This is not a scam. The students go to study at these universities as a gateway to immigrate well knowing the risks. Its not like an 90+ year old getting scammed because he is too old and senile. These students are themselves greedy and lack calibre to get into high rank universities on merit. They resort to short cuts and then lose to conmen. There is a saying, where there are greedy the conmen always thrive.

The issue with expecting to be sponsored when applying for a job is that LMIAs are costly for employers, and employers don't like spending money. Employers will typically prefer to hire local candidates who have a Canadian work permit. Why do people have such an aversion to consulting an immigration lawyer while still in their home country coming to Canada with an open work permit? Can someone please clarify this for me, because I keep coming across people who reach out to me on LinkedIn from overseas expecting my employer connections to sponsor them, and I have to say no to them every time because so few employers are willing to sponsor. Any insight on this will be much appreciated!

Canadians are too kind and polite to tell you a straight N O... never in a million years would I move to the USA. There are too many reasons never to move there! Between your nasty guns and Second Amendment #*!$$#@ ( times have changed since 1776!) It's almost like you can't even trust your own family or Neighbors with your stupid gun laws. What about medical? Ours is FREE and it doesn't matter if you have pre-existing conditions ever. We do not get the Hurricanes, tornadoes, major flooding, and extremely ugly ugly politics. Maybe it's just because of the news, but really, the school shootings are TOP of mind for me. Like, how is that even possible, to have that many crazy people who want to murder children, and not only that, but those crazy people have access to guns? \nI don't say anything to my American cousins, as I realize that they have ties, they've married Americans, they've built a life, and there's no sense me freaking out about things that they won't change, and insulting their choices.\nBut... I was SHOCKED that even after they started having children, they still didn't move back to Canada. They can do it, they have dual citizenship! \n???\nIt's like sending your kids to school on a boat in a river full of crocodiles. It's not guaranteed that nothing bad will happen to them, and it's hard to let them go, but you trust and pray and hope for the best.\nAnd then you see your cousin's kids sailing down that same river sitting on a log with their feet dangling into the water! It's horrifying, even if they assure you that usually the crocs don't come to this side of the river, and mostly they're not hungry in the morning anyway. It seems like reckless disregard. And for what? So the parents can make more money? It's not worth it in my opinion.

Lots of assumptions baked in here that are honestly quite offensive or completely inaccurate. This is a great example of data not matching reality. Like sure, those may be the reported numbers, but it simply doesn’t pass the smell test. Not saying the percentage in Canada isn’t higher, but the way you’re presenting this data is simply misleading.

I think you missed the ball on two points.\n\n1) although Canada has a higher share of current immigrants, 99% of all americans are descended from at least one great grandparent who came from abroad before settling down. America is a nation of immigrants down into its blood, and the current state of affairs is more a reflection of abberation than the norm, even in spite of our history of the Klan and know nothing party.\n\n2) Québec sets its own immigration policy and it is WAAAAAAY stricter, like, they have a french literacy test that a parisian with a PhD in French literature failed, and when this is brought up most Quebecois say this makes sense because *the French* are doing a poor job of preserving frenchness against encroachment from foreign language and culture. Meanwhile L'Acedemie Français is the chief dead horse to beat amongst folks who want to make jokes of linguistic and cultural prescriltivism.

This is no different then a invasion from another country! Why are we not shutting the border down and if they cross like this it is the same as war so defend the border like war! If you come legally then I say welcome!!

I would 100% go to the us for vacation even for a whole month, but it’s a big NO to move over the border. \n\nReasons why: \n\n1. As an international student to the US, it's all so extremely stressful as mentioned by this video. First, after you graduate you have 90 days to find a job before being deported. Then, when you do find a job, you can only work for a year unless you're stem, then you can work for another company for another 2 years. Then there's the H1-B. Suffice to say, the lottery system is completely random. It doesn't matter how smart you are or how talented you are, H1-B is a lottery and you could get screwed over at any moment.\n\nIf you so much as dare to be unemployed (like in the recent tech firings), you have 90 days to find a new job before you're deported. Also h1-B only lasts for 6 years. Also moving companies on H1-B is a really hard ask. \n\nIt's all too cruel. Even I am considering moving to Canada myself.

