Stumbled upon your video and I can’t believe your ignorance when it comes to women’s rights and school shootings or mass shootings in general. You definitely need more than a little self reflection at how “living in a small town” isn’t the answer since a number of shootings have affected small towns and if your small town is in the wrong state then your wife, mother, sister or daughter won’t have access to healthcare. Ignorance is bliss though since it’s never affected you personally so who cares about the other 300 million people around you!

Well, i'm Canadian, (Montreal / Quebec) but am also a transsexual woman, and for the LGBTQ community, practicly all of the States are in the red flag. I can't go in florida, or Texas, or a lot of the States, because my life will be in danger... Well, California is open, New York +/-, and a few States, but you have laws to break us, if we are not into your religious team, we are in danger, even if we are, i'm a transsexual woman, i am in danger, and with Trump, we are more in danger in the States... The United States of America is dangerous, everyone has a f...k gun in there pockets and are ready to use it, and effectivly, the health condition, well, it's bad, how many people can't pay for health care, a lot, and they died... It's not just that, it's also the mentality of the Americans, you thing everything it's yours, the world is yours, but it's not true, we are only passager on this planet... And the American dream, can i laugh, it's a nightmare, be rich or die, wow... I'm not rich and i prefer to stay in the Quebec province, it's the worst place for the tax in the world, we pay a lot of them, but, it is so much more open.

Both counties are similar and I love most Americans. But the health care costs and the right to carry guns does it for me. If you feel that you need a gun to protect yourself, then it’s not the environment for me. Then politics has so divided the county that people actually hate each other for their views. Almost half the country seems willing to place a president in office that doesn’t believe in democracy. Scary future there.

Wish I saw this earlier. The sad thing is there are forces in Canada trying to mess things up (e.g. those pushing for more private health care) but thankfully people are pushing back. Oh and to answer the question, NFW would I ever move to the USA. No offence intended of course : )

As a Canadian, I wish we had the American immigration system. Allowing millions of people into Canada at the snap of a finger crushed my generation's future. No healthcare space, no housing, diminishing opportunities. America, careful what you wish for, you might just get it

Disappointing you rushed over a respondent's feeling about the abortion issue in the US as it is completely on point. Health care costs are one thing (actually huge) but when you're forced to carry a fetus to term against your will (would any man?) that alone is why no woman would put her hand up to head to your neck of the woods - for her own sake and for that of her daughter's and any other female for that matter (Canadians tend to care about other people not just themselves). If you want to know why someone WOULD leave Canada for the US, it would likely be for family; or warmer weather...but at this point you guys are on fire and family can come visit us here. We are blessed here for so many reasons (fresh water, beautiful country, health care, freedom to choose, freedom to be gay or straight or whatever you are) and while my mom was American and I have cousins and even a nephew in Florida, and I used to love visiting my grandparents in Vermont and New Jersey as a kid, the whole landscape of the US has changed to one of in your face racism, hatred against women, the LGBTQ and everyone who is not caucasian, not to mention the whole gun business. You guys have lost any appeal whatsoever no matter how hard you crow about how great your country is. Everyone knows the truth about your history and the politically driven obsession to cover it up by attacking everything from books and what can be taught in schools. Just enough.

