Toronto has absolutely went down hill since 2012. I've left and never thought about coming back. Not sure how anyone can survive, low salaries, high taxes, high rent

vote liberal or NDP, you get Toronto, Vancouver, etc.. this isn't surprising.

I can relate. Moved to Toronto 2018. Moved out last year. Currently in Sydney Au. These 2 cities Toronto and Sydney have almost the same cost of living. The difference is, the minimum wage in Toronto is 15cad in Sydney the minimum wage is 23aud.

I have been in Toronto since 1990 - used to love it but now... we're bankrupt as a City due to all the immigrants and homeless migrating here - thanks to our Federal Gov't not doing their jobs. I am disabled and was attacked 4 times on the TTC last year. Really hating what this city has devolved into. But where to live? Moving back to the UK is not an option as it is much the same there. Vancouver again? Not much cheaper but at least there you have more opportunities to get away from people.

The friend issue is a West Coast thing for sure! I am a Canadian who had been to Toronto, Calgary, Montreal and I am based in Vancouver. Those other cities are way better in terms of making meaningful connections than Vancouver! We call it the West Coast Cold Shoulder Mentality.

Toronto seems an awful place
2024-01-13 0
Toronto is thousands times better than 1990, when there were no jobs and city was a dead city. \nNow Toronto offers one of the best job opportunities in the world , and city is buzzing with top food choices and cultural events.

Your own canadian government is like communist state. toronto doctors are allowed to give people an injection to end their life. This way they are no longer a burden to society / government. I have cousin inlaws that live in markham a suburb and they have a house and when I visited them I had to squeeze my car in the driveway to park overnight. You're not allowed to park a car on the street or else you get a ticket? I know of no place that does this in suburb in america. I'm in nYC, been to PA, lived in jersey, nyc, have family in long island etc..

Toronto went woke, went broke.

10 years ago, I moved from Toronto (my hometown) to Alberta . Probably the best decision I ever made financially. Cost of housing and gas is cheaper and my salary is also higher. Less crowded as well and I’m not stuck in traffic all day!
2024-01-13 0
Didn't hear you mention the worst part about Toronto, TRAFFIC. Absolute gridlock everywhere. The most congested streets and highways in North America, and 3rd worst in the world!

I lived in Toronto in the early 70s, it was rare to see a black face, now...

As to why they are leaving...it's no longer safe. Muslim leaders stood up yesterday calling Oct a victory and told the crowd to fulfill their duty in the country they are in. Christians incl. Toronto gangs accosting Cdn seniors is the beginning. Miller thinks it's ok.

Facts, somewhat regret moving to Toronto
2024-01-13 0
Toronto is awful now. Totally gone downhill—-too much crime, crippling taxes, high rents….i wouldn’t come here now.
2024-01-13 0
Big cities in Canada actually aren't higher in crime. The worst crime is probably western small towns. But even really nice cities like Fredericton NB have far higher crime than Toronto does. This may be changing fast enough that we will see a change, but Toronto is almost an outlier in the world on crime rates. So Pickering is an A- on crime. Fredericton is an F. You would never guess it walking around. Though the same report says Pickering is a D- on health, while Fredericton is an A-, which is ridiculous because you can't get a doctor in Fredericton, unless there is one in the family. So maybe the stats are bogus.

We moved to Toronto from Mumbai in 2001\nStill NOT got used to the long, cold winter.\nEven though professional & financially done very well ... still gloomy

Toronto is my favorite city in Canada ?? ❤ I used to live there. Thanks for the vid.

Toronto is a shithole

Think Toronto is bad? wait until you see Vancouver...
2024-01-13 0
I lived in Toronto for more than a decade and def thought it was a wonderful place esp through the 2000's and early 2010's. I noticed a huge downturn around 2013-2014. It was getting harder and harder for normal folks to get by even back then, and that people were becoming very frustrated. I ended up leaving in 2017 in order to have a higher quality of life elsewhere - tbh when I left I thought I was just getting old, and I wasn't cool anymore, but I moved to a different larger city and went back to having a great time, and the folks around me were happier. I can't say I'm surprised that it's gotten worse since.

