People who come to Canada after receiving their PR struggle way too much. When you apply for a job here, they require you to have 1 year of Canadian working experience. How does someone fulfill that criteria if they've just landed in a new country? The government should instead open PR for only blue-collar jobs, which are actually in high demand. The whole immigration program otherwise feels like a scam. You shouldn't be getting any points for your educational and professional qualifications in the application when, in reality, it's not going to help you afterward. Most of the people I know here are planning a relocation because they don't see themselves owning a house anytime soon.

Canadians are learning by the process of elimination and will soon realise that the surge in population was not the main reason for the increase on housing prices or rents. The one thing no one really talks about is how giant corporations are gobbling up starter houses for smaller families which is driving the demand up and inflating the prices. These corporations have far bigger influence on housing prices than the immigrants ever will. But overall lowering the immigration eases some pressure from the system, but we need to get to the real problem.

Went back to Punjab India first time after 28 years in 2002. I felt at home soon as I got out of the Airport. Since then I've never felt Canada as my home and what makes it worse is that overall Canada is spiraling in a downward direction. The medical system, the immigration system, the housing affordability, the future of our children and grandchildren, to promote and force children into lgbtq community and on and on is just getting worse. Trudeau has systematically destroyed every aspect of Canadian life over the past 8 years. I feel badly for immigrants that have come here to make a better life, being very disappointed with the reality of life in Canada with its high inflation, high taxes, high crime rates, a compromised judicial system and poor healthcare. Many of us that were born and raised here are also looking to leave. It's shocking how far this country has fallen in 8 years and there's no sign that this government will change course anytime soon.

Ton of people who came with work permits basically doing nothing. I know so many of them as soon as they got the work permits, left Canada and got back home. Our education system is not as efficient as before. Too many kids from those family with work permits are joining the schools every day so the number of kids in each class is way more than it should be.There is no idea behind bringing too many immigrants.
