Oh man, this all sounds very worrisome...\n\nI've been working together remotely with one of Sony Pictures Imageworks's supervisors and she's been super happy with me and my work. She's switching companies soon since she found an even better opportunity elsewhere and is already making steps getting me on the team. She starts the hiring process in August.\n\nShe said I should fix a holiday visa and that if the company is still happy with me after 12 months they would most likely sponsor my stay. So yeah, everything seemed pretty solid!\n\nBut now that I'm watching this video I'm getting scared that I might be missing something that wouldn't allow me to work there. Could anyone perhaps share there view on my situation?\n\nBy the way, not sure if this is handy to know but I would be moving to Vancouver. \n\nMuch appreciated, thanks!!

I know of a few taxi drivers that have law degrees or a PhD in the way they get treated is astounding the young need to be educated not just the Young the ignorant people say they're taking our jobs they're taking our jobs because they're work ethic is 100 times better in some cases in most cases people that are from a country that has benefited them wouldn't know damn thing about a hard life. I have experienced or found amount of trauma in my life in and out of foster homes the day I was born adopted at age 9 back in foster care , addicted to opiates I thought life couldn't get any worse I am now 6 years clean from opiates I find myself among the luckiest women or person on this Earth. Good for you two for educating people thank you I hope you ladies get everything you have worked hard for and then some even though what you're saying sounds unfair it is unfair it sounds to me extremely difficult you remain hopeful and humble. I wouldn't suggest you go to quebec as a anglophone cuz the francophones won't welcome you and will be rude in most cases. But hey if you speak french quebec is your best bet. You will also get PR very fast.

Nice video but I don’t quite agree on what you have said about Manitoba. I can’t speak for Winnipeg because I live in a small town of 10,000 population in Manitoba about 1 hour down south of Winnipeg, full of nature and amazing friendly people. Living quality is hard to beat, plenty of jobs and lower cost of living and unbeatable real estate. We have many hiking and bike trails here. Water sports are very popular in summer. Fishing on rivers and lakes in summers and in winters are just so fun. Falls are the best season in southern Manitoba when trees everywhere turns into different vibrant colours and looks extremely beautiful. Crime and safety issue - most small towns in Manitoba safety or security is not at all a concern. I have been living here for 5 years and never heard of any major crimes except for some bike thefts in summer. Winter is cold but most of the time it’s sunny and bright. Just come and visit Manitoba and you wouldn’t regret a bit!

Alberta #2.... LOL! Kidding right? \nThat would equate to Wyoming being the 2nd best place to live in the U.S. while having seasonal climate like Alaska without the mountains.\nAlberta's all good if you love 2 months of 'summer' known as 'Rodeo Season' followed by 10 months of sub arctic WINTER known as 'Hockey Season', wear only plaid shirts and jean jackets, accessorize your all denim wardrobe with a leather belt sporting a chrome buckle the size of a hubcap, your choice of footwear consists of hard and uncomfortable high heel boots with ridiculous pointed toes, wouldn't dare leave your home unless fully costumed like a casting extra in a B movie Spaghetti Western complete with a hat the size of bucket, while having dietary needs that are easily satisfied from both of the 2 known food groups of Beef or Wheat, and your 2 favourite 'cultural interests' are 'Country' & 'Western'. Some of my relatives moved to the states and instead of separating they bought a big house and lived together. I know westerners wouldn't understand but we as humans need each other.

Why do you think that western society is so peaceful and prosperous? Maybe it's because capitalism depends upon individual innovation. It might be true that Africa has less loneliness but the social order in Africa is tribal, not capitalism which is why Africa as a whole is poor. Many people from Africa are talented and hard-working but the society in Africa or other collectivist societies doesn't reward that individual strength. I wouldn't call it loneliness, it's more like privacy and individualism and it's the reason why the US/Canada doesn't have a problem with overpopulation or violent radicalism. On the whole, I'm incredibly grateful to have been born in America.

i’m typing this as an american native with 1st generation mexican parents. i lived all my life in suburbs , i’m 23. i started doing online school at around age 13 so i stayed home and basically quit hanging out with anyone by age 14. i feel i grew up online, no real life friends, didn’t get to know or hangout with cousins my age due to their own plans or schedule. i still live a very lonely life but this video very greatly shows why i want to leave the US. neighbors hardly know each other and don’t want to, they instead will purchase guns and be paranoid about everyone, despite all they do is drive to work, do 10 hours, come back. repeat. \n\ni visited mexico twice, i like the culture there, and i wouldn’t mind trying to live out there for a year see how i like it. there’s plenty of good land to work, i’m willing to work hard and i’m ok with eating simple. as of now i’m just saving my money and getting it into investment and hopefully semi live off that when i move to mexico in 7-10 years

