay here while they wait. A moratorium on all new applications for at least 10 years. This way the back log of legal immigrants can be dealt with. Stop all new international students, put a moratorium on it for at least 10 years, stop all temporary and permanent workers. All loopholes used to illegally get into the county must be stopped. This will reduce the cost of illegal immigration and solve a large portion of the lack of housing. No more government subsidies to pay for foreign workers. This will open up entry level jobs for young Canadians. No more government subsidies for anything for immigrants. If they need government support then no, you are then disqualified from coming. No more abuse of our Canadian social programs.

Ways to clean up and get our country back:\n1. Remove work permit and guaranteed PR after 3 years for Indians only. They ruin the culture, ruin the social experience for other brown folks, makes brown folks from other countries stand out like creeps (speaking from experience) \n2. Deny anyone asking for refugee and turn asylum seekers around.\n3. FULL stop to non citizens buying land and property. Ex: China and Chinese migrants own almost 70% of housing plots in Vancouver.

They have little to none concept of living in society. Punjab people need none of it, and Punjab fathers are selling their daughters to strange men, so the family can move to Canada together.\n\n- Statistics Canada often talk about how our population is aging: However, they do not disclose how many of these aging population is due to Indian nationals bringing their parents and grandparents with them. If we got a million Indian people in the past years, that would mean around extra 4 million people over 50 years old. That’s 10% of the entire population. \n\n- They are scammers. You said yourself: To be eligible for a mortgage , you need to make at least $250k per year. They are landing in Canada with no money, and buying houses right away, because they have a network of people forging financial documents, and the also have people infiltrated in banks to approve these processes. Not me saying, that was national news. \n\n- They are extremely racist. They will openly tell you they only rent/hire/do business with Punjab people. Now, even the buses are driven by Punjab people, is insane. And you can tell they are new comers, because some of them can barely speak English. But is a well-known fact: Once one of them is in, they will make sure to bring in as many of their countrymen as possible, and only them. The DEI department of my company approved a Punjab manager, and now more than half of the staff is Punjab. English is no longer spoken in the hallways. \n\nSo these are just few of the complaints I have about them. I moved to Canada for a better life, and I have fully adapted to this country, and I’m resentful that this government allowed these people to slowly turn Canada into India. I was sold the idea of diversity, and I fell for it. I’m the minority of the minorities. Despite being a full Canadian now, every single day I think more and more of just going home. Canada has become so ugly, it's full of sky scrapers in major cities, we have way too many Fake refugees that Trudeau let in, in large number in such a short time. The price of housing is unreal for crappy homes and apartments, the health sector is the pits, and many people don't even have a family, doctor and like you say people die on the corridor of hospital without even having been checked thoroughly at the E.R. Heavy traffic, low wages, unaffordable food prices, corruption at the highest level in the Govt., no real services for people that experience distress in this dystopia and censorship that is beyond this world. This is not totally an Indian issue. The government lied to them and scam them working with school for profit and putting them into debts. They let too many people and crash the housing economy and job economy. All for votes they thought they could get from these people. The real Canadians are suffering and left behind. And the immigrants who came were lied and left stranded. They were sold the American Dream BS. Supply and demand 101, so now there degree is worthless. Only ones that will get by are the rich immigrant family and people with family.

Part of what's really making Canadians dislike immigration is the total disconnect between what they see, (low wage workers, protesting, cheating the system, large numbers of newcomers getting disability & using food banks) and what the government keeps telling us-- which is that they add to Canada because there's doctors and they'll be building houses.\n\nAll of our systems are going to collapse, because we keep bringing in people who take from them but never add.

Very similar problems in Australia especially in the most populous states - same housing crisis (at record low availability) and rising crime.

In the USA you get there and become an American. In Canada you become a hyphenated Canadian. No cohesive identity. I agree that we need immigration but taking the concept and stretching it beyond what we can house etc is not a sound policy. Libs knew the potential housing risk yet they forged ahead and created all the good press about it. We are by far the largest immigration point in the world and proving that we can’t manage it.

Immigration is good, but we have reached our limits. We need to scale back and let our essential services catch up i.e. health care, education, housing.

This problem is unacceptable - they want to be here but they don't want to BE Canadian. They simply want to be IN Canada and Trudeau fell for it! Schools accepting more than a certain amount of international students a year should be required to provide campus housing as part of the tuition cost for international students. This insures the student can afford both schooling and room and board and they won't put excessive pressure on the local housing market.

Canadian here, I dont think immigration is bad during times of calm and prosperity. As long as we have the ressources to integrate immigrants into society, there's no problem with it.\nBut let's say that these days, the world as a whole isn't in a very good state. We alrealy struggle to house and feed our canadians, we can't afford to take more people that will clog the crappy health system and the rare housing left. It's completely stupid. Same problems with mass immigration in UK, Canada, New Zealand, USA, Australia. In Canada it's disastrous because it's only livable near US border, and people go to the main 3 or 4 cities where they think of getting jobs. In Surrey BC many Indian landlords wont rent to white people, black people, East Asian people or mixed couples. That's Surrey BC Canada. This contributes to the housing crisis.

Honestly it’s not that I’m completely opposed to immigration in the proper amounts but currently the were kinda eating a** in the housing department, so it feels as though we’re giving space for something that doesn’t completely exist yet, which is also drowning out legitimate citizens from being able to have affordable housing, therefore causing some sort of aggression towards people trying to get away from they own crap, but everyone needs housing and likes it affordable so it’s understandable. Maybe we could handle this sort of intake in like 30-50 years easily, but we’re filling a bucket that has so much going into it, I’m not knowledgeable on Canadian happenings to know all the intricacies. Though a layman could tell Justin Trudeau is a large contributor to this line of politically charged thinking that doesn’t really think about long term consequences.

I'm an immigrant myself but I don't have pleasant experience with people from India all my 10 years living in Canada. I rent a place where the house next door is owned by a middle-aged Indian woman. She rejected to split the cost when my landlord suggested building a fence between our place and hers, because one time her one tenant almost run over my landlord when backing up her car. Recently the Indian lady rent her house to 15 plus other Indian people who litter their garbage all around her house and honk their cars at night, literally making the atmosphere much alike those slum videos of India I've seen in the past on YouTube. \n​I've talked to a few of them about the noise, they promised me it wouldn't happen again but they never kept their promises. I have no clue how to communicate with these people anymore, I might as well look for a new place to live.

We need more housing, it does not matter what home owners want, if home prices drop they will be quick to sell and downgrade which can therefore be destroyed to create high density Townhomes for families and condos for singles and childless couples.
