This so sad.\n\nSimilar thing happened to me! I grew up in Liverpool, England. I have spent the last 15 years living in Hong Kong. Going back after year was grim. The infrastructure was all rundown and poorly maintained. Potholes everywhere. Roadworks that took up half the road and last for weeks on end to no results. Car park with broken glass over all the floor. There were high streets that I used to frequent as a teen that are all boarded up, and I saw on TV last week because a riot erupted there over immigration.\n\nMy original plan was to work overseas for a couple of years to get experience but I don't think I could ever settle back there.

Thank you for this wonderful video, Alina. I feel the same about living in California and the overall situation in the United States. The cost of living keeps on rising while the quality of life declines more and more every single day. So many young people our age (we're about the same age) who have university degrees and have good jobs struggle to pay rent or even foresee a future where they can own a home. I wish you the best of luck in this new life you will embark on. My wife and I enjoy watching your content and look forward to see where you end up.

Hi Alina, yes I think most people must been kept in so much suspense and perhaps many like me must have move forward hoping the answer is there somewhere towards the end of your video. I perfectly understand what you say about Canada. I think it is largely due to really poor and incompetent leadership and to some extent, a lack of independence to do what is best for Canada instead of another country. Whichever country you choose, I wish you all the very best for a happy and more fulfilled future. Thanks so much for sharing this Alina! I can relate to what you're going through - I was born in the UK, moved to the US at 11 and then moved back to the UK at 24. I decided to leave the US because I began to realise that it's just not an ideal place to work and raise a family. The state I lived in (South Carolina) has a better quality of life than, say, California, New York, Oregon, Washington or New Jersey, but overall the US just doesn't do an adequate job of caring for its citizens, and the US government (especially those left of centre) has its priorities in the wrong place. The UK has its own problems no doubt, but overall the UK does a much better job of caring for its citizens than the US does. \n\nIt'll be more difficult for you than it was for me because you'll be going to an entirely new country where you have no family and no social network, but you're an intelligent and daring woman, you seem to be quite comfortable around new people, and you'll settle into wherever you end up very quickly. You could keep your Canadian citizenship and live abroad. \nI believe the war in Ukraine will end soon, and post war Ukraine will see an economic boom similar to post WW2 Japan. If I were you, I'd go to Lviv, and take advantage of any business opportunities there. You'd already have some useful language skills, and Ukraine is near some cool places like Romania. ❤

German language mandatory should'nt be made mandatory to having internship or work student. If they yhry continue you to do then this problems will be an never ending issue. They will always short for skilled labour in their entire life. Goverment has to think about

Took us 2 years to evict my dads tenant. I was shocked to find out that just getting eviction order isn’t the end, you need a final final eviction notice without return to court and straight to sheriff. AND Peel region only has 2 sheriffs to conduct eviction and that can take 10 weeks plus additional costs. Oh don’t forget, if the tenant claims to have cancer that buys them additional time in unit, and if proven they get at least one year free additional. Canada is a SHITSHOW.

Speaking German is a nightmare for foreigners. There are SIX different definite articles that determine the endings of every other part of the clause in a sentence, seemingly arbitrarily. (The rules have a LOT of exceptions!)

Germany is simply not worth the struggle you have to go through to do anything here. I wonder how soon it will be the situation where we will have to fill a from to even buy groceries. If people move here for the free education, get it and if you like how things are here then stay(no one can make you understand your worth) otherwise get the education get whatever you can and leave wherever you get the best opportunity. \nAt the end of the day you don't have to feel anything towards Germany or their problems with population or lack of skilled immigrants or anything.\nDo the best for you, health is more important than anything (mental health).\nI simply don't think the mental stress to navigate everything here which is exponentially fueled by the language terrorism they bring to the table is noooot at all worth it.

The ending is epic. Asking for hands out, telling the host country is not doing a good job, and suggesting that immigrants should be paid for learning German.

Classic. Just as I expected: not a SINGLE word about the fact that Germans themselves are leaving the country in droves. Why? Precisely because of the reasons mentioned at the end of the report, plus the number of people leaving for greener pastures more than doubled after 2015. Look up the BKA statistics if it hasn't dawned on you yet. Poland and Czechia are MUCH safer now than Germany. \n\nThe other thing that should have been mentioned are those tens of thousands of young Germans who don't aspire to learn a trade or get higher education. They aspire to nothing. I believe it's some 60K people yearly. That's a lot.\n\nAnd finally, despite all that massive influx of people since 2015, how come there is still a lack of workers? I'm genuinely interested in the employment rate among ppl who arrived in the 2015 wave and onwards. Even though German politicians of the currently ruling parties would never admit that the generous social benefits are a great pull factor for immigration, it's not hard to conceive, this is everday reality. \n\nIn conclusion, one could say that Germany is deterring the capable and attracting the incapable. The real problem is the dishonest people and frudulent rate sky rocketed.\n\nInternational student program was announced by conservative party in 2008 for international students to obtain a work visa that could potentially lead to pr.\nDuring 2008~2015 there was virtually 0 problems in immagrations with an EASY requirements with just 1 year work experience and finished college/university.\n\nThe student came here just to work problem we have at the moment doesn't make any sense math wise.\n\nAn actual college will charge 22k$ per year as a cheap cheap cheap option, university starts from 40k$ and goes up from there, on top of that the student need to purchase an GIC program at a Canadian bank with 10~15k$ and maybe also a meal plan in school BEFORE they even arrives.\nby adding up the cost, the person will spend 100~300k$ withing the first 2~4 years WITHOUT having any properties in the end, doing cash jobs will NOT even cover up the cost.

