Canada has reduced the amount of student visas allowed by 60% this year due to how many foreign students were arriving in Canada and then not attending school (likely all crossing the border).

Even though I am Canadian, I do not agree with how our government is allowing the migrants into the US so easily. The US has every right to prevent illegal migrants from entering the US.

The question is how much money is Trudeau getting for allowing this loophole to entry - oh poor American citizens, the government you voted into office is betraying you - wake up!

The US could learn a lot from Thailand. Little to no asylum. Strict tourist visas (especially now). No work permits unless you have highly specialized skills in very short list of permitted jobs. A foreigner is not allowed to do any job that can be done by a Thai. Strict and often severe penalties for violating immigration or work regulations.

I live right outside Toronto and our government has allowed immigration to go unchecked for the last 5 years our construction industry is infested with unskilled workers disguised as skilled workers and the local unions are allowing illegal workers to operate using corporation numbers instead of government ID, the twist is the workers without government ID don't have to be paid the pensions or health befits witch makes for a 30% increase in money that remains in the unions pockets! If you are a legal citizen traveling on a plane or cruise, they check all your IDs, frisk you, and dig through all your bags. Meanwhile, illegals are allowed to waltz in unchecked and unbothered. If I dared tried to circumvent TSA I'd be tackled and arrested immediately but these people are given free housing, gift cards, and other perks.

Okay Im not a New Yorker and I do not have a horse in this race I did a little googling on it because I was fascinated. As outlined in the Constitution , the House represents citizens based on district populations, while the Senate represents citizens on an equal state basis. This means flooding New York City with all these illegal immigrants drives up the population and creates moue House votes for the state of New York. Now you may think, no that's citizens, actually it isn't. \nMore than 205,000 migrants have arrived in New York City since the spring of 2022. Now while New York's citizen population has been on a slight decline for the last 20 years. While the population is declining make it easier for illegal immigrants to replace those number more quickly. There are some inaccuracies in here. Since Feb 2024 Canada has required that Mexican nationals either have a temporary visa or are able to qualify for entry via the eTA program (usually business people and tourists). That doesn’t mean they can enter the USA legally.\n\nAn easy solution is to just legislate that foreigners who can’t prove that they entered the country legally (by stopping for an interview at an official border crossing) should be designated as here illegally and forever forfeit the opportunity to be here legally. So simple. \n\nOf course the constitution allows anyone to claim asylum without entering at an official border crossing. That’s a huge hole created by well meaning naive politicians. Time for a 28th Amendment I think. \n\nAs for Canada’s defense from Russian bombers….Canada could very well defend itself from those. Both the U.S. and Canada jointly patrol and guard the northern border as part of NORAD.

What would the impact be if we quit allowing transportation from New York into other states. Like shut it down. If New York allows illegal immigrants into its state the rest of the states need to reject trade and transport coming from New York.
