The problem with this rant is that the flow of immigrants was going the other way for years and Canada asked nicely many time for NY to do something about the immigrants coming from there and crossing into Canada! Those requests fell on deaf ears! So Canada changed it's laws slightly and now all the immigrants that get stuck in Canada during the cold season are now flocking back to the warm United States of North America and Oceana. Serves you right! We Canadians have been far too patient with your bad behavior for too long. You reap what you sew.

As a Canadian I truly belive our gov in canada is next level incompetent and they don't think immigrants are a problem at all, if not a solution cause we have to give everyone the benefit of the doubt for some reason, indians are our second most common race as well as very much involved with our politics and police even though about 7 years ago there wasn't a single Indian in canada hardly. We also get mostly low grade migrants without much education and are advertising heavily to India and Africa to come start a life in canada for some fucking reason even though where I live average wages are about 45k and average rent is 2.2x higher then 8 years ago and most groceries are about 40 to 80% higher since trudeau got elected too and you make less money often times here for the same jobs so all that probably contributes a lot too to why this is happening

There's no chance that these people will be able to afford apartments at legal occupancy numbers even if they get a job. If they provide housing, the should provide it in a cheap location far from NYC. That policy would be a powerful disincentive not to come to NYC. It’s been so long about immigrants from different countries applying to Canada why only now that having this temporary visitors become a big problem???. Most Canadians cannot even have proper job anymore. They are left with leftover jobs and yet have to compete with them. Majority of Canadians have more credentials and years experience ahead of them yet they prioritize them. To be honest the massive flood of Indian immigrants and students is ruining the country. Jobs being given to people who will take less wage then a Canadian born worker with same experience, lack of housing for Canadians and immigrants. One thing I have noticed in Texas, which is a haven of immigration, is that every crappy apartment complex (unless you are a wealthy Californian they are all crappy) I moved into quickly becomes a haven of crime. I don't know who my neighbors are, and they do not want to get to know me. There is no community, no shared sense of identity or purpose. I struggle to keep my family or four afloat with health issues and the like, and they illegally sublet ten men to an apartment and thus pay nothing for rent.

As a Canadian, I do not find myself or my neighbours resenting immigrants but rather the lack of social planning (housing in particular) that is behind part of this immigration policy. Several new immigrants are leaving Canada within 5 years, finding it too expensive and hard to get ahead, estimates range up to 30%. At the same time many of these new immigrants are the hardest working and doing some of our lowest payed jobs, go in to Tim Horton’s and you will see.

Immigrants are there for the votes. Canada is at the whim of US economic policy, which I fear is going to get even worse when Trump returns to office. A transition to Conservatives at the Federal level may lighten the load on a few things like Carbon Tax, and Income Tax (maybe), but they won't be the party to introduce limitations and regulations on investors that are responsible for driving up housing prices, by treating the housing market like it's a stock exchange. \nI will applaud Trudeau on winning over the EV battery plant, for pulling us out of bombing Syria and Iraq, for legalizing Marijuana, and for including Dental Care in health coverage (albeit limited...), but some of his decisions should have been better thought through, like the capital gains tax, and should only be targeting investors that have more than 3 properties. While he increased the budget for the Military, he's spent his first two terms ignoring it and that's severely hampered our readiness, and equipment. And while I do think we needed to boost immigration to stave off economic disaster, the current level that its at is problematic, and many bad faith actors are taking advantage of it and enriching themselves like the diploma mills.

Canada is in crisis due to immigrants so I don’t understand why you keep coming. Of course Canadian people will not welcome you, our kids can’t get jobs because all jobs are filled with Indian students who agree to work for less ruing our work system. We have Indian people crapping on our beaches because they don’t know how to use a bathroom. Complete different mindset and culture. As a Macedonian/Greek Canadian, whose family moved here from Greece in 1968, I am now preparing to move back to Macedonia or Greece. I am also considering moving to Thailand, Vietnam, or South Korea. I'm 36 years old and I can no longer make a decent wage with my college diploma. So I have gone back to university, and I'm 2 years through my 5 year degree. Once I get my degree I'll decide where I'll live for the rest of my life, but it will not be Canada, that's 100% for sure. I plan on liquidating my condo and house to buy much more land and nicer property, with money left over, rather than just surviving in Canada and living on scraps. This was once a great country for immigrants and native citizens, it's now become some kind of cruel joke. The only thing I'm thankful for is my Canadian education, as Canadian education is highly valued around the world. Other than that, Canada can kiss my Greek ass.