All I can say as a Canadian is why would anyone want to move to the USA.The more I learn the more I love where I live the USA is a hot mess and watching the kind of people that you elect is mind boggling . Why would anyone support a bottom feeder like Donald Trump to run their country. You don't have to be a scholar to realize this man is beyond corrupt and a really bad person. One thing I would like to note is that Canada is not welcoming in only highly skilled workers. If you can work at a Tim Horton's you qualify. This has lead to a flood of new workers who HAVE to have a job in order to stay at a time where the existing labour pool is refusing work due to pay lagging far behind inflation for two decades. Those salaries discrepancies you listed are not exclusive to the tech sector, they are economy wide. Often you'll here talk of a labour shortage in Canada, but ask for the number of applicants to jobs and you quickly find out the reason no one accepted is because the full-time job offered requires a part-time job to barely make ends meet. \n\nAnother factor is that housing happens to be the bread and butter of ~40% of our MP's. Hell our Minister of Housing himself owns properties that have appreciated massively due to the lack of supply and high demand. He then goes on national TV and says high immigration will solve the housing crisis despite Canada already having over 4% of our entire labour force already in the construction industries (America is a little over 3%) and the men and women who build our houses being unable to afford the homes they build ($22.07/hr CAD average or ~$16.66 USD. compared to $22.29/hr USD). 14% of our national GDP is housing. 14% of our entire economy is just money changing hands internally with nothing of value made. \n\nThen you have the combo of landlords benefiting from the immigration programs who try and evict the tenants on their properties to replace them with immigrant labour. They then take the cost of rent right out of their salaries. The workers can't quit their jobs because if they don't have a job they are at risk of being deported and also loosing their homes so they end up shacking 8 to an apartment to try and make ends meet. This becomes the standard the rest of the economy has to meet. \n\nIt is a rare sight to see someone who is anti-immigrant in Canada, but the majority of people here understand that immigration is a problem the way it is currently run. You have people who come here hoping for a new life being forced to sleep outside under bridges because while they may have a job they don't have a home and the shelters are already 200% capacity. Tent cities are the norm in any major urban centre now. There are crack dens in Toronto that are the same price as Castles in the UK. And this problem is only going to get worse.

I'm a proud Canadian who would NEVER move to the USA for a ton of reasons. I only wish our best neighbors---I still believe this---would get their act together. Unfortunately I think it may be way too late. The fact that a known scumbag like Donald Trump could still,I think,get back into the White House says it all. The warring political parties should be lining up to put him jail. Far too many shootings and violence down there. When I meet Americans up here,they are always nice folks,always respectful. Oh, hell no! And further to that, if I was visiting the US and got sick enough that I might need a hospital, I would do my damnedest to get back to Canada. I have heard Americans say that the healthcare is very good, as long as you have money. But I don’t trust it because Americans have been brainwashed to believe that the US is exceptional in every way (sorry guys, but it’s extremely obvious to the rest of the world), yet I have heard too many stories about things like people picking up C. Diff or other drug-resistant infections in hospitals there.\n\nI spent about two weeks in the hospital in February. You know what it cost me? Absolutely nothing. Well, I did have to pay for taking an ambulance later. But the hospital stay itself cost me nothing. Neither did the food they fed me in there, or the medication they gave me.\n\nMayyyybe if you guys got universal health care (it shouldn’t be tied to your job), and stopped shooting each other so much. US - the problem is when there are obvious problems you have a system that allows big money into politics, which allows for lobbying, which in my opinion is legal bribery. From what we see, that is not happening all in big cities. Sandy Hook was the worst. The whole city was on lock down. I believe one elderly woman died, and 3 were injured. The person was caught, arrested, and is rotting away in jail. It hasn’t happened since. People still remember it. My little sister and I were scared, so we hid in my bedrooms closet. (It was on the second floor, and there was no way anybody could break in and get up there easily.)\n\nHealthcare is a huge issue. My family has a long line of health issues, and with that in mind, the risk is just to obscene.\n\nI am a woman. The fact that laws are being stripped away from us by old white men who have no idea what it is like to be a woman in the states is horrifying. \n\nGun culture. As a person living in Turkey, I say that my country has been invaded. Refugees coming to our country form Arab tribes, openly harassing Turkish girls and calling them prostitutes, beating our children who oppose them. They kidnap them to their country and marry them, worse still, they sell them in women's markets instead of getting married. I used to be a Muslim in your country, but when I saw assets like this, I became an atheist.

As a Canadian living in north western Ontario at the north west of lake superior about 50 miles from the boarder. I would move to the United states if given choice of state like Alaska, Montana, and maybe Texas. no real reason i can enjoy guns here but not all the guns i would like to own are legal in Canada anymore for weird reasons, and if it was the states of my choosing i would still have enough free space to get lost in and enjoy nature with fishing or hunting. If I couldn't pick were i lived in the US I would say not at all do to the vast differences in culture state to state county to county and even times down to street to street.

