These Indian students giving such kind of opinions without realizing that they came the same way as the ones struggling now. They take for granted their current situation of privilege for having a valid study permit and a pgwp later on, however, in a few years, they’ll be walking in their shoes as well. The truth is that this country has an economy to maintain and sadly they are not concerned about your personal realization or you achieving your dreams, they need to fund the education system and after you’re done studying you are not contributing anymore, therefore, the cycle must repeat over and over again. What’s is true is that nobody has nothing for granted, and not being strategic about this life project may make you lose everything. Just research, and plan.

It's sad that so many Canadians have to move from their hometowns/provinces in droves to financially survive and get ahead a little. Unfortunately, the droves of people fleeing Ontario and BC are driving up prices now (to buy/rent) in other parts of Canada like Alberta and Atlantic Canada where this is having a trickle effect creating Albertans, Nova Scotians, etc. to be homeless and strains on their provincial healthcare systems. It's a sad state of affairs, and I do not think a politician can fix this, unless they start demanding more and curtailing the power of corporations. A big rebalance needs to occur, but it seems unlikely when politicians and business leaders are on the same side (aka corruption / conflict of their own interests). Canada needs a division between government and business which is the case in many Scandinavian countries.

Its the same in switzerland and many other european countrys. its not just a problem in canada.. sadly.

I am not racist, but I think it is because their country can not provide enough job opportunities so they have to go abroad, this is sad.

i lived there as economic immigrant in Toronto for 4 years back in 2009 to 2013, i loved the city it was vibrant, beautiful, multicultural, people were nice polite, rent was ok , house prices were affordable, i loved every inch of this city, yonge and bloor, Dundas, Chester greektown, high park, north york , Yorkville with the fancy restaurants bars and houses, spadina mansions, harbourfront, were all my favorite places, i have so many beautiful memories in this city, i studied and worked there, but unfortunately i came back in 2015 then 2018 for few days, it was changing gradually to the worse more homeless, more crimes, more mentally sick people, very expensive housing rent food, am so sad fo rthis wonderful city

In 20 years , the demographic of Canada will be changed so much with this current immigration policy, it is no longer the Canada we know. \nVery sad !

The sad part is that we are unaware of all these facts till date.

I never saw a real natives of this country. All I see is Europeans and Asians. Where is all indigenous peoples? Can you ask them their feelings too? It's sad to live here with Canadian born kids who have no jobs.

As sad as the incident is, I don’t get the hate. The fact that this man acknowledged his fault, pleaded guilty against his lawyers advise shows that he is remorseful and didn’t want to put the families through the nightmare of court. He could have pleaded not guilty and won because there is no way they would have been able to prove the charges, especially after the govt cut down trees that were obstructing road signs, after the collision. Other than the overt racism, don’t people get this.

Let me start by saying, I absolutely love TO, I’m from Ireland and visit my relatives every year, recently twice a year. I’ve been going for over 20 years now, unfortunately I’ve seen a decline in cleanliness, not that Ireland is cleaner, it’s not, but Toronto used to be a lot cleaner. In the last few years I have seen a drastic increase of people with mental health issues, sad. Saying all that, I’m back in September again and will be looking forward to meeting up with family, friends and making new memories, God bless you all ☘️?????

Canada is a dump now. It’s so sad. Not like when I was a kid. Trudeau ruined it.

Him being deported or not doesn't matter, the rules and regulations that allow such inexperienced drivers drive these huge dangerous rigs is a huge problem. I get that the economy suffers from a job shortage in the truck driving sector, but this is NOT the way. It's sad to see so many people jump to race or immigration to try to explain their frustration with our current issues in Canada. We are doing this, Canada is importing immigrants for our economic benefit. We Canadians are all NIMBY and making it hard to build the housing we need, wanting our houses to increase in value indefinitively, not wanting the less comfortable jobs like truck driving, yet letting corporations profit by putting woefully inadequate truck drivers on the road. Immigrants CAN be problematic, but in Canada we are creating our own problem.

Why does a country need immigrants? Because the native population is too low to run the economy. Why the Canadian population is going down? Because they choose to bring up pets and not kids. I’m an immigrant who is so sad to see the deteriorating family values and people choosing to live their lives for pleasure.

