Most people are not saying no to immigration. We do need some level of immigration. \n\nHowever, we need to slow way down to catch up and make up for the massive immigration of the past 6 to 8 years. Bringing more and more people, when we don't have the infrastructure or the economy to support them, is doing no one a favor (except big companies and landlords). Immigrants come here with the promise of a better life but end up stuck paying 2700$ per month for a closet in Toronto, working three jobs and 55 hours a week where they make 3400$ a month. The housing situation is the worst it has ever been. Rates are high, average cost of house in Canada is now above 750k CAD while the average salary is around 54k. Those are not sustainable figures. We cannot keep accepting 500k people a year, with hundreds of thousands of international students on top of it. \n\nI'm sorry if it ruffles the feathers of some liberal thinkers, CEOs, big slumlords and university boards but this is not a sustainable model. We've been going down in standards of living, despite paying heavy taxes. Something needs to change.

Sounds like the College problem, is how the housing problem started. Its greed and the notion that everything has to get better and better. But to stay competitive (greed) one must keep up with the times. So put a stop to the low time Collages. Put a stop to increasing immigrants . Put a stop to Trudeau .He is an imaginary fool. Canada needs to limit immigration based on available infrastructure.\nPrices have skyrocketed and people can't find places to live. One building owner laughed in my face and said we aren't building these apartments for Canadians. Listened to your vlog and I want to suggest few things as an immigrant myself... I am not sure of your detials but seems like your husband came back after 2 months leaving you there with family.. I have rarely seen any family settling abroad unless they have seriously burnt all there bridges back home.. if you start with a mindset that let's go and see and if doesn't work out we will come back 90% odds are you will go back.. firstly come with absolutely clear mind that no matter what happens you are not going back.. and you will make it here no matter what. The journey will become much easier and one directional.. Secondly you do not have to rely on any family abroad to move.. this is an other mistake people make.. they think they will have support but this support is actually a limiting option ... it doesn't let you get on feet quicker. Nobody can support you for long abroad and sooner than later you have to get on your feet. once you over stay your welcome you can start getting some unwelcoming vibes and then you get depressed thinking there is no one genuinely yours in this country.. you waste your initial time relying on your family.. better start without them in the first place and get going from day one.. and lastly 2 3 months is nothing to settle any where let alone in Canada.. you have to be patient, persistent and focused and after 2 years and after seeing all the calendar and religious seasons twice, you finally start to think of new place as your home.. its hard but in the end it's truly worth it and then you can never go back to India or Pakistan

Even if you are for immigration... there is another issue with this... Canada already has one of the highest rates of post secondary education in it's own population (something like 40% now) and with immigrants coming through other economic categories. It needs low-skilled workers far more than it needs university graduates due to is massively low birth rate.

Some of them come , right after grade 12 only one thing in their mind to get immigration! Most of them come to get same degree management or hospitality managing hotels ! These degrees don’t get them anywhere ! They all want live Vancouver Toronto no one wants to go to Manitoba Saskatchewan and up North ! People open up private colleges,have little room to teach them on line classes ! Money grab ! No one give them right information before they leave their country! We got not many skill student only business digress! Student from Indian love to get their PAR ! It cost them too much money to get here, but then they have to work hard to pay for their fees , or they have to buy work permit , it cost 35 to 50 thouesd to buy work permit as long as they work for same people for two year, not making that much money ! Life becomes hard !

In the long term widespread immigration is good for our economy and development, but we sorely need to retool to build enough apartments faster, for one, and the infrastructure to sustain everything (both physical and education, healthcare, etc). To an extent this is a chicken and egg scenario to get it started but we need to refocus for a few years.

I was so surprised when I got off a flight from Amsterdam. There were people right beyond the gate corralling what looked like South East Asian students to get them ready to go to immigration. And there must have been at least 30-40 people in a line forming. If that happens with one flight or a few inbound flights. This must be happening throughout the day, every day. I had never seen that type of thing before.