Name a city that doesn’t have its faults. My friend is from Japan shes came to Toronto the last two summers and she loves it and wants to move here. When I travel I always get a warm fuzzy feeling when I return. Again it has its problems but I love Toronto. Theres so many people moving here if some want to leave here for greener pastures awesome!

You are spot on! (And far too polite/politically correct - sorry to say lol).\n\nToronto is the WORST city to live in. I look forward to leaving. I regret moving here 17 years ago - don't know how I've managed to stay this long. Toronto has changed me... and not for the better. This place will make you bitter, you'll have no friends (or shallow, money-hungry ones) and there's no sense of community. Your workplace will be toxic, you'll work long hours for a boss that treats you like crap and pays you less than you're worth. You'll be underpaid, and not valued or appreciated. You'll wake up in the dark to go to work in the freezing cold and come home in the dark, in the freezing cold. You'll live in an expensive tiny box in the sky with disrespectful neighbours (and their barking dogs). The 'unhoused' and addicts will hang outside of your building, begging you for money and smoking crack/weed. The stench of urine and poop on a hot summer's day (the 3 months of it that there is) will make you want to heave.\n\nAnyone thinking of moving to Toronto should seriously think twice and do LOTS of research. There are so many BETTER cities in the world - choose wisely. Don't choose Canada.

Toronto is an open insane asylum. Horrible people, woke beyond belief, congested, expensive, worst hockey team, no identity, full of condos with the worst waterfront I've even seen. No originality. People are pricks who get offended extremely easy. Not a fun city at all.

I moved to Toronto in 2021 in search of a better life but only found poverty, crime and hopelessness. Just like hundreds of thousand of immigrants, I was lured into the idea of a first world country, and spent my life savings to move there. As a highly skilled worker, I am barely able to make ends meet working a job I’d be making at least 3 times more in my home country (Brazil). I am moving to the US now as cost of living is far lower and average pay is much higher.

I immigerant to Canada 2008 and lived in Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver. I realized I was in the wrong place. 2013, I ran from Canada and never regretted it.\nShe is 100% right. DO NOT go to Canada if you are poor with limited money.\nCanada is a beautiful country. It is a shame the cruppt Canadian GOV makes it so hard for people to live.

Toronto job opportunity is limited. The house prices are expensive and not affordable. It looks relaxing but honestly it is a stressful city
2024-01-12 0
I grew up in downtown Toronto. I left around the time you had come and it was wonderful and I missed it so much. I absolutely cannot believe what it has become. It's not the same at all. It just feels like a bunch of people that hate each other and everything around it. Great Video! Look forward to more content from you.

Very interesting. I have really enjoyed listening to your views and why you are doing what you are doing. I too am very concerned about what is happening to the world and I’m an atheist. I lived in Toronto 40 years ago and I’m sure it was a very different place to what it is now. Very good luck to you both and your girls.

Toronto is getting what they voted for...and our voting system giving toronto way too much power they have dragged us all down with them....

Great video! Here's my 2 cents: The Social scene is a Western thing. Difucuty meeting friends is a well-documented thing about Vancouver. I think it's because Vancouver has three large ethnic monocultures, and they're all preoccupied with money. West Coast is lifestyle over the social scene. At the same time, Toronto is much more diverse culturally and economically, and culturally, it has a more outgoing social norm. The housing crunch is partially driven by supply and demand, at least not here in greater Vancouver, where I can see hundreds of brand-new condominiums and townhomes empty or for sale. The real issue is the lack of affordable housing. I've lived in Canada my whole life, and im also considering leaving.

Toronto is a sinking shup. My old neighbourhood now looks like Karachi. Wait till the Africans illegal refugees start flooding in, then it will sink even faster!