Great video. I am a Canadian that works with newcomers. I have lived abroad and back again. We recently did a trip to the U.S. A great trip overall but I agree with a lot of your comments about the suburbs. We saw some beautiful neighbourhoods in the US (and here in Canada) but there are almost no signs of life. I grew up in the suburbs and it was nice as a kid because we were always outside but as soon as I finished school, I couldn't wait to get out. My old neighbourhood is now a bedroom community built for the car. Now, I live downtown in a major Canadian city. My house is very small and old but I wouldn't trade it for the world. I always see people, rain or shine, snow or hail. I see families, dogs, dogwalkers, children, seniors with canes. I love it because I see life. Living in a neighbourhood like the one in this video would indeed feel lonely and isolating.

Stop the immigration and housing prices wouldn’t have increased! But its too late now. And higher denisty increases cost, it doesn’t lower it! Look at the most expensive cities to live in in the world are high dense cities!

There is no doubt about it..she is a moron. But a lot of people say stupid thing when they are angry. Face it, generally speaking, Indians are probably the most annoying ppl on the planet. They might drive me crazy, but I wouldn't lash out like this.

My step-sister lives in Whitehorse and claims to love it there, so much so that she barely comes back to Ontario. I guess it just depends on the person. As for me, after having lived overseas for a couple of years in the UK, I can honestly say that there's just no place like home. Canada, like any country, has its issues but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else permanently. :)

This is even fall and there's no one out there... You wouldn't see an ant ? outside in winter. 23 years and counting and I'm still not use to this kinda living. New York and other big cities are the best places to live if you wanna live close to the style back home..

Quebec has gotten there by receiving equalization payments from Alberta. They have been coddled by the federal government for decades and think they deserve special treatment. They whine and threaten to separate if they don't get what they want. I wouldn't move there for the world.

Vancouver is brutal, in hospital as a single mother they wouldn’t let me get a house because there was no man. It’s like if you let your child walk a block they take it away. In my opinion there’s a lot of bullying to single moms. Can’t even get a job.

I've been living in Toronto my whole life and for me personally I wouldn't live anywhere else in Canada! I've been to Quebec a bunch of times but that's about it. Our Country tries to promote for Canadians to travel and explore our own country but it's stupid expensive. Why would I pay for a flight to BC when for the same price and time spent on an airplane just go to Europe! I go to Europe every year because it offers a million more things to explore. The other thing that sucks about Canada (though it's beautiful) it doesn't have a lot of major cities and the ones we do have are very scarcely separated. I love living here but if I had to recommend this country to a tourist, I'd say meh just go see the US because it has the same and more.

I've lived 2 years in Toronto. Plusses, it's all there, sports, theatre, music, amazing restaurants. Negatives I found the people difficult to get to know, I usually felt I wasn't breathing fast enough, and no mountains. I've lived 10 years in Calgary. Plusses, people are incredibly open and friendly, mountains, energetic without being frenetic, affordable. Minuses, very cyclic economy, everything always under construction with little sense of history or culture. I was born and raised in Victoria and returned here 34 years ago. Plusses, ocean and mountains, sense of history, laid back and friendly, amazing climate. Minuses, completely unaffordable (if I hadn't bought my house over 30 years ago I couldn't afford it today). Enjoyed them all but wouldn't voluntarily leave Victoria.

Yes we are. We went to a thrift store where they insisted they take my moms bag and put it behind the counter. They didn't say anything about my much bigger bag. My mom is brown, I'm fairly light skinned.. as a kid I witnessed a driver telling her and my sister who is also dark skinned that there is no more room on the bus (when Cleary there was) I went to get off and he saw I was with them and he let them on. If I hadn't witnessed it myself I wouldn't have believed it. What's worse was this driver was also brown. I've seen this from people who have grown up here or lived here longer who believe they have more rights than newly arrived people or those with stronger accents.\nI'm lucky I have a group of very welcoming people around me, but I've seen it with bfs and new friends who haven't grown up here and how horrible some people are.\nWorse when you're in your home country and being cast out when this is your home. (Sadly my birth country is no different)

It’s funny how young Americans currently wouldn’t allow anything bad to be said about Canada. Young Americans believe Canada is what America should be and that it is a perfect country. I always thought it funny how Canada built all their major cities along the Border, they literally piggyback off America. I’m from AZ, I’ve watched immigrants come up and get jobs and start businesses without even being able to speak English.