Problem with Canada is colleges and universities are not funded like US. For Engineering and STEM, US government and private companies like Intel/Microsoft/Qualcomm and many more spends million on research projects, and although US does rely on international students to fund students its not desperate like Canada. Besides, US has many college towns, no housing crisis like Canada and has robust economy. I studied in US free of cost with monthly stipend, fully funded by one such research grant. \nStudents should also realize sooner or later, especially in tech, that countries like Canada, NZ, Australia and UK are no. match for the United States. But then Indian students know in US they would never get green card. Canada/Australia/NZ were built like colonies, they don't have infrastructure- cities, roads, houses, airports, hospitals or even good colleges for such heavy immigration. They can take only limited immigrants in small busts.

This is Canada's version of the 'Great Replacement' theory, third world immigrants, students and eventually their families. I'd be interested in seeing the raw statistics of mass immigration vs job scarcity and value. Living in a rural town in one of Canada's poorest provinces, it feels like businesses are relying on immigrants to work for minimum wage, which is still $15 BELOW the living wage. Since they can hire people for less, they will do so. There is also the issue of these international students relying on and clearing-out food banks. They're sold the idea that they only need $10k a year to survive in Canada, and obviously they can't, so they rely on these systems (that were already struggling as more and more people face homelessness and extreme poverty) to get by.

My parents immigrated from Britain in the 1959s after WWII and built a comfortable life! At 72 I live a relatively comfortable life although I have spent all my savings and I currently rent! I lived in Spain with my much younger Colombian wife who passed away in 2019. My pension income is sufficient for me to live since I returned to Canada and I have better than adequate healthcare and dental care! Real estate in Australia is expensive because the nation is highly successful and ordinary citizens are wealthy, and this includes real estate, plus with 3 billion middle class Asian's right above Australia the Asian economy dwarfs the US economy to insignificance. Job opportunities are dictated by the fields the economy needs - oil is insignificant in Australia compared to other industries. Geographic Isolation - Thank god the rest of the world is far away, as an Australian I wish it was further away. Air fares prior to pandemic were reasonable USA to Australia around $800 return - but this guy lives in Perth so to go 4-5,000km to the east coast will be expensive - on the east coast a one way ticket to another city can be had for around $50 to $80 - Again for Australians proximity to the US market is not significant we are focused on the Asian region. Natural beauty anywhere is amazing but I prefer a warm climate over a frozen one - The Canadian population is all centered around the US/Canadian border region the rest of Canada like central Australia is vastly empty. In conclusion I find many immigrants want to move from Australia to Canada is proximity to the USA but for Australians the US market or lifestyle is not attractive or important.

Im from Toronto. This isn’t a post covid fall out, it’s the fall out of bad government planning and rapid globalization. \nFun fact, 1 in 10 of of council housing goes to homeless immigrants. This means they are pushed up the given homes before other low income Canadians already here. I take zero issue with us welcoming others, however i do take issue with the fact we’re stretching our resources so thin. . We got a bigggg problem on our hands. This is my 13th year in Canada, I am so sad to see the change, I really hope it will become a better country again with Trudeau stepping down. But we also have to be fair that there are not many countries become better since COVID. Many of you leaving or planning to leave Canada are more like rich country retirees taking advantage of the wage and currency differences between rich and poor countries. So let’s put it this way, if many of you have not worked your whole life here in Canada, will you still have a quality of life in your home countries, such as Southeast Asia or South America? I doubt majority of the population there is make a good money and having great work life balance, and everyone there could afford a decent retirement life. what is more close to nowadays reality is people coming here and hoping they could have a better paid job and settle down here, but most of them found out they are struggling to even maintain their normal life in this country, so they left. For those who came years ago, they made a saving which may not be enough to support a good retirement life here, but is more than enough in other countries, they also choose to flee. Then those successful immigrants will stay here with the option to travel anywhere they want. My son's classmate's grandfather immigrated to Canada long time ago who later become a well known cardiologist and was rewarded as one of the top 25 immigrants Award, all three daughters are now specialists too. I really hope Canada could rise again!

