Native Canadians: First time ??

I find it really funny that these people claim that housing is such a big problem and instead of suggesting that they should build more housing (which should really be the first thing that comes to mind), they blame the immigrants.

My heart goes out to my fellow Canadians, it also feels so heavy watching this because we see it on a daily basis & it eats you up so deeply. I honestly couldn’t watch this fully without constant tears flowing. I was born and raised here, my grandfather fought for this country & I have First Nation family members. Canada is not what it used to be, it’s beauty deserves respect.

first i am an immigrant for 20 years. i see the problem has been rising. \nthe problem is not just immigrant, its the overseas students also. Gov try to solve the issue but they are doing it blindly. the problem are those small schools that focus on making school as a business and let people get working visa. \nwe need doctors and nurses so badly. why cant we take more doctors and nursing, have universities specifically train then. we can also have golden visa and wealthy immigrants to come in . we dont just need cheap labour, we also need money. \n\ni cant wait for next election to vote this gov out!

Family immigrated there in 85. Back then my parents needed to prove and bring certain assets as part of the requirements. \n\nNow it seems they don’t really care, just come in with nothing, and the first thing to figure out is how to get the gov to pay out to sustain.\n\nHow this change came about… got no idea. \n\nAnd when looking at it culturally, that has changed as well. Being Chinese, we brought along our traditions. Those were celebrated and introduced to other Canadians, and it was a joyous thing. That being said, Canadian culture should come first and foremost. That should be understood. You are living underneath someone else’s roof, you should learn their culture and accept it. If not, why are you there.\n\nNowadays, it feels like it is a right to alter, and place your original culture above that of Canada’s. That’s just weird. Why did you move there in the first place if you can’t accept and get along with everyone else there.\n\nI decided to move back to Hong Kong because I didn’t like it, and for people that feel the same, get out of there. People that want to stay in Canada should be contributing, and live like a Canadian.\n\nProud to be Canadian, but it feels different now. Only hear crimes and homelessness, drugs… gun violence. How things have changed in these past 25 years or so.\n\nI do hope the gov wakes up. But yeah, not betting on it. Wish my fellow Canadians the best of luck. It’s a pity that groups fighting for this issue is being called racist. Utterly ridiculous… the power of the western media. ?

The Trudeau Liberals have used immigration to keep top line GDP numbers high. What people don’t talk about are GDP per capita figures falling below 2014 levels. Gen Z Canadians are the first generation in the history of the nation to have had worse living standards than their parents. \n\nEngland is a window into the future. Lets wise up and make some changes before it’s too late.

First of all you wiped out indigenous people of Canada and living in their land. So you should also ready to pack your bags
2024-08-06 0
CANADIANS NEED TO BE PUT FIRST. THAT'S NOT RACIST OR ANTI-IMMIGRATION. THIS IS CALLED HAVING A RESPONSIBILITY TO YOUR OWN CITIZENS. NATIONALISM ISN'T A BAD WORD.
2024-08-06 0
There is no jobs and everything is expensive. Canadians are first.
2024-08-06 0
Native Canadians like aboriginal people or first nations? White people are immigrants too you are simply justifying your racism

I will watch this video yet but my first response: is this rhetorical?\n I will comment here after I’ve watched the video. I am the son of an immigrant and am currently dating an immigrant.

The First Nations people would like a word about the country not being “what I want”
2024-08-06 0
They say imigration of wealthly individuals curved a recession. First off it was like 0.2 an 0.1 in two quarters so dont act like it wasnt that bad. Also injecting 100's of thousands into the population shouldnt be the fix. Your barely doing your job an pricing everyone out. Its the laziest thing the could have done. Im pro immigration but not like this
2024-08-06 0
To the first guy. How about Canadians having way more babies? But I’m misogynist for saying that.
2024-08-06 0
No it's not on the rise, it's always been there, First Nations against Europeans. Now the Europeans are beginning to see what the First Nations tried to stand against.
2024-08-06 0
We need to take care of Canadians first
2024-08-06 1
I’m an immigrant from Europe, who’s been in Toronto for a decade and all I can say is that if this is going to continue to happen, I’ll be the first out of the country in the next couple of years as it’s unsustainable to continue bringing more people from others countries and specially from non western countries as it seems difficult for some to adopt Canadian values. Canada is going down the hill at an unprecedented pace.

