The government says we need immigrants to fill the jobs left by retiring boomers. Millennials, plus GenX ers out number Boomers so there are lots of people out there to fill jobs. Corporations like Mac Donalds, Tim Hortons etc. want immigrants so they can keep their costs low and make even more money.

Renting is the worst business in Canada. And the Toronto, Ontario and Canada Governements wonder why there is shortage of rental accommodations. I can easily accommodate one family in my home. But I know if there is an epidemic like Covid and the tenant does not pay the rent, I will be screwed. And rather than have a plan that can enable a tenant own a home, the Governments mentioned have plans that will make the landlord bankrupt and become a tenant! The tenancy laws are bad, bad, bad!

Canada government should not bring any people for the next 4 years. And if they bring people they should stay other provinces for atheist 5 years not Ontario province specially TORONTO.

Trust me if the Government owned the property they would freeze the bank accounts of the Tenant and have them removed . When its a citizen its too bad for them. Things have to change. Give a 3 month of no paying after that they should be removed

This is criminal...two sides of the story here i can assume...but both sides are at fault...the tenant is a criminal and the landlord should have done more...put pressure on the landlord and tenants court...the landlord and tenants organization is a joke...no one takes them serious because they have a huge back load of court cases is not an excuse...the government wants more housing with out properly funding the courts and they are costing owners money 3 fold. It's a systematic virus...these figures these landlords quoted do not even include the damage the location has after the entitled criminal tenant leaves behind. Also this is not a mental heath issue, its just a plain purposely planned out criminal act. If they are criminally charged and convicted i am sure they will be comfortable in a 10 X 8 cell for 2 years with free rent, utilities and 3 square meals a day. Ford never takes in account possible issues that can arise he jumps into a project and never considers the side effects...maybe in heart he is a PC but he acts like a Liberal. They need the back log dealt with and a special team to police this industry.

This would only make sense to me if we weren't sitting on stolen land and if the West didn't mess up other parts of the world for our benefit. They passed through a country that by that countrys own accounts have a great booming economy and is a great to place to live(according to mexican government). I have only been in Canada for seven months now, but I noticed a few things about its economy that led to this mess. I noticed that Canada has no globalized companies, meaning the government only makes a little money from doing business with other nations. Businesses here are lazier than their neighbor, the USA, or even in my country, Vietnam, which could be due to a lack of competitors. Cad also has the biggest forest reserve and largest oil deposit but is the lowest exporter. So I wonder how on Earth it stays in the top 10 wealthiest countries with such lazy activities. Up to this point, foreigners are the biggest income of Canada; this country is truly built on immigrants. To keep the country running, it must attract more foreigners. Without int' students, how much do citizens have to pay to keep schools running? If you view it differently, the government also sells the PR through SV Visa because, let's be honest, if millions of investors have invested, there should be something or at least one globalized company, but there are none. From $75k to $200k, foreigners can buy PR for every family member. It is considered affordable for Asian families compared to the USA or Australia. On top of that, another scam is a carbon tax, which means the government needs to learn how to make money rather than invent taxes and sell dreams to foreigners.

Never ever vote for the Conservatives, PP is just Canada’s trump. Ontario conservative government basically shut down the protection of all rentals allowing the landlords to charge whatever they want….!

Immigration is way too high….and India seems to be the priority for immigration dept. the infrastructure does not exist to support this influx. The quality of immigrants has deteriorated. The liberal government has mismanaged immigration and international students to the point citizens are being evicted for developers to rebuild or renovate for new immigrants. It’s disgusting….

Corporations and businesses want an increasing supply of cheap labour. The real estate/development industry wants a growing market. The International School industry lobbies for increased numbers. I'm Canadian. Canada isn't the same anymore. Everyone is basically broke right now, no onr can find work, and if you can, you still won't be making enough to keep up with inflation. Mortages and rent have doubled, food prices are robbing us, and we are taxed significantly only for our tax dollars to be wasted. \n\nAnother issue is Crime. \nCrime has gone up, Especially in the past few years. Not only car thefts and scams, but violent crime too. Every week, an international student, or immigrant is charged with the murder of someone in my city. \n\nMy biggest issue is that they can't find drive very well either.\n\nI'm not racist. Its important to have an open mind and be accepting towards other cultures. However, our country has fallen. I mostly blame Trudeau, his government is very incompetent. He has ruined our country

I hear from news, they will close all sanctuary cities across US in 2025, massive deportation start in 2025, taxes hike 4x in 2025 than 2024, including the price of the food & rent. A lot of US citizens can not afford to live for daily basics, it is mean don't have enough money to live. For illegal aliens they get support from our government to live like a king & a queen, live in 5 stars hotels in NY, free money, free health care, free phone, get a job under the table, etc. What guys think about that?

It's genuinely exhausting to watch even so-called progressive outlets like the guardian foment fear and anger against migrants and refugees rather than someone, anyone, possibly questioning whether the incentives for property developers and landlords might, in-fact, be a potential factor in the ongoing housing crisis. But sure, it must be immigration to blame for the exact same housing crisis happening across Canada, Australia, the US, the UK and half of Europe, must be just that one simple factor and definitely not any other systemic or economic factors which might underlie how housing, governance, and migration are linked. \n\nBecause all of those countries certainly have one thing in common, and you're all correct, they all have identical immigration policies, right? Right? Couldn't be the hyper-commodification of housing and development rights stoked under the neo-liberal systems of governance which ACTUALLY forms a shared commonality between these countries. Immigration simply has a low quality control problem and governments are being too generous with immigrants over their actual citizens. Exact same issue in Australia. High immigration levels despite the ongoing housing crisis and cost of living crisis. Local people are living in cars and tents, but the government wants to bring in millions more foreign immigrants. It doesn't make sense and it's not racist to say so.

Most people realize this has nothing to do with a persons race. Its population size. When you increase population size drastically it effects infrasture when government dont invest x amount of dollars into system. You have to plan. Look at our housing market. SUPPLY AND DEMAND ISSUES. When you increase population size and there's not enough homes to house people that only increases the costs. Whats going on is suicide to alot of people. Also media does not want to report why Liberal government has 4x increased immigration in a yr span compared to 1x. Also why is there racial preference for India? The amount of immigration coming in from India is much higher then other races. I'm curious about that.

Most Canadians are tolerant to immigration. However, we are fed up with the large number of immigrants the Federal government keeps bringing in. We have a massive housing shortage and they still increase immigration despite the shortage. The Federal Liberals believe housing speculators are the problem, so they put in a vacant home tax to prevent it, but how do you enforce this?\nThe real solution is to roll back immigration to 250,000 new Canadians a year until the housing shortage is somewhat taken care of.

When governments stop listening to their people something needs to give.