A boat can only hold so much before it sinks. Canada already had a big housing and unemployment problem. I know people would love to be altruistic but you will end up drowning. It’s the same thing in the US and Europe.

The real tragedy here is that workers need to become landlords to shore up their retirement, this is one of the key culprits in the housing crisis - you have to take someone else’s house and force them to pay you rent because you got there first. In the end, they’ll be no retirement for either the landlord or the “tenant” - not because of disputes, but because of the real elephant in the room. Instability, founded on inflation - you can’t create wealth without sacrificing stability - the Romans tried opulence and ended up printing lead coins. What we call from money comes from thin air, but really is worth it’s source. People fighting people when the problem is really the weight of the future.

So called skilled immigrants will lead to dilution of Germany but it’s not skilled but rather unskilled illegal immigrants than will be the end Germany .

So, this dude toward the end seems to think that supply and demand don't mean anything (everyone's money spends equally) and that bad things or decisions from the '80s and '90s somehow will be made better by flooding the country with immigrants? That is how fantastical these people think.

I am a designer and artist who moved to Saxony to reunify with family. I can say, being here for 3 years, it is VERY difficult to find a job in your profession when you do not speak the language. I am not a blue card holder, but my partner is. Despite our financial situation not being a dire one, I still look forward to integrating well in the job market and contributing my expertise + passion in the local society. \n\nI spent around 1.5 year reaching B1 level German (+including the waiting time for german tests, orientation course test and test scores etc.) Even with this B1 knowledge, you cannot communicate in a professional setting, more is needed. I also spent another half year time contacting our local Agency for Work, and experienced discrimination from their consultation service, a long waiting time and no assistance at the end. \n\nIt has been quite a discouraging journey, especially for someone who has high motivation to work and contribute. My current options are looking for jobs in Berlin, English speaker environments like Burger King etc. In my personal case, it has largely affected my confidence and enthusiasm for living in this country.

I am a senior developer from Brazil living in Berlin since 2022, I have lots of friends from other countries too and the most frequent complainings are about the inflation on living costs, mainly about how hard and expensive it is to get a decent place here. There is a feeling that people are not feeling that safe here too, but still safer than most of other countries around the world.\nAt the end, money talks louder. If you are having a good life and are being able to save something you feel great, if you are just living to cover the expenses the small things starts to feel bigger than they are.

Germany try to do this process quite unnatural with the Germans planning culture, forcefull learning German, adding huge bureaucracy in all processes and at the end low wages.

There are no democracies at the end of the day only tyrannies.

Better to regulate it before you end up like london or france.

I totally dissagree with the bald guy near the end. WE DON'T HAVE THE CAPACITY to sustain this forced immigration. The residents want it to reduce in scale by 80 percent for 6 years.

This should not be legal. That's messed up. They're taking those jobs from people that actually need those jobs. It's not easy for people in South Asian middle class families to get these jobs as their English is not fluent so these jobs go to privileged and educated families. The issue is corporate greed. Why is it too expensive to build houses? Because houses are a basic human need depending on the free market to determine when it is financially beneficial to build houses for a basic human need, the question is when did we ever think this would end well?

Intentional destruction of Canadian Culture. Canada has NO responsibility to help the outsiders. No nation can afford MASS MIGRATION without destroying the lives of their own citizens. Canada is a human resource waste land. I have seen people with hi tech skills come to Canada and end up opening bakeries. If the economy is growing fast and creating jobs, everything else falls into place. I moved out of Canada more than 12 yrs ago as I felt my career wasn't going anywhere and I would end up wasting my degree and skills. Best decision of my life!

I know, what I am about to say isn't easy to swallow. Because I also understand how prevailing sentiments of fear are, when it's easier to blame another group for our shortcomings. Problem is we don't get to choose who comes into Canada, but we are perfectly accountable for whom we vote. Who we vote responsible in the end for policies that make or break a Country. They draft 5-10-20 years road maps for a Country's growth, the trace demographic's trend, births, jobs creations etc etc. They are responsible to understand Economics factors and how they are interwoven into Global trenches. Furthermore they are responsible to manage money budget and spending but above all control waste. I mean Canada became an Global Oil dominator second only to Saudi and we blame migrants? I left a dead Canada in early 2000 and never looked back.

Bringing over temporary foreign workers (tfw) to fill entry level positions for less than a citizen is paid is a betrayal to both.\n\nYoung Canadian citizens are locked out of entry level jobs. Statistics show that half of the new immigrants in the photo op at the end will have voluntarily left Canada within the next 5 -10 years. Many to the US, and most of the rest back to their home countries, as they will find that Canada is not a place to come to to get ahead. Canada is over-hyped for sure. I know, I came to Canada and then left after 10 years to the US, where opportunities are far, far better. Save yourselves a decade of wasted time and come to the US straight away.
