I remember once I was doing some work at a Tim Hortons on Vancouver Island, where the staff was almost, if not entirely, Filipino. What made it interesting is that while I was there someone from area or district management came in with 6 more Filipinos and was talking to the manager saying that she just brought her more employees, just just picked them up from the airport and was taking them to their provided accommodations at the University. So Tim Hortons has long been a pipeline for immigration. \n\nJust further highlights the point of larger businesses importing people to subsidize their labor costs. Same thing with BMO.

They really do not show interest or adapt to Canada. All food Indian, all movies Indian, all references are Indian. Zero deeper interest to become a part of Canada, to understand Canada and the unwritten rules, norms. The purpose is utilitarian: clean streets and cleaner air, but with hearts in their own home country. A very sad thing to see.
