If US citizens do not want people from the Southern nations fleeing north then our government is obligated to help their government stabilize their nations. Latin here, I came here legally but I can tell you that it was difficult as hell for my mom to bring me here, it took money and years for that, but I want you as a fellow citizen to understand their situation first, in Latin America you could be graduation from college and even with that having a good job it’s difficult sometimes, unlike here education in Latin America is not always something that all people can get and every time they vote for someone it becomes more trashier, housing for the poor doesn’t even exist, half of the country is corrupt and going outside you don’t who you may find, my brother needs to wait 7 years to become a resident (not citizen) he will be 30 something at that point, what the government should do is make the residency easier and I can tell you something like this wouldn’t occur that easily, my mom is a lawyer in my country and I can tell you the situation wasn’t easy, every three times a week there would be shooting outside my house, drug dealer was my neighbor, and at the age of 15 there would parents of two kids the sad part all this is normal, stopping it is imposible because it gets you kill, the police will kill you for doing a peaceful protest just to stop feminicide, wanting your kid to go outside without being scare something would happen to them, this people want peace and a job that is it and when your own country doesn’t even give you the right for that how could you live? Latin America is like living in the worst state in U.S multiply by 1000 and happening the same thing every day, riots or protest are imposible there because you know the police will never go the peaceful way, what this people are doing is wrong but they just want to live, it even surprise how much people hate their president here when in Latin America there hasn’t been any good president in decades. Before someone tells me something, like I say what they are doing is wrong and it’s painful to watch, something should not be happening in the first place but it is happening and I hope the situation gets better but like I say before saying something disrespectful or out of place to these people, understand their situation first

It would be great if everyone having issues with their government rushed into their halls and restructured things so no one will have the need to leave their homeland. Fix things in house.

Latin American countries need a change to eliminate all that corrupt government. That’s why so many people are emigrating. The governments are failing. Also the crime, Cartel drugs and gangs are all working together with the government .

Folks, I need to educate many for a second. When you immigrate to this country you DO NOT become a citizen when you get legal clearance. You can become a permanent resident at best which means you can live, work and do most other things here legally. You DO NOT get to vote or work in government agencies as a lawful permanent resident. To become a citizen you have to wait a minimum of 3 years, or more depending on your permanent resident status, to then apply for citizenship. You then apply for the citizenship application and if accepted the process requires you to take a test and go through a series of questions about U.S. history and government knowledge in an interview that you need to pass, before you are awarded citizenship. Through this process you are SUPPOSED to be committing yourself to the United States of America as someone who denounces your allegiance to your old country and is now pledging your allegiance to the U.S. This is now your home country and you treat it as such. You are now an AMERICAN, not a whatever from wherever that just lives in America. It should be a big deal and one to be proud of. I know people that have been here for 25 years as a permanent resident and they still have no desire to become a citizen. They have lived off of this country, raised families in this country, worked and benefitted from this country and still align with their old country and are completely amiss to what it means to become a U.S. citizen. There is a reason that only citizens are allowed to vote! Because you should have an allegiance to America and should vote accordingly and not be allowed to work in our governmental agencies for the same reason. Legal status and citizenship are NOT the same.

Yes, it's great to let immigration in, especially ones that pay taxes, but it's overburdening both the rental/housing demand (which needs opposing pressure to lower prices) as well as healthcare demand, which is not being properly addressed. Instead our healthcare system is flooded. And it's inefficient and expensive as is already. We just need to tame the number of people we allow in, and grow our ability to self-sustain first.\n- It's too late now, but government policies to give out money during COVID was poorly executed, yet plentiful. When 40% of currency was printed in the last year/two, no doubt we will have inflation. This was never touched upon in the video. Resources/social supports should have been provided rather than just straight up $$$. There was an excess of money given to places they shouldn't have been. We saw a boom in industries like say hobbies and games, showing additional money being wasted where it should have been used for food and shelter. \n- Canadian government is not trying to be as aggressive to retain Canadian companies. We are heavily dependent on US corporations and hence the brain drain as well. Salaries do not compare, especially when remote work is now possible. \n\nWe are already deep in the hole and need to be more financially responsible. I'd strongly disagree with the last statement in this video that we are perceived as corrupt (there's been lots of civil unrest because of government misspending). We are civil and polite, but that's not what helps economies grow, as OCED forecasts as well.

You are bang on with your assessment. I am now retired but spent my entire career in the private manufacturing sector. Because of poor economic policy, I have watched the decline in the manufacturing sector to which I have been screaming about for the last 20 years. You cannot be a service only oriented economy which we clearly are moving toward. The last 8 years have been extremely the worst with the current Liberal government in charge - Canada needs better leadership and Trudeau clearly is incapable of providing it. It's not too late! The structural bones are there, we just need smarter people in the government to provide the right economic stimulus to make it happen.

I'm a Canadian living in the UK now. I love Canada with every piece of my heart but couldn't see myself ever being anything other than working poor there. I went to college but couldn't get a job in my field so had to take whatever minimum wage I could get, couldn't afford rent let alone buying a property so moved in with my parents and there isn't any support from the government for average citizens, only if you're an immigrant, disabled etc. I'm not against helping immigrants, disabled people or those that need it, just sucks that if you don't fall into certain categories it means you'll always struggle in your minimum wage job.\nLife in the UK isn't perfect but I was able to find a decent job here, the public transit is actually usable, phone plans and other bills/groceries tend to be cheaper and the working conditions are significantly better. Like I get 32 paid days off a year in my average job which is just wild to me! In Canada my sister who is a police officer only gets 15 days off a year and that's a lot compared to other people, like I never use to get any paid time off at my previous jobs. I miss parts of living in Canada but for the time being the UK is making my life a lot easier.

They need to go back home and help their government build their country. No one want to do the hard work in building a country, but they run to 1st world countries and demand a seat at the table and shit on the black people who built and fought for America.

I left China to avoid a brewing housing crisis and ironically I now live in Canada ?. I have seen first hand how a blind government can be overly dependent on real estate because it does generate a huge revenue in the short term. But most short sighted politicians failed to understand that the housing market is similar to the stock market, the value of houses can rise but it's just a bubble. When the bubble is so large that the hard working people who produce everything the society needs cannot even afford a roof over their head, then the shit is really about to hit the fan.
