What Canada NEEDS is AFFORDABLE Housing for the working poor, OW, ODSP and get the homeless who want housing.\n\nAll Pubic Colleges and Universities should be AUTOMATICALLY adding a housing cost for International Students. This way these foreigners aren't creating housing problems for the local community. So Colleges and Universities should be buying property within REASONABLE DISTANCE from their Campuses that are only for CURRENT STUDENTS actually taking classes. \n\nThe Government needs to be RESPONSIBLE for LOW INCOME housing. More people are finding themselves unable to take care of themselves. Which leads to severe drug abuse and homelessness.\n\nNew Development should be required to be the most effective version and sustainable version of Green. 15% of the apartments should be for low income, OW, ODSP and Elderly. This will help the Government properly plan out Public Housing across each Province and Territories.\n\nThe next question is why are all these East Indians who aren't becoming TRUSTWORTHY doctors, nurses, business owners competing to live in Parkdale, Toronto versus the East Indian Hubs in Ontario.

Self-inflicted negatives due to unmitigated greed backed by the provincial gov't. I liked TO and used to make regular visits. I'd stay in hotels or b&b's. Many b&b's shut down due to Ford's costly restrictions. That paved the way for hotels to almost double their prices. I can't afford it and very rarely visit. We 'little people' don't seem to matter to our so-called elected representatives anymore.

ABSOLUTELY!!! International students should only be allowed entrance to Canadian educational institutions AFTER all Canadians have been admitted!! Universities are using the cost of international students to GUARANTEE their salaries keep going up, EVERY year there’s a tuition hike & that’s NOT right or ethical!!! Some of these Deans & Professoes are making 6 figures!!!

Yeah! Much better live in Brazil so! Shut up!! High cost of living is very relative! To have the same conditions in Brazil, for instance, you might have at least 4 times the minimum wage. Violence?! Shut up again! You have no ideia about criminals!! Housing will basically depend on how close to the big centers you will leave!

What kind of country are we living in when immigrants move here and complain about the cost of living and education? If you don’t like it, LEAVE!
|

When I visited my family in Ohio, they were complaining about the cost of living. a gallon of gas was 3.74, rent and grocories also went up..

Is it the cost of living or is it Justin's policies?

It's not just the cost of living...Canada has become a dystopian nightmare
|
| 2024-06-03 | 0 |
In a discussion that I had on facebook, many canadians said that Canada was cheaper than USA but thats impossible the whole cost of livong its cheaper there, houses are cheaper, salaries are much better and you oqy less taxes, but if you talk about health services you will have to pay but with all that money that wont go to Trudeaus pocket I think you will be ok paying for a private health services.\nBy the way Ive thinking about moving to States as well but I font know how and if I can get a job there then I will get my green card?
|

Wow. What a train wreck of a segment. Clearly there is zero actual understanding of how to compare the costs.
|
| 2024-06-03 | 1 |
Are you kidding? Yes, houses are cheaper, but look at the cost of medical care, the murder statistics and the miserable education system.
|

There are no jobs, cost of living too high...it's that simple.
|

Heading a bit more south than that and heading to Mexico. Cost of living is just the beginning, but all reasons basically point to Trudeau.
|

High taxes. Ridiculous housing costs. Extreme wokeness. I'd leave if I was single.
|
| 2024-06-03 | 7 |
For the same job you earn less, pay more taxes in Canada and an insane cost of living on top of that. Why wouldnt anyone leave given the opportunity?

I learned little to nothing from this dude, except his niche market is going strong ?.. to be fair, this woman asks the really important questions rapidfire at the end & dude answeres the question w a plug for his tiny niche part of the market ?? A grade school class, w similar budget could do a FAR better segment ? whats available to whom, via NAFTA, is it affordable & how long does it take, how often does it require renewal, where is the best place to renew this rare employment visa, & again, the cost..

I spend my winters in the states. Cost are abhorrent there as well—even in a state like Missouri. Might be smart to seek out a more rural area in Canada.
|
| 2024-06-03 | 4 |
Same thing happening in USA; high rent, high cost of groceries, etc.
|
| 2024-06-03 | 23 |
Yes!!!! I'm an RN who fled Canada due to the insane tax rates and cost of living. I now pay 24% income tax, have a higher quality of life, employer paid benefits, and access to health care within hours / days rather than years. Canadians pay half their income to taxes, then die waiting for basic health care.

Thanks to Justin Trudeau for this high cost of living in Canada ??