Like I don’t understand how long are we looking at before this country fails! The cost of living and housing is mind-boggling!!! I moved here. It’s been three years. It’s been all struggles and trying to catch up and then prices rise again…i’m literally tied to work just like majority of the immigrants and majority of the middle class Canada…it’s the best country to live in if you’ve never ending amount of money…like can you imagine that you get one life and majority of it’s spent on work…wouldn’t it be amazing to have a normal job and get paid good and have reasonable time off and go to bed without worrying about finances? In my opinion, a country where teachers, nurses, and people running this country can’t find a house or live happily, that country is bound to fail…i’m planning to move to USA…i can’t do this anymore

Of course it's beautiful, but I wouldn't come here at the moment if I were an immigrant. I have several college diplomas in Civil Engineering and Architecture and can't get a job in that field since covid took over the world. Same goes for many other industries, people would have better luck staying home and starting a youtube channel...lol But if you still decide to come here, let me know and I'll give you a tour of the west for free...

Just fyi, Ontario is the biggest province in terms of population size and not Quebec, and by far. However, Montreal (Quebec biggest city) is indeed one of the best city in Canada because of it's different cultural/shows events that are happening almost all year long, and it's very diverse as well. Also, in the western part of Montreal it wouldn't be a problem for a unilingual anglophone to live there because everyone is bilingual or unilingual English. Quebec city is also the oldest city in North America, a very nice place to visit and only 250 km from Montreal. If one is working in the financial sector however Toronto remains the real option in my opinion, but his way more expensive and so, so boring compared to Montreal.

I wouldn't dream of living in Canada. It sucks.

Everyone here is asking for the officers side of story. but whatever it is he cannot refuse to do the job he has.( in his privileged position of giving people visa he can’t behave so erratically and inconsiderately and blackmailing to not issue visa ) It is like a teacher saying student, if u talk back to me I will punish ur grades.. unprofessional and much more….. \n Even if the couple are in the wrong then he should have asked for proper assistance and be impartial. If couple were in the wrong the office wouldn’t have issued visa later on.

After Being an Employer for 25 years. I tried making reference calls to home countries. Most of the time it was time zone opportunities or they didn’t speak English or French. The other side was leaving messages for reference call backs and they wouldn’t call me back. I do appreciate your struggle.

Would Quebec still be the best if it didn't get the transfer payments from Alberta? No it wouldn't, because it has a non-existent economy. Alberta is Canada's lifeline.

I don’t agree with Quebec as a whole being up so high on the list. They have their own tax and medical system , much higher cost. You must have your children in a unilingual French School unless you have substantial proof that they have a solid English background. English speakers for the most part are ostracized in most of Quebec except some areas of Montreal. All government work places speak only French and there are no English rights in Quebec unless you work for the government of Canada and then good luck getting a job in Quebec as they are designated a unilingual French language speaking province for Canadian government jobs and you won’t qualify unless you speak and read and write French. All signage is restricted to French and the province doesn’t follow any international standards. Even the air traffic controllers only speak French which is why most major airlines don’t fly into Quebec as the standard of language for them is English world wide except Quebec. They have different road rules, tax legislation and pension than the rest of Canada. Wouldn’t want to live there myself. I have a sister in Montreal. Don’t know why she stays.

I’d love to visit Atlantic Canada: all my friends here on the West Coast say it’s very nice. \nI loved living in Quebec and Montreal, but both cities are very cold in winter—and I don’t speak no french too good, hoste! \nI’m from Ontario. it probably was a beautiful place until white people got there. But it’s way too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. Most of my family has moved out to the West Coast. I guess they missed me.\nManitoba is very nice, but you’re right about cold winters and lots of mosquitoes in summer. Winnipeg is a fantastic city. The biggest city on the North American Plains.\nSouthwest Saskatchewan is absolutely beautiful. Nuff said.\nAlberta is one of my favourite provinces—just too bad about the goofy government they got there. I lived and worked there lots over the years. Many Albertans have moved out here to the West Coast to get away from the horrid politics there.\nBC is by far the best place to live. I live in the steep rain shadow of East Vancouver Island, nice and warm, short if any winter. All my friends live here. I used to live in Victoria—we might move back there—it’s my favourite city anywhere. Vancouver is a blast—but too big for me. Ranking the best provinces to live in bases on statistics only misses the mark on what actual Canadians think.\nFor example if you were to poll people from across the nation, I’m very certain, Quebec wouldn’t be anywhere near the top of the list as best province to live in, especially considering their politics!!

It's a pity that Americans couldn't just move into Canada. I would have loved to move there. Lived in Michigan before I moved to Texas so the weather wouldn't even be a problem. I actually miss the cold and snow. I feel like the US is becoming a third world country.

Best Buy employees are always asking if you need anything. I wouldn’t say I’ve been profiled but every time I go to Best Buy there are at least 3 or more different people asking if I need help. I notice that they are trained to ask anyone if you need help. They don’t follow you around or nothing like that.