They literally treat immigrants better than us. It’s horrifying being a Canadian citizen and watching someone come over from Pakistan or wherever the fuck and getting handed 35 000 dollars and a house while people born and raised here struggle to find housing period. This Canadian lived in Orange County CA for 10 years. I took my the 12 year old with me. I had been offered my dream job and was paid enough to have a good standard of living. However, I lived in an immigrant community to save money as I found many of the high schools were horrid compared to Canada. I had not realized the school to school inequality to be so extreme and my kid changed to independent study at home. So with a Canadian elememtary education, they graduated high school a year only while skipping no courses..\n\nMy kid had medical issues and even with good HMO insurance, we could never get a decent diagnosis until it had gotten so bad that their digestive system was so wrecked. I finally sent them back to Canada for the surgery that we could not get in the USA. It seemed the insurance companies kept getting in the way. And in one case a doctor went all religious on us. After 6 years of almost continuous pain they finally got relief for a decade until the prior damage came back to haunt them However, after a year of university ib Canada my kid went to a private university in the eastern USA. They have decided to remain in the USA and now in their mid 30s, they make really good money anf have top line medical insurance which pays for the ongoing care they need because of the damage caused by delays when a teenager. \n\nI found life in the suburbs of Orange County nice but the OC is not a good place to meet people. When after 10 years there, in 2010 I returned to Vancouver to care for my elderly mother. I had been living alone for 6 years by then and was offered the first job in Vancouver anything close to me dream job there. and I returned to Canada at age 59. I had been approved for a green card in 2008 but there was a 6 year wait for it to come through. But I noticed the racism in the USA start breaking out all over the place when Obama got elected. And it has gotten worse and worse every year. Especially with 45 enabling it so much. \n\nMy circle of friends in Southern California are mainly good people and not at all like what we call MAGA-hats now. Except one who thinks 45 was the greatest. Politically, the USA is on the path that Germany was on in 1933 and I fear for the US Democracy if the Orange One gets in again. Even my kid and their spouse have bug out plans to head to Canada just in case. This is why my kid, while having a green card has never taken US citizenship. Besides, being a Canadian has not affected things the two times they got security clearances \n\nWhile most Americans are good people, it seems that about 25% have gone just plain loco and care nothing about democracy. And appear to prefer the USA to be a totalitarian theocracy \n\nI was there long enough, paying the maximum FICA taxes for 10 years to get a small pension from Social Security and I have Medicare Part A. I can afford to buy parts B and D but I see no reason. I have even better coverage in Canada for way less cost. The USA has a nice warm climate in many places and I just loved that. But otherwise y'all have too many people who want to turn the place into an intolerant police state and to return the country to 1950s levels of intolerance, So in my retirement, I will stay here in Canada. Even though I could go and move in with my kid in the USA and get onto US Medicare.

No your education system is not good. You have a few good universities but your k through 12 is rated as one of the worst of the 1st world countries on the world wide education scale. Compared to Canadians you do seem batshit crazy. You let your kids get shot in schools. It makes no sense that you take away women's rights to save children but let them get shot in schools. So one right is more important than another!!! You let citizens die of rather simple diseases because of lack of health care. Not that there are not racist people or religious zealots but nothing compared to the US and it is shut down pretty quickly here. Many more of us are intolerant of that ignorance than US citizens.

The thing that sucks is that this is not only hurting the US but Mexico as well. I get it. People want a better life, but it shouldn't be at the expense of other people. They still have to think about food, housing, health care, and so much more. A strain on an already crumbling economy. I'm working for a company that has a Medicaid/Medicare contract. Seeing the benefits some people get vs. what they need and cant/can afford is heartbreaking. Sad

We made friends with people that moved here from Wisconsin. It didn’t take long before we noticed they were trying to recruit our friends and us that Putin should be admired, black people are less than, Trump is the best President. They had ideologies that were ugly. But they sure love our health care. They don’t get to hang with us any more.

I'm Canadian and worked in Dertoit for almost 10 years, I crossed the border daily working for GM. I've also done work in Louisiana, Indiana and all around Michigan. \nAmerica has some of the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. It's a beautiful country and has a ton to offer anyone with an ounce of drive. The variety you have in your economy is amazing, we don't have a lot of choice when we buy stuff, you guys have so much more to choose from, take restaurants for example, I've never seen so many chain restaurants in one place, we have a handful of them. \nFrom what I've seen, there's also a lot of poverty, crime and violence, but that's literally everywhere right now, even here in Canada, we don't prosecute violent crime anymore. The gun issue is probably the biggest problem...I always felt extremely vulnerable out in public, especially driving, because I assumed everyone had a gun on them, I seen so many random guns on people, it just blew my mind. I always had to keep in mind when I was driving not to road-rage...That's how you get shot. The health care industry in America is nothing but a business model designed to bankrupt people. Our system isn't great at all...nothing to boast about. If you have to visit the ER at any hospital, you'd better bring food and water, you'll be there at least 8 hours before you're even seen by a doctor. Our health care is free yes, but we're taxed to death here because of it. I do indeed wish we had a 2-teir health care system, I want the option to pay to get seen soonest. America and Canada have free(ish) speech. We're both being ruled by leftist loonies, but that's all changing in our next respective election cycles. Biden and Trudeau will be shown the door and we can hopefully get back to healthy debate and more conversation in society...Instead of automatically dismissing each other, vitriolic badgering one another and hating each other. We had unity for a brief time, we all saw it, after 9/11 happened. We put our petty crap aside and saw each other as brothers and sisters. That didn't last very long and we've been in a constant state of crisis ever since. The media has driven a huge nail right through society, and takes a blow at every single issue we face, making it Left vs Right...\nIt's unfortunate to say, but it's going to take something truly devastating, possibly on a biblical scale, for us to come together again.