Is there a big Pakistani community in Toronto?
2024-01-12 0
I was in Toronto for the first time in 1990 to visit my relatives impressed by this multicultural city.
2024-01-12 0
Only one way of thought allowed in Toronto. You will bow to the flag and march in the parade.
2024-01-12 0
Actually Vancouver is known as hollywood North, not Toronto. Vancouver had 112 movies made in the city in 2018 alone, but we all know Torontonians believe the country starts and ends with Toronto...
2024-01-12 0
Too many deeply melanated people in Toronto. Want proof? Look at the TTC bus stop anywhere in Toronto and see what people are waiting for their bus.
2024-01-12 0
So how would Toronto compare to a city like Chicago? Seems all big North American cities have major problems with government and crime as the biggest obstacles to a better living.
2024-01-12 0
Move out of Toronto and you'll love Canada! I immigrated last year and like everyone else I went straight to Toronto to find a job. I did find a well paying job but even after that, the city was not affordable. I liked the part that it's easy to find new people and settle in the city because everyone's very open minded and welcoming but the rent al market is absurd! Public transport need a major upgrade! The only thing apart from social life that I liked was toronto's biking culture and community. But taking ttc, specially the subway is scary! Road rage is becoming a norm, no respect for pedestrians or cyclists. The city is broken.\n\nI am now living in London, Ontario, and I feel a lot safer. Fortunately, the renting is still not as bad here but you need to own a car (well, that's just North America) and then you can life a comfortable life.

I lived in Toronto years ago. It was nice in summer but in reality the weather is only warm 2 months of the year and the winters are very cold. I moved to the US and have lived in Manhattan, Ft Lauderdale, Atlanta, Las Vegas, and Seattle. Each place has its own special things and negatives. Nothing is perfect but I do prefer a longer warmer climate.

What I like best about visiting Toronto is when I leave. A real Sh*t Hole.
2024-01-12 0
I grew up in rural Ontario and experienced extreme racial violence since childhood. I moved to Toronto at 19 to attend university and have been here for 15 years. I still enjoy the outdoors, but have continued to experience racial attacks when I visit small towns across Ontario. So while the cost of living here is outrageous, sadly, Toronto is the ONLY place I have not been called an N-WORD!! ?

This is such half-assed content. Random B-roll, borrowed news segments that vaguely relate to the topic. Toronto has lots of problems but you didn't identify ANY of them.
2024-01-12 0
I don't think it's just a Toronto problem. It's Canada problem. All new immigrants that is brought by our government are settling in Toronto and Vancouver. That's why rent prices are ridiculous. Economy is in shi..t after 8 years of Trudeau. Everything is a disaster after him. I would say don't move to Canada, not just to Toronto.
2024-01-12 0
Toronto has such a self-righteous, entitled psychology. Do voters think the real world doesn't apply to them? The chickens always come home to roost. Stop electing woo-woo lefties and choose competent centrist administrators. But then you'd have to actually vote, which 60-70% of eligible voters don't do. Go figure.

Thank god I moved to US right after graduating and paid off my loans with a new grad signing bonus. I now out earn anyone in Canada, doctors, surgeons, director of trading at TD, lawyers as well as having an top school district new construction SFH in NY (for way cheaper than Toronto even adjusted for currency), on my way to get a GC, and over a million in net worth. My cars and houses are cheaper, my flights are cheaper, my taxes are lower, my career is better, my investments do better. In Canada I'd be comparatively F-U-C-K-E-D. my condolences to all millennials that stayed in Canada.

still, Toronto is a lot safer and better than the USA, Latin America, Europe, and Asia, Of course, it is not like Japan or Singapore but the immigration crisis is everywhere and worse. can be a cleaner, can be cheaper, working as a waitress and expecting to live downtown does not add up. it just reminds me of when I used to work in a motel, I paid for a motel room and expected 5-star hotel.

Socialism is destroyed another great city- Toronto. More immigration and public spending should help right? HAHAHAHAA. Socialism is great until you run out of other peoples money.

I lived in Toronto from '95-2000, 2003-2004, and finally from 2010-2019, and watching its slide has been terrible. But I'm old enough to remember what it was like in the late '70s when it was still functional and people had no yet become miserable. It's astonishing what greed and stupidity can do. Having lived in Calgary and on both coasts as well as Australia and Japan (where I'm on my second stint) I now see Canada as no longer designed as a home for citizens but rather a holding pen for the fleecing of inmates.

I'm so glad I moved to Vancouver. It's not great but a little better and it's warmer. Doesn't rain as much as said. I'll take a bit of rain instead of the freezing cold. Toronto is much more fun. Way better vibe. Van sucks. People are cold and creepy. Say hello and a person runs. Have no sense of humor. Really dull people.