These probably happened but your vid is creating fear and not informative. Canada is a welcoming country, and visa officers are trained to be friendly and not aggressive. As soon as you land in Canada, get your information straight. Know why you are here, where you will be staying and for how long. Do not approach the border officers with fear or panic as this video is trying to make you feel.Canada doesn’t just set people aside for deportation at the airport. Once you land in Canada you are protected by Canadian law and international law on immigrants . A visa officer will not warn you of overstaying your visa (if you overstay you won’t be granted visa next time) no officer will tell you that. That’s not their job. People can be set aside for proper screening or scrutiny but that doesn’t mean they are being set aside for deportation. Deportation has a procedure and it’s a costly process even for the Canadian government. These are assumptions. You are exaggerating! Don’t be afraid people, Canada is a beautiful and welcoming country. Information on your application has to match information you give in your questioning. If they don’t match then suspicion is aroused.Even if it doesn’t , they are so many explanations you can give as to why ( stress, airsick, tired, confused ,hungry cus of the long flight) officers will give you time to cool off and come to you later. If it gets to the worst, invoke your rights as an international immigrant and ask for entry to Canada being a safe country as a refugee claimant . Officers can’t deport you if you claim asylum at the border, they have to follow due process and your case must be heard by a judge. Create information, not fear!

It used to be easier to live here. Housing costs doubled in even the past 5 years. Everyone who has lived here for a long time who are not immigrants are facing similar barriers. The landscape here changed so radically that communities feel colder since everyone is forced to leave their community every time they have to move and everyone they know is now an hour away.\n\nCanada is still wonderful in many ways, but inner city life harder, colder and more expensive. \n\nThe amount international students are told they need is based on Canadian averages and not the inner city of Toronto and so many are met with shock and difficulty. \n\nAlthough, locals are not entirely sure why people came expecting things to be easier at the same time struggle was already happening. The policy makers come from rich classes and are very disconnected.

Stop the blame game , shame on you blaming immigrants and foreign home owners these are a tiny proportion of the population and homes . Real estate agents are the biggest culprits in the rise of prices. I’ve been there several times as telling me my house is worth hundreds of thousands more or we can say exaggerated by 30% or more then my house is on the market for a year which is nota big deal for an agent they have 40 other listings and access to more moneymakers , I’ve sold my last 2 homes personally within days or weeks which were reasonably priced not overpriced this made everyone happy . Building a home is never a problem buy the land get proper permits and select a quality builder I’ve had steady employment and certainly not rich blue collar salary and never have been refused for a mortgage so if you want to build it’s always available , if you qualify for a mortgage.\nAs for your immigration babble do you like to eat food if the answer is yes you should appreciate immigrants, do you like the care you get in hospitals thanks again to immigrant nurses caregivers therapists, how about the next time you stay at a hotel/resort thank immigrants for cooking and cleaning , \nSure stuff costs more you can put some blame on lifetime pensions for politicians and senators for a few years work , over the top spending on government trips , the Governor General expense on wardrobe, minister of whatever buying new boots or shoes to make an announcement total abuse of taxpayer $ , government projects which get cancelled for who knows why and many projects which are unnecessary which are beneficial only to family and friends giving their private businesses contracts , same old guys club new blood is required with new ideas and purpose . \nCanada is expensive I’ll agree but still top 10 to reside in the world if you like life and freedom , eating regularly, lights on , water from your tap, getting to your job on real roads , getting an abortion , not expecting a hospital bill when you arrive home from heart surgery, the list goes on , whiners are are whiners the rest are makers and make our lives better .as for other post saying things are so much cheaper in the states , I don’t pay 10$ for a carton of eggs this happened last year in Arizona state the facts ,

Taxes, taxes, taxes, and costs of living
|
| 2024-06-02 | 0 |
This is plain and simple. There are not enough places for rent. For both Canadians and a never ending population growth from outside canada that outpaces building. \nIn three months they cannot and will never be enough places built for rent to justify bringing over 430 000 people.\nSo based on that alone those newcomers will be taking a place for rent away from a Canadian citizen. It's not racism, it's not discrimination. It's fact.\nCanadian citizens or any citizen of any country should not have to struggle to find a place to live and be able to afford a place to live because the governemt increases the population from outside faster than they can build. It's irresponsible, selfish, and outright wrong.\nIts not the politicians who are suffering or the businesses who will never make enough profit(look at the grocery sector.) it is the people within Canada.\nI am not against immigration. I am against the amount until infrastructure can keep up with the influx of new people. And even then it cannot be a one for one. It should be at least 2 to 1 and new growth. Anything more than that and the cost of housing will outpace inflation.\nPlus senior citizens(who helped build this country) , veterans, people on disability, and mental health/addicts recovering, deserve the increased financial help instead of the money that is sent to other countries..