Never would I ever move there. Move to a country with huge racial issues, gun issues, capitalism for health care and so on… Never. I also do not want to live around people who feel the rest of the world is beneath them. We see the attitude when Americans visit Canada.

I'm from South Africa where we have plenty of problems like rampant crime (that will affect you if you are ignorant) and serious electricity problems, to name only two. I have family who moved to the US and friends in Canada, and I would not move to the US. My kids are safer in school in crime capital SA because of the US gun laws, we can go to concerts with no worry for the same reason, we have freedom of religion and women are not subjected to religious-based reproductive laws (I do not understand why Tyler kept skipping over those concerns every time he came across them). We moan about our medical system, but people who cannot afford medical cover, which is most people in SA, still have access to decent medical care.

You may have Disney Land (and World) but I live in the original Disney Land which is Huron County, Ontario, Canada as Walt and Roy's dad and grandfather were originally from Bluevale, now Morris-Turnberry Township here in Huron County. Elias Disney went to school in Goderich, my home town (which is now the building housing the Huron County Museum) and Walt Disney confirms this in an interview on CBC Television and so does the Disney Family Museum in California and our Huron County Museum. 24 years ago this summer (July 30, 2023 being the date of this comment) Disney's parade made its way through our town's streets, I was 14 then. The Disney family even has some connected history with our salt mine, the largest operating salt mine on the planet with hoist shafts as deep as the CN tower is tall (roughly 553 m or half a kilometre or less than 1/3 of a Mile) and also had a sawmill, probably close to my first home as a kid outside of Holmesville, Ontario, but I digress.\n\nAs I have stated, I'm Canadian and while I admire some things about your country, I wouldn't live there due to the lack of regulations on firearms (I don't mind people owning guns but they should be qualified and certified with a licence of owning, storing and using them and prohibitions on assault rifles and even semi-automatic weapons) and the lack of universal healthcare. Canada could be doing better as we have those in government trying to privatize our system further and breaking the laws doing it but the Feds aren't really doing anything either. At least we do have healthcare but there are still private systems in place, particularly for optical, dental, pharma and other systems. So bizarre that you say 'most people will be ok with health care from their job' .. when the XXX hits the fan health-wise, the job is the first thing to go, then what ... all it does is tie people to their employer, another way for employers to impose servitude .. and its so expensive that people delay seeing the doctor and that can make health issues much worse before care is sought.

My American husband and I moved to Los Angeles from Montreal, because of the fact there was still a lot of live music compared to other places. It was a great 17 years of music but guns started to be more of an issue. Health care was big, and was going to affect us soon, and then tRUmp came in . We knew that the changes were NOT going to be for better health care, or better gun laws, or better immigration policies, and we moved back to Canada. Now we don't even want to visit because of the current situation re all the aforementioned issues. I wouldn't dream of moving back. And numerous friends have asked how can they get into Canada.The Canadian immigration site crashed when tRump won. if not married to a Canadian, most people would be rejected. i appreciate our system of government; tRump would have been tossed out early on with a Vote of No Confidence.

As an immigrant to the US, you summed up the issue very nicely. Another thing I noticed is that people who cannot get an h1b visa sometimes would go to Canada, get a Canadian passport to secure an insurance, and then come look for a job on TN visa or EB1 visa in the US. As an immigrant who comes to the US on a EB3 visa, I really hope that the US can prioritize employment based visas instead of family based or even illegals immigrants for the future of the country. One thing that makes a lotta EB immigrants scratch our heads is that why would the US government put all their efforts in taking in illegal immigrants and grant them a safe path to citizenship instead of taking care of the ones coming in legally first. Not to say the other group isn’t important, but it’s a weird way to prioritize things.

The only people who suffer are Americans. Instead of the U.S taking care of there own we’re taking care of illegals and Ukrainians what about us??????

