I guess I’ll be having to move to the US if I want any chance of getting housing or work. People who haven’t physically seen the stuff that’s happening here only know the bare minimum. Everything is too expensive, there’s no “Canadian culture” anymore, you can’t get a job, you can’t find a decently priced apartment, rooms for rent (private) are going for 1200$ a month in Toronto (and I’ve seen more expensive). I’m not excited to grow old in the country where I was born as it’s being run straight to the ground. It’s very sad.

Interesting to hear a Canadian perspective. Taking the politics out of it, what is ultimately impacting where I live in the UK is overpopulation and a simple case of supply vs demand. Views are so polarised it’s crazy. We need the voice of reason, but it’s nowhere to be seen.

I love my fellow Canadians, I even used to work in Brampton and bus home with all the immigrants, now living in the west coast. Over the course of 20 years I’ve watched this country go from class to trash.

Intentional destruction of Canadian Culture. Canada has NO responsibility to help the outsiders. No nation can afford MASS MIGRATION without destroying the lives of their own citizens. I think all we need to do is pay more attention to what’s happening throughout Europe! Mass migration is destroying everything in its wake, it should and must be stopped immediately, this country is not prepared nor able to support any more immigrants, what we need is to take care of and create security for the Canadians born in this country, the natural population, not immigrant population, extend our hand when we are certain that our own future security is firmly rooted! Including our laws, and ideologies,First Nations and generational Canadian before immigrants.

Bringing over temporary foreign workers (tfw) to fill entry level positions for less than a citizen is paid is a betrayal to both.\n\nYoung Canadian citizens are locked out of entry level jobs. More Canadians are leaving major cities or Canada in general. The quality of life has dropped so much more in recent years but there were signs earlier right about 2009 when the market crashed. The Canadian dream is over

you come canada with student visa, you get open work permit. easy 4-5 million came over two years. Canadian cannot fidn a job anymore. thanks to government.

The majority coming in are students looking for easy access to citizenship - not filling job positions. Those that do get jobs - many are those that used to be for Canadian teenagers (Hortons, McDo etc).

Don’t blame the government’s failure to provide adequate housing on immigration. The housing crisis exists even if no more immigrants arrive. All levels of government failed in recognizing housing as their highest priority. The City of Toronto for example, is spending money and councillors’ energy rename street rather than putting that towards housing. The Canadian government is littered with incompetence, starting at the top.

I feel eventually this will even itself out as many new Canadians will go away as they won't be able to afford living here or they will realize their soft skills will not suffice to stay.

This has always been the deal with immigration. A Canadian citizen of British roots will come to you in 2024 complaining about immigration that made his life miserable.. forgetting that his ancestors were immigrants themselves 200 yrs ago.