I crossed the border into Buffalo ALOT growing up and I gotta say, you remind me of the proverbial frog in boiling water. Your country has changed, to the point where my family never bothered to get nexus passes or passports to cross over when those were requirements. My sister got hers to travel to Japan... still has not crossed over. The things we used to go to do there are still there but the whole vibe, experience and culture has shifted so much it feels like a totally different country from 30... even 15 years ago. Lol the shot at 11:28 isn't in Ontario, it's actually on an island in scotland, it's a place called Tobermory. Ontario also has a Tobermory which is a couple hours from where I grew up. I've been to Tobermory Ontario and it doesn't look anything like the Tobermory in Scotland. I want to augment your point about the healthcare thing: Not everything is free here. For example, you’re not charged for your 5 minute consultation with a medical professional - all too often eager to write you a prescription, tell you you’re fine, and get the next healthcare number in the door (after his piss/smoke/coffee/shit *[in that order]* break) - and for which you just waited 45 minutes past the appointment time, getting sneezed on by at least 6.48 different people in the waiting room. I live just outside of Montreal, pretty near the border. One of my good friends used to live in Vermont, right near the border and we would visit each other several times a year. She moved to Tennessee, and I flew down to visit her a few years ago (haven't been down since COVID) while Trump was still president and I'm not even joking when I say that as soon as I left Nashville I was highly anxious 100% of my time there. And I'm white, I'm not a visible minority, I suppose if I kept my mouth shut nobody could tell I'm not from there, it really hit me how sad it is that I even felt that. All these patriotic gun toting Americans I feared would shoot me for whatever reason they could come up with. I understand that that's not ACTUALLY likely, I was glad I left my husband and children at home, and while I enjoyed my weekend there I couldn't WAIT to get back home. I was horrified that not only do people ACTUALLY think like this, but those who are being oppressed, or those who simply support those being oppressed are having to keep quiet for fear of being murdered because of this. Nashville was really cool, I loved it, but I truly feared for my safety outside of the city, despite being a straight white woman. I can't imagine what it's like for the minorities, it's so sad. I think you hit the nail on the head when you said that you're just numb to it, because being on the outside looking in, it's hard to believe what's actually going on, it looks as though the country is regressing,

Hey Tyler. Just FYI a huge portion of the world are horrified with the sheer amount of gun violence that is accepted in the USA. This is not just a Canadian viewpoint. Also, what about the people that live in the 'bad' parts of the Country - it isn't like a lot of them have the choices or opportunities to move. \n\nI will say your openness to questioning your biases is refreshing. Hopefully you get a chance to leave the USA for a significant amount of time and then go back with a fresh viewpoint.\n\nThanks

I think you have been desensitized to the mass shootings in the US. They occur in good neighbourhoods like Parkland which is close to where my sister lives. My sister has lived in Florida for 38years and is an American citizen but she wants to move back to Canada. It won’t be easy for her because she has developed very strong friendships in Florida, but really doesn’t like living there anymore. As for me, I say hell no, I would never move to the US. There are many parts of the US I would like to visit, but I am becoming more and more frightened to travel in the states.

As a Canadian who lived in the US (and all over the US) for over five years, I just wanted to comment on this video. \n\nIn your video, you seem to be shocked with Canadians reactions to school shootings and health care in the US. Much like Americans paint all of Canada with one brush, Canadians do the same. We watch American news channels more than Canadian news channels, and we read news from American sources more than Canadian sources. American news really is designed to scare people, and Canadians are easily scared! Not all of us consume only American news sources, but most of us do, and that’s just simply based on the fact that Google, Facebook, CNN, ABC, etc. are American companies. Yes of course there are safe communities and cities in the US, and yes of course if you have a good job you probably don’t have to worry much about health care.\n\nDuring my time in the US, I lived in Miami, Chicago and Seattle. I didn’t like Miami. It’s kind of another world down there. Seattle was ok. Chicago though… I absolutely loved living there. And if given the opportunity, that is where I would live for the rest of my life. People will say “Chicago! It’s so violent and problems blah blah”, but like you said, there are areas, even in big cities, that are super safe and fun to live in. \n\nI live in Toronto now, and I wouldn’t hesitate to move back to Chicago if given the opportunity. The food scene, the music scene, the sports scene, and the unbelievably friendly people. Such a great town.\n\nAnyway, love the videos. Keep it up!