Great video! US immigration system is soul crushing and very expensive. As a Korean Canadian (Scientist with a PhD) who immigrated to US in 2012, I was lucky to get my green card in 2020. Since then I sponsored my wife and my daughter but their immigration cases have been in limbo due to the pandemic and we are still waiting for their green cards. You made a great point about why many people wants to immigrate to US from Canada because of pay. It is true that same job in the US pays so much better but you forget to mention a few points that the higher pay in the US is not that much advantageous if you calculate the cost of other life expenses. Sure house is very expansive in Canada but it is expensive in the US too. I live in MA and the average price is so much expensive. Additionionally, important things in life are very expensive in the US compared to Canada such as Child care, children's education, health cares etc... Example: My friends from Quebec only pay 7$/day for daycare (~140$/month). My friends in Massassuchetts pays on average (2800$/month). My friends kids will pay around 2000$/year for university tuition if they go to an university in Quebec. My kid will have to pay around 10000$/year if she decides to go to in state university if not it could be more than 40000$/year. I know that health care system in Canada is not perfect but it is much cheaper. In US, it is so expansive. My daughter birth only costs us in Canada 100$. My friend kid birth in MA with a great health insurance cost more than 5000$. Without health insurance, it could go even higher. Now if you lose your job, you lose your health insurance so good luck if you become sick. Additionally, depending where you go in the US, they have a gun problem. Luckily for me, I live in MA where gun control is very strong. Anyway, this is just to tell you that higher pay isn't always better.

It totally depends on a persons perspective. Many parents happily stay with their children abroad. Coz people make life happy and place where u live. It doesn’t matter which place it is. Many parents just want to be with their kids they don’t care which place it is.

As a Canadian, the biggest thing that is an issue is no universal health care. The second big issue is your nut bar gun culture. We have issues in Canada no doubt, but overall I would prefer to stay in my own country. I have been to the US a countless number of times, everywhere from Vermont to Hawaii. There are some nice places and people, but the political climate religious nut cases and gun culture have even turned me off of visiting the US.

People in the US should be taken care of first. I can understand both sides here as my SO came here as an immigrant in 89 and had that not happened I wouldnt have had 2 of my kids. As a Canadian there looks like some great places to visit in the USA but i would never move to the US. The biggest issue in the US is Gun violence, there attachment to guns. Number two is health care, number three is weather volatility and more adverse weather conditions. Instead of one main government the US seems to have two which prevents any real change for the better. Money controls more government and political decisions than even in Canada which is already bad enough. The NRA controls more government and policing. They are seen as the bigger risk to American safety and security. I believe many Canadians believe the NRA are on the cusp of being the largest domestic terrorist organization and closure to a major cartel. Not even the military could control the NRA if the US decided to enforce new laws that the NRA felt would effect their financial, political or perceived control in the US. This is a big reason Canadians may not want to move to the US. To think there is a private military ready to go to war against their own people in the drop of a hat, reminding North Americans of the war between the North and South. There are beautiful places to see in the US, there are hard working and brave people in the US and i am sure there are more good people than bad but those with power, control and weapons have the great degree of balance. The US has a lot to be proud of and still so much possibility and ability to grow if it were not for those with the majority of power that is not being used for good or in the best interest of the majority of US citizens. Love the architecture and old districts and those trying to preserve the environment, farms, seed diversity and best of what made the US great.

There's not enough money or other cultural incentives that could impel me to to even consider moving to the US,. Lived in Canada while working in the US for almost 20 years. Sadly although I had many friends I was often shocked by the attitudes of my colleagues. They almost all looked at other countries as inferior. Racism is absolutely a thing .There was no curiosity about other cultures. I knew people that died because of their hesitation to seek health care. The school shootings, although maybe they don’t happen ‘all’ the time there seems to be no desire to fix that. The US is going the wrong way regarding voting rights. My town actually sends out extra busses if you need a ride to vote. The support of the LGBTQ community and women’s rights are also problematic. US is good if you want to get yours but I personally don’t want to take two, when others aren’t even getting one. I am happily no longer working in the states.

No never nada …Canada is beautiful. The gun culture in the U.S. is insane along with the refusal to create a health care system that protects everyone, rich or poor. Our education system in Canada is superior to that of your country. Our political system is superior to that of your country and although there are some loopholes that need attention, we on the whole can not be bought. I live in a province that wants to emulate your culture and I find it repulsive. There are amazing people in your country but the minority of misfits give you a huge black eye. My Grandpa was born in New England and one day, when sanity becomes the norm, I want to visit his birth place.