It’s not racism or anti immigration it’s anti current policy Trudeau is allowing millions from one region and there’s no HOMES. No apts. no rooms for rent enough for Canadians. They all come to the GTA. I worry my kiddo won’t have housing for uni when of age and won’t even experience a summer job or as a teen as all retail and all jobs previously for youth to gain first employment and experience are now taken by newly arrived immigrants and they keep the positions as they don’t actually come for degrees and schooling for needed areas of employment in the country

Canada used to have a fairly sane immigration policy - immigrants needed to have a level of education and/or skills that would contribute to areas of Canada's economy and growth - skills or education in fields where there was need for people. Part of the problem now is that so many people are allowed in as refugees, with no usable or useful skills. Another part of the problem is that Canada does not have the infrastructure to accommodate so many more people - we should first build the infrastructure, then allow just the number of people we can house and employ. Another policy should be that our local and provincial governments should have decision making authority where immigrants settle. Huge influxes of people into already crowded urban centers makes no sense - immigrants need to be told what areas of Canada they may go to.\n\nNo culture or group can maintain identity and stability if overwhelmed by large numbers of outsiders. We should limit immigration to the number of foreign cultures and languages that can be successfully integrated into our society.

If we need to fix poor infrastructure, train and use the people here first. So many Canadians, youth without jobs, homeless. Give my 21 year old educated son an opportunity first. He struggles to get a job. I don't buy the excuse that we need this much immigration now. This is a political move.

Chicago USA....welcome....first generation Ukraine....I was born here and mother born in a camp during WWII....had a sponsor and took 7 years go be a US citizen....Chicago is well you will see in August

The reality is that sufficiently high rates of migration put stress on an entire nation, and recent immigrants are, ironically or otherwise, hurt first and foremost by this.

As an immigrant myself, moved to BC over 25 years ago and I am always grateful for the opportunity I had in Canada, through hard-work and dedication, got proper education and experience right now. However, this immigration open door policy doesn’t benefit anyone. Canadian government should put a stop to it until they can actually put their own citizens first!
2024-08-06 0
I visited Canada 15 years ago and that was my vision of the country. Sadly, although still being a first world country, is decaying. Im living in Canada because that was my dream 15 years ago, and although still a good option, is definitely not what I was expecting.

In Canada, diversity means bringing more people from India! The politicians are ignoring real Canadians when they spend billions to put asylum seekers in hotels!! When will there be a Govt who takes care of its citizens first?
2024-08-06 3
As a first-generation immigrant who grew up in Toronto, Canada, especially Ottawa and big cities in Ontario, have become unrecognizable as a result of immigration! I’ve been priced out of my home province! It also doesn’t help that the immigrants these days overwhelmingly come from countries with very different cultural values

Let me get this straight.... I am an Indian, and we are simply sick of Canada immigration policy !! It's so dumb !! Seriously, make it harder ... Like extremely hard like any other first world country ... I feel bad for Canada!! You can't blame anyone but you're own government because there are a billion indians, who you gonna stop ?... Instead focus on quality immigration just like US or other first world countries. And i am really very very sorry ❤ SORRY !!\n\nEdit:\n\nAlso ... Also !! The immigrants you're allowing are pretty much extremists, like wth .... It's a huge headache for Indians and the Indian government, remember the huge fuss over the death of Hardeep nijjar ?? Why ?? Why let extremists even come .... As an Indian I feel disgusted even calling them Indians cuz they keep talking about breaking apart india itself ( especially Punjab ) .... But why ... They should help the economy grow and flourish but instead they indulge in such things and the government supports it !!!?? Uk the best thing you could do as a country is stop immigration ( at least from Punjab ) and 90% of your problems will be over !! See dumb people are all over the world but your immigration cell for some reason selects the dumb ones from India ... Just do what us is doing, ask them or something !!

Immigration is no different than any other policy, its simply more visible. I would argue that people are getting tired of government simply dictating policy. I'm in the maritimes, which has long been neglected by the federal government and immigrants NEVER settled here. \n\n Our economy is growing for the first time in generations and thats due to immigration, even our conservative Premier admitted that. \n\n That said, immigration is being dictated by INDUSTRY, even the opposition hardly talks about it. Its simply crazy to be bringing in this much immigration this fast. There is no 'hurry' for immigrants, or there certainly shouldn't be.