We have to forgive, yes it's a tragedy and only God can judge this man and it says in the Bible that we need to Forgive, if you can't forgive then that's a very wrong way to be. I know No one can understand all your loss but in life that's how life is, accidents happen. This man has a child and a wife and family. He accepted Canada as his second home why take that from him. Not just the names of colleges but names of the people who run them, founded them, recruit for them and decide admission standards. NAMES. Uh huh. A sad end for this gentleman who was trying to make a new home for himself in Canada> Yet, he is not the only guilty of bad driving: just travel the QE 2 from Crossfield to Calgary or Okotoks to Calgary, hmmm, don't think we'll see too many complaints there... Many white faces amongst those who drive badly, poorly and dangerously. The Canadian road test is piss poor in comparison to the UK and Europe: no 3 point turns, reversing around a corner or emergency stop. Even more comical is when you get a green light to go you then have to yield to the white man for people crossing: a messed up country in more ways than one.

I hope nobody treats me this badly when I screw up in a new job. A very sad event took place, but this is just a vindictive response. Nobody can bring those kids back, but this overkill response is just because they were boys who played hockey. If it was a bunch of female figure skaters, there would have been nothing like this response. Canada needs to stop worshipping at the altar of the hockey God's. Driving jobs are all the same. They have impossible schedules to keep, that can only be met by speeding, and they hire drivers new to the country who are not used to winter driving.

very very sad for all involved. Because of poor driver training, lack of regulation regarding driver training, a truck business cutting corners to save some money, lack of monitoring a likely dangerous intersection, a moment of distraction, and so much more, all those lives were changed forever - the young men on the bus, the families of the young men, the bus driver & his family, the young man starting a new job as a truck driver and his family, and so on. My heart breaks for them all.

South Asian Indians are fourth generation Canadians and are educated, successful and have assimilated with the European culture. The french lady should see Montreal, it is cool to see Indians, Chinese speaking French. Do you ask why there are too many Chinese in Chinatown? Sadly the new immigration are bad Trudeau policies that India wanted deported back. Others are temporary honest Indian students that are being ripped off by Canadian wrong policies of shameless cash grab. Assimilation for new immigrants could be something in common e.g. free classical piano lessons for everyone in school. Music and language is a great first step in communication. The drug problem has nothing to do with immigration, it is the result of their own culture of drug abuse and bad Canadian policies. I think it is sad that the woman seems to be so negative without realizing the she has to care and use her power for good by demanding that no Canadian should be on the streets, this is why ALL Canadians (especially include South Asian Indians) pay taxes. where is our money going? is not the Canadian Government responsible for the welfare of ALL Canadians? we were the peacekeepers. Canada is a puppet to western primitive thinking foreign policy in a proxy war to destroy beautiful Christian Russia?? Trump has outsmarted Trudeau on every agreement. It will be another 10 years before Jaskirat Singh Sidhu is Deported. Or the couple will apply for humanitarian reasons to become Canadian Citizens. Don't Celebrate Yet, Canada is WEAK! Sadly these comments are full of racism, condemnation, and hatred, with no consideration for the possibility that this could have been you, a family member, a friend, or a loved one driving that truck, but for the grace of God go I. Anyone of us could have been driving that transport and found ourselves in that exact situation, but I'm sure none of us consider ourselves to be evil, just human, imperfect, and succeptible to momentary lapses of judgement, that can result in horrific, life altering accidents(eg a child drowning in a pool, a child falling from a balcony, a car accident, accidently striking someone on a bicycle, accidently striking a pedestrian etc).

It’s a sad day for Canada. This man has paid his debt, acknowledged his mistake and asked forgiveness from the families affected. He should be allowed to stay! Read the facts given at trial!

21st century and sad to see mindsets haven't changed. How european canadians feel displaced by indo canadians ,when they did the same sending native Indians to reserves and destroying their culture, replaced with European values and ensured they are second class citizens in their own land. food for thought, try to give one example of a large scale industry run by natives. to clarify I dont agree with how students are flooding the market just for the sake of uberjobs but that's a different debate.