I would sooner take a swim on the surface of the sun before I moved to the states x.x\n\nReasons - I'm autistic, have ADHD, PTSD, I was also a (single)mother at 18yo, my child is transgender and is also autistic with ADHD. I have no formal education beyond grade 12 and no money to afford school and no credit for a loan. If not for the child tax credit and social assistance I wouldn't be able to live without my(former) abusive partner, I would have been stuck living on the streets.\n\nBecause the system was designed to help people stay afloat, not get ahead, I broke even and can now work a full time minimum wage job and care for my son in peace and stability. It's a nice feeling <3\n\nWelfare covers most all prescriptions so you only pay $5 for each regardless of what they cost.\n\nThe system could use some major improvements in several areas(dental and eye care being two of them), but it works for our current situation\n\nI only recently found out that the states doesn't have the child tax credit as a regular form of income for parents. I legitimately have no clue how you all do it. I wish you the best of luck and health TT_TT <3

Oh, hell no! And further to that, if I was visiting the US and got sick enough that I might need a hospital, I would do my damnedest to get back to Canada. I have heard Americans say that the healthcare is very good, as long as you have money. But I don’t trust it because Americans have been brainwashed to believe that the US is exceptional in every way (sorry guys, but it’s extremely obvious to the rest of the world), yet I have heard too many stories about things like people picking up C. Diff or other drug-resistant infections in hospitals there.\n\nI spent about two weeks in the hospital in February. You know what it cost me? Absolutely nothing. Well, I did have to pay for taking an ambulance later. But the hospital stay itself cost me nothing. Neither did the food they fed me in there, or the medication they gave me.\n\nMayyyybe if you guys got universal health care (it shouldn’t be tied to your job), and stopped shooting each other so much. You definitely have some better weather. Oh, and if you all toned down the religion a bit. Annnd stopped trying to play world police while simultaneously bombing other countries into oblivion to steal their resources. That’s been going on for far too long, and I don’t think the average American citizen even realizes it.

I was pumping gas the other day and met a marine who is so proud to be an American!! They are letting these people in where they don't belong and this marine who fought for America can't even get the help he needs for housing and everything else this brave man deserves everything he needs but lives on the streets in Connecticut!! OH HECK! No way, I would not move to the USA. I would move to many European Countries way before moving to the USA. First of all, our health care is a fact we do not need to worry. Second we do not have all your freaking problems with people that think Trump is a GOD given to them. We do not have religions anywhere near politics here. Yet I do not remember the last time I was visiting friends in the USA. But visiting friends in European Countries a few months ago, and going back again to visit them, yup going to France, UK, Germany, Austria and Russia. We do not get while eating in a restaurant: Oh! gosh again those americain that think everyone speak English and hamburger with fries is the top of the chain food.

Never Ever. I'm aghast at how surprised you are about the people worried about shooting. You keep saying just be strategic where you live. Government sells out it's people. Foreign policy is downright evil. Health insurance system is incentivized to deny you care. Religious fundamentalism. Insane gun culture that literally results in more mass shootings per year than days. Supreme Court actively trying to take away your rights. One of the top presidential candidates is an outright fascist with a cultlike following...... You couldn't pay me enough to move there. There are third world countries that are more safe and have better conditions if you're poor. I even avoid visiting there if I can help it. And I previously lived there for 3 years. I wouldn't send my worst enemy there. The country is insane.

I`m Canadian, and did move to the USA, then moved back to Canada. Americans are Taxed on every dollar they earn, most states have to pay Fed an State tax, Health Care cost is way to high, when they economy goods bad, it goes south really fast. America tax on avg 22%, Canada 15%, America state tax 5.75%, Canada 0%, America sales tax 7.4%, Canada 7% plus 5% GST, however you get the GST back when you file you`re taxes. The 1 thing I really like were the people, made some very good friends but, they are not very educated, most people don`t leave they`re state, because they can see the world on TV, so why travel, as I was told.

Yes, American citizens need to be taken care of first before we let any more people into the country, but let's keep thinking about this... Why are so many people trying to escape Venezuela? Could it possibly be the cripplingly sanctions the US has imposed on Venezuela for decades? There is no better example of how sanctions don't work and only make the population of the country suffer and not the leaders. Why are people trying to leave Mexico, which is a country where guns are 100% illegal? If you guessed violence from the drug cartels being one of the main reasons, good job. Now, why do drug cartels in Mexico even exist? To supply the gigantic appetite that Americans have. Where are the cartels getting their guns from? Once again the answer is Mexico. If you are someone saying Mexico needs to fix itself, just remember that they have the one of the worst neighbors ever. We have no problem giving Israel $3 billion every year and sending our military all over the world to bring democracy to people who never wanted it, but our neighbors to the south? Fuck em.
