I want to live in Canada. If Canada becomes the poorest country in the world, I want to live in it. You do not know the number of Indians who enter Canada every year, unlike other nationalities.

Watched a recent documentary shot in India and the Indians are clearing out, with the US being their top choice. I recall it being a documentary on the Chinese diaspora in India, and even though the Chinese numbers have massively depleted they are becoming the majority in the area the documentary was shot. home ownership is out of control in Canada because of Chinese moneys in real estate. I understand this is targeting Justin but the real issue is the Chinese investment pushing up prices to unreasonable levels. This is happening in other countries like Greece. New millionaires are picking up real estate in record numbers and thousands of new millionaires are being created in countries like India and China. Many of this could be money laundering like Russians and Chinese do in London and Dubai. What Canada needs to do is make it more expensive for overseas investors to buy homes, crackdown on criminal investments, increase the stock of homes, and reduce construction costs. Trudough does not have the balls to do any of this, as liberals generally lack discipline to be financially prudent.

America is a good place to live. I have visited a number of places in the USA and it's a free first world country with alot of fun and cool places to see and do. Just like every country in the world there are positives and negatives. I think that the health care is majorly flawed in America. Health insurance is too expensive for the average person and if you get really sick and don't have health insurance in America you are probably going to die. I also don't like that there is no gun control and way to many murders and violence in the USA. Those are the 2 biggest problems that make me not want to live there.

I'd say that there are a fair number of conservative Canadians who wouldn't mind living in the USA, or people who are rich enough that they could steer clear of a lot of the issues. However, I think most Canadians would list a European country as their first choice if things were going bad in Canada. We also have a lot of asian-canadians who would possibly also list an asian country as their first choice since they would already know the language. But yeah, USA is definitely not a first choice for I'd say 50-75% of Canadians.

As an immigrant living in Seattle, I sometimes compare with Vancouver, BC. US limits a number of H1B visas and PRs per nationality so things are not as extreme as Canada. I sometimes feel sorry my Indian/Chinese peers are struggling with visa to live in the states and that's what the government has to control.

I don’t think there would have been a Brampton if majority of white Canadians were welcoming to brown people irrespective of their nationality. Integration is only possible if there is a willingness to interact with new immigrants. This is not to say that immigrants who commit crimes shouldn’t be booted. There is an inherent problem of selective racism based on the skin colour in the Canadian society which is felt by the new immigrants and is the only reason they find comfort in their own people and stay together. Also, government should put a cap on the number of immigrants from one country like the US has done.

Canada, unlike the US, was always more of a salad than a melting pot. Many separate ingredients in one bowl. It wasn't that long ago that Canada was dealing with the Quebecois issue. Beyond that, there are issue with First Nations relations. To expect Canada to be a melting pot is too much. It's a country primarily of English speakers, a large number of French speakers mainly concentrated in Quebec, First Nations people, and then European immigrants who in a generation or two become more basic English-speaking Canadians. You can't expect more than that form Canada. This is not even addressing how Chinese Vancouver is. That's another ball of wax.

I'm an Indian immigrant and lived in ON. I drove through Brampton once and I vowed to never go back there again. But you see this is a vicious consequence of declining birth rates in Canada. Christianity is trampled upon along with its values and principles and this is one of the results. The first thing I asked the day I landed was where were all the Canadians? Have they left the planet? \n\nA country needs people and once a certain ethnic population grows in strength and in numbers the landscape is sure to change. Besides, Canada does not demand immigrants assimilate into the culture, instead it's vice versa and it's disappointing. And when you give up Christianity, what do you expect immigrants to embrace? DEI? That's the last thing they will and continue to push their religions. \n\nBesides, what is Hindu and Pakistani? One is a religion and the other is a nationality. You're free to judge but I have not seen any Indian/ Asian/ Latino immigrant homeless. Indians bring high skill in IT, banking and medicine which Canada desperately needs. Latino/ European ethnic immigrants also work very hard (construction/ farms etc.) and support their families and children. These basic skills keeps Canada running. Immigrant children are the highest number of graduate degree holders. Students line up in hundreds because they are willing to work and make a mark. They stand in freezing weather for hours just to try their luck. That's dedication. The only homeless I have seen are Canadians/ Native Americans even when the govt. pays millions in welfare and development programs to get their life back on track. Also, all these immigrants pay thousands of dollars to come to Canada (Visa fees, plane tickets, moving expenses) so that they can pay taxes to Canadians. Why are you crying all the time just they are not into cold pasta?

I live in a town in a different province and am a white Canadian. I personally find Indians too be nice and pleasant (generalizing I know). \n\nI have an Indian business partner who I once told a house on my street was for sale. He said, and I quote “I moved away from India.. why would I move back?” \n\nThat tells you how many are here. \n\nPersonally I like multiculturalism but the numbers from India are making it less multicultural.

The biggest concerns here in my opinion are the non-permanent resident numbers, and the overall immigration targets. What's stopping them from falling under the radar? Is there any tracking to make sure they leave when the time is up? It's very poorly managed. Secondly, Canada's immigration targets are way too high under these Lieberals. The 2021 Census of Brampton is intentionally misleading. The total number of ethnic people who are Indian is $308,210. Punjabi is a provincial region in India, and Sikh and Hindu are not separate ethnicities, but faith groups. Adding these additional subcategories are intended to hide the over whelming presence of one ethnicity in the city. What is the result? $308K is almost half the total population of Brampton in 2021. What's the impact? Sikh Khalistani Separatist's hosting a parade in the community in 2022 with one float depicting the 1984 assassination of prime minister Indira Gandhi.