I am not Muslim, Christian by tradition, not religious. I am an immigrant in the U.K. for over 30 years and this is my pint of view… One common remarkable characteristic of us, all immigrants, is the fact that we will always criticise the country we are living in, due to the fact that we will always miss our origins, no matter how good or bad both countries are, and most of us subconsciously live our lives waiting for that settlement of living in the perfect place, ideally our original place of birth with all the positives according to the way we think, act and believe. You are a young couple with strong opinions, who will only find the right path for your family by living the experiences, and learning from them. At some point in our lives, reality always kicks in. It is obvious to me that all of the problems that you mentioned have just one cause: Too many people. Canada lets in too many people, refugees, immigrants...etc. Just stop letting in so many people, then you will have more jobs, less expensive rents, and less crimes.

So leave!!! Why bother to make a 20--minute video to explain why?? To make one last-ditch effort to get some money in Canada before you leave?? After all that Canada has done to help you, you still don't want to stay?? Then leave!! On your way out, try to ask people who try to immigrate to China how their experience is like. Ask them how long they need to stay in China to even get permanent residency and how much they have to pay to send their children to school in China. Jesus! Goodbye!!

Never mind. For one that leaves there are 50 in line waiting to immigrate to Canada. In a globalized world you can live where you feel more comfortable. Some Canadians and immigrants move because they can not stand those looong winters. Some move because they think Canada is too liberal. But at the end of the day , you must adapt to Canada. Immigration needs to slow down.. Born and raised and it's. A mess now. Ontario is like India now.\n\nCost of living in Canada I 1985 to 95 it was cheaper than the US, UK etc\n\nShortage of housing is due to to multi family families in one house that have 6 working adults to pay a higher mortgage vs a 2 parent two child family (ownership for them no longer exists in Canada sadly)

Anyone who crosses the border illegally for any amount of time be it five minutes or 5 years , it’s a life time ban from ever entering this country again . They have to pass a law like this and have include the ones already here , if you get caught you are deported and never allowed to enter the country legally again period never again. I would have the president give a speech encouraging all illegal immigrates that from this moment until 30 days from now you will have to go back to your home country, if you can’t afford it we will put you on a flight to the airport of our choice in your homeland.So for the next 30 days you will not be stopped or detained if you are leaving the country but anyone who’s still here after that deadline and caught there’s no immigration court with free lawyers you are gone with a life time ban . If you want to come legally than all the regular procedures are still in place . First find a sponsor, than get a visa so you can go to the immigration office and get a background check , if you don’t qualify than too bad it’s not our fault you don’t meet our requirements to be eligible to become a U.S. citizen. If you pass the background check and can prove you can support yourself and have a place to live then you get a green card and you get in line while you are in this country and wait your turn to become a U.S. citizen .

Canada either it’s good or not - one of the very few countries that gives you a clear immigration program, so you can prove you skills and come even without a job offer and be a permanent resident. You won’t have to leave the country if you can’t find a job longer than a month (hello Europe) and you’ll receive citizenship not in 10 years but in 3. \nAn alternative to Canada is Australia, but there are spiders and it’s too far.

I think people who leave the country is because don’t have the skills that required for the high cost of living specially in the biggest cities like Vancouver ,Toronto ,although Montreal was less expensive to live in compared to the others ones, \nNew immigrants coming to Toronto finds almost impossible to find a reasonable accommodation due to the high demands for housing ,family’s ‘re the most affected, One big reason some people are returning home is because the minimum wages at 18 dollars an hour -40 hours work , 2,880.00 dollars, minus tax, take home is 2,448.00 taxable at the rate of 15 %, , now your rent for one bedroom ,600 square feet cost $2.000 dollars a month , leave you with 448.00 to cover food, transportation , and utilities, at the end you haven’t save any money , So what to do just go home

What is missing is that many leave after getting Canadian citizenship. So it is a two edge sword...stay in Canada for the prized citizenship. I think those who leave with that are just using the system...short term pain, long term gain...also these issues about Canada are not new...anyone thinking the streets are paved with gold are not paying attention. Also much immigration is family reunification. Also, when one leaves were are they going to go...not the US these days...

Does no one understand that these people are political pawns? We have congress members and other politicians making promises and paying people to stoke these fires for votes. Only one side gains from this, Republicans. They would rather spend time flying immigrants to democratic run states than pass legislation or work at all.

You should have a country out of 54 in the world, that have the same religious/cultural background as yours.\nNo one invited you. You applied through a rigerous immigration program, and needed 3 years before being accepted as a full citizen.