The very hard cost of living just really shows how it's not going to be healthy living around Toronto.

From a humanitarian perspective though, just give those people some safety, or is he saying it's better for them to be killed off in their land than come to his for a life? His pretty words aren't stopping Eezrraaeel. Look at the cost they have to pay to go to Egypt. If he feels that way, then take action to stop the genocide.\n(Btw I'd be happy to be corrected on Arabian contribution but the reality is Dubai still keeps building twisted constructs and this is happening in the Arab world at the same time)

Foreign students must leave when the visa is expired. Period. Just like every other country. You want to protest and take action in a court of law? Costing the taxpayers and clogging the courts…That is not necessary as the law clearly applies. Deport immediately (from protest to plane) and ban for life. USA style.

Our housing crisis is caused by the governments of Canada\n 1st they started obstructing the building of new houses with these massive years long processes to get the permits\n Some cases 5 to7 years\n The development permit to build a development cost more than it does to build the buildings.\n At the same time they have been bringing in a million people a year.\nWhile this government and all of the other governments for the last 40 years have obstructed industry from getting permits to build anything.\n The middle class is all but gone in Canada and no sign of it to return because you can't do anything you're not allowed to do anything.\nCanada historically had no real homeless population and had the strongest middle class today we have near 500,000 homeless.\nOr you could say about 3% of the population.

I'm from Saskatchewan and it is one of the most beautiful Province in Canada for the retirees and it has lots of recreational wildlife places to visit and the cost of living is much cheaper than the other Provinces in Canada with the exception of Prince Edward Island (PEI). But only the weather during the winter months is much colder.

He is a WEF Marxist and changing Canada into a WEF nightmare by destroying our way of life, security, economy, and targeting every citizen through increased taxation, a housing crisis, spiralling food costs all while obsessing over 'climate change' as the excuse for everything under the sun.

I would never move to the US. Not on your life. Your statement that one can get healthcare for several hundred a month is ludicrous. Most Canadians don't have to pay anything, except their taxes, which are not higher than most Americans pay. And the huge costs of healthcare pop up at the worst time, when you're really sick. But that isn't the only reason. I loathe American politics. I loathe the American tendency to brag about how great they are. We Candians are not the greatest country on Earth. We can take advice from other countries. Americans tend to go on bragging and insisting their way is best long after they've been proven to be wrong.

Trudeau causing problems, to put us off with cost of living!

I disagree with the comment Alberta is a cheaper place to live in..the cost of living here is very high, I wished people making these statements would know all the facts, we have so much oil but pay through the nose for gas, so don’t anyone, get the idea\nThat it is cheap in Alberta, winter is very difficult.

Hey, got a question for you! Looking to move to canada soon as a game developer, but the high cost of living and terrible healthcare (because i have adhd) will definitely affect me. Do you think in acouple years the costs and healthcare will be fixed/better?

Quebec should win the prize as a good place to live in Canada. First of all, the cost of living is lower than elsewhere in the country, despite the fact that Quebecers are the highest taxed citizens in North America. Also, there is a certain art of living in Quebec, the fruit of 400 years of history and culture in French, which stands out from pan-Canadian uniformity.

Too many people being brought in. STOP cramming immigrants into the country, ruining our infrastructure, driving up housing and straining social services with their costs. Just stop it!
|
| 2024-05-25 | 0 |
Both federal and provincial governments are complicit regarding the housing shortage. They knew WELL in advance that accepting too many immigrants, and not building a matching number of dwellings for them would cause housing shortages and push up prices greatly. They also knew WELL in advance that higher housing costs would destroy discretionary income and push living standards down for the working class. There's no surprises here. If they say otherwise, know for certain they're lying.\n\nCanada's economy is suffering because too much income must be allocated for housing, leaving far less for everything else. The result is increased unemployment, which will only get worse as more and more mortgages are renewed at high interest rates.\n\nBottom line: Canada is being converted into a two tier society. Those few that have abundance, and the many who have little.

Anyone else notice that the increase of truck driver accidents correlates almost exactly alongside the time that we make Indian truck driving licences count in BC? If you are born in Canada these days it costs $19000 to take the class 1 test, but if you are an Indian immigrant you just need to prove that you drove truck in India and they give the licence to you.

Thats a good answer but he should have added that it cannot come at the cost of Israel. Both sides have a right to live in that region in peace. Arabs (Palestinians) and currently Hamas have been trying to eradicate all the Jews since 1937 atleast when they made deal with Germany to do that. They need to make a choice to break the cycle and try to come up with a good leadership to declare independence and form sovereign country and live in peace with their neighbours.