The liberal government is failing at vetting new immigrants properly. Not to mention it is vastly changing every aspect of Canadian life (the plan in the first place by liberals) What do you expect? People to be happy?
2024-08-06 0
It would have been interesting to get the take of the First Peoples of Canada on how immigration affected their forefathers, their culture, their land and their lives.
2024-08-06 0
Taxpayers are footing the bill & suffering the consequences. Liberal govs are not listening to the people they're supposed to protect & represent FIRST. List is too long but anyone paying attention knows.

Its not fair for people immigrating here and cant find work and housing. We are all immigrants here in North America but i think we need to pause immigration for at least 5 years and help the people here first before we start immigration again.
2024-08-06 0
Who moves to another country without checking it out first, or does research? Dumbest thing I've heard to be this naive, especially when they probably heard horror stories already.

As a child of first generation immigrants and now lived here for 80% of my life and calling Canada my home, I empathize with how difficult coming to a new country is and the generosity of Canadians. I'm proof that the Canadian dream is possible; thanks to my teachers, social workers, friends, and community at large, I now make more money than both my parents combined, have a house and 2 dogs. While there's hard work at play, it's also the warmth of everyone that's made this a reality. I hope we can have a realistic and win-win plan of integrating immigrants, provide immigrants and residents the opportunity to work hard towards their dreams so we can ALL live a better life.

Available and affordable housing is a difficult enough to maintain anywhere. It should be available to citizens of Canada first. Same in the US..
2024-08-06 1
The first nations is asking the same thing.
2024-08-05 0
Canadian government is begging immigrants to fill their job requirements . You don't study hard, work hard, dream big. What do you expect from your government. Look arround the streets of Canada filled up with drug addicts and lazy people. The immigrants are making your country move , not you. Help yourselves first.

House American first!
2024-08-05 0
Your report is very des ingenuous\n\nFirst off Canada has now altered its visa policy. Mexican Citizens now require a Canadian or US Visa to visit, along with an ETA.\n\nMost of the other nationals like Indians requires Canadian Visa to enter Canada. A Canadian Visa is one of the hardest visa to get.\n\nIn addition, Canada and the USA have bilateral agreements, compelling asylum seekers to make their Asylum Claim application in the first country

Classical failed liberals again and again. First, the liberals create this massive crisis, and then they want to be seen as fixing the problem.
2024-08-05 0
All 13,000 of them were in the US first, then came to Canada, realized the grass wasn't greener, and went back.

Ahaha, lithuanian national)) those people always repeat how much they love their country, along with polish and Ukrainians, but the first chance given they all just move somewhere else ...and of course it's ALL Putin's fault

The cartel guys are resourceful, they probably charge the same but less hassle to use the northern border. If I would be the cartel I would send endless amount of people and charge them when they have arrived at the destination. As NY give them money I would take 10% for the first year for example. Easy money and not illegal. As long as the money keep coming the people will turn up.

This is normal.\nKindly read the reason first.\nPeople are migrating from India ( especially Punjab) to Canada at Large scale. They'll easily get job there. But what for those who are Canadian, they are unemployed because of them only.
2024-08-04 0
Canada is an asylum country so by law migrants are supposed to seek asylum at the first country they land in with that status . BTW Mexico is also an asylum country , being it has one of the strongest economies of the world . not owning a tesla does not make you a refugee . It makes you greedy .
2024-08-04 0
The solution is simple, just automatically return everyone to their countries unless they prove they come from a country at war or in a civil war. This will discourage the onslaught and dial down the numbers.\n\nPeople wanting to immigrate for economic reason are welcome, if they knock on the door and ask permission first. Fence jumpers need to be put on a transport back home.
2024-08-04 0
So these people are just playing pick a first world country? If you don't like it you can just move on to the next one?
2024-08-04 0
"Thousands fleeing extreme poverty" - wake up my friend. When you live under extreme poverty, you can't afford to travel by plane or even buy a suitcase. All of those pretended immigrants are coming here because we are excessively generous and naive and they know that. They'll wipe us out at the first occasion.

Someone should help them build houses in thier own countrys, construction machinary and tools are on sale in first world countrys.
