Been working in Canada for 11 years now. Used to be a safe place to live but not anymore. The health care system is stupid, more more taxes, the rent is so high, everything is ridiculously expensive. Now i am sending all my money back home, and leaving Canada in a year

Canada = ice, ice and more ice + high taxes + not much opportunity. They should pay us to stay in this cold boring place.

nothing is free in Canada . in 2024 the average Canadian cannot afford to buy a house anymore . if you are married then it becomes easier , but once you get divorced. you wont be able to even rent a place due to the cost of losing everything . the country has gown to shit, example two bedroom in albert 1250 old building, new building 1400, car payment 300-600 dollars, car insurance 300-400 dollars for new drivers and the list goes on

Portugal is a nice retirement place . Italy, Costa Rica is also on the list.

Ok... Toronto and Vancouver is a very small part of Canada... they are not the whole Canada... I understood the struggles but there are lots of places in Canada is what we say livable... Hey Im alone here in Edmonton... i pay mortgage,,, i pay bills,,, i pay debts,,, i support my family back home,,,, i buy whatever i want and most of all,,, i only have one job... and look!!! Im surving for 14 years now alone... Struggles should be dealt with willingness to do what is necessary,,, hardwork and resiliency not quitting... you will still have to work hard whether you go back home or go somewhere else... at least here in Edmonton,,, you're hard work is rewarding unlike most of the countries around the world...

I met some of these people in Thailand after COVID. There was a small group of Chinese who kept to themselves at our hostel. One day I overheard them in Chinese repeatedly talking about my country Mexico which got me to talk with them. They were quite happy to learn I could speak Chinese but more excited to learn I was from Mexico. They started asking me a bunch of questions about crossing the border into the US to which I bluntly told them I had no idea about and discouraged it. I asked where they got these crazy ideas from and they said that people were posting videos and tutorials of how to cross into the US online. The Chinese government hard handed approach to COVID was what made them leave. They wanted to go both for the freedom and economic benefits but they had a very naive and overly optimistic view of the US. They saw the high wages US workers were making but had no idea as to the incredibly high living costs associated with living there. I tried explaining that there was a housing shortage and that their expectations for life in the US would set them for disappointment but they either didn't believe me or brushed off my criticism. I also tried encouraging them to go to German or Australia instead (places which I feel would be better and easier for them to enter) but they seemed dead set on just going to the US. Unfortunately I don't know where they are now as Wechat is blindly and constantly blocking and deleting accounts in SE Asia without reason......................

Canadians are leaving Canada and that's what should be concerning. As Canadian born and raised now retired, I have finally had enough if the past 3 decades of crap in this country and also found a way to immigrate out of Canada to a country who places its citizens FIRST!

This is what happens when you living in a loser city like Vancouver, just like a LA. Not all places in Canada is horrible but Vancouver is the is armpit for middle class citizen.

The main reason behind why groceries, furniture and every kind stuff costs so high in Canada compared to other countries is because, every product that is imported to Canada is like 4k super high quality of stuff. Like let's say for example other countries imports products that are like 720p or even 480p. But people who didn't live out of Canada will never understand this from every single home product to brick to material of every kind in Canada is of 4k quality. So, maintaince of those is 5x times to 10x times more. That's why everything costs so much. If you buy like 10kg of let's say an Indian brand of flour that costs 15 Canadian dollars. Same product will cost you in other places no less than 5-7 dollars. You know why? Because another reason is imported food and materials to Canada is very expensive as well. On top of that the size of the whole country. It's huge. With being most least densely populated country. You add up the transportation costs, the higher quality of the products. Everything adds up.

This country has become trash. This used to be the place to go. Now we get third world trash and the good people we want here have no interest

Canada's biggest problem, other than Trudeau/Singh being in charge is that there are only a few major cities that people gravitate to. If the boundaries were pushed outside of Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, things may become more affordable. All the land in between Toronto and Windsor. The issue is it would take companies expanding to these places.

Immigrants aren't stupid. Anyone with grade 1 math can quickly figure out the cost of living far out weight your income. People get citizenship and leave and if they are rich enough they'll buy a place on their way out further exacerbating life for those who stay.

Canada by itself is very WELCOMING, the problem is that you dive into the trap, there only ONE way to do this right, GIVE TO ALL IMMIGRANTS TIME BUFFER, like 1-2 year, don't destroy them from the start, it`s like I call friends to my home, I will say hey please feel free like in your house, but then ill throw them dirt to a face and ask them hey please be clean in my house go find place where to wash up and don't use my towel. Time that migrants spend to find JOB and HOME are exceed TIME they can afford living, it means LOW CREDIT SCORE, DEBT Problems, bad mood, anxiety, no hope, and boom you have more homeless guys. Politics should be supporting migrants very well not just throwing them to the streets, put some regulatory, cut some paperwork for applying a job, make RULE that every IMMIGRANT should go to government job like cleaning streets or IDK make it MUST, so there will be no situation where they don't have jobs. Where government attacks on the homeless instead of helping. I see more and more homeless and drug usage. More litter in the streets. Canada the socialist country. Sorry but a lot of people use their children as leverage for pitty, trust me a lot of them arent coming to make a better life for their kids. They want to come and wire money back to all their friends and family back home especially if its for illegal business. They will do anything for money even if its illegal their raised JUST to make money no matter what. No country is perfect due to so many reasons, the politics, the culture, natural resources, economic affairs, Healthcare and even the thinking pattern of inhabitants themselves. And it is natural for things to change over time in every aspect. We just need to look at these things with an open mind and make decisions. If Canada would not fulfill your desires simply stay in your homeland and may be try to make it a great place to live.

I know of a situation where a canadian woman was living with a man who after he got his pr call the cops on him saying he rape her. He is now in jail because of her lie and can't wait to leave as this seems to be the norm for women there to use the men then get them in jail by lying to the cops.
