I am a double hater cant stand Trump and I am a farmer, i dont use immigrants because i just grow crops that can be mechanically harvested and I have a small farm, But in the past I used to manage large farms where we had a lot of immigrants most were illegal and people don't understand why they're illegal It's because there is an arbitrary cap on how many migrants can come from Guatemala and Mexico if they wanted to come legally just a normal worker They have a 60-year waiting list so it's just impossible to come here legally. Most of these people are very hardworking good people that come here to work for 5 to 7 years save up money and then go back to Mexico or Guatemala build a house and start a business in their own country. \n\nThis year i begrudgingly voted for trump because for me the biggest issue is with the federal and state regulations that make farming much harder than it needs to be especially regulations on diesel engine emissions that cost me tens of thousands of dollars a year and many months of not being able to use my equipment that I spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on. And Kamala was the one who enforced the CARB emmisions standards that diesel engine manufactures have to comply with to sell into California which is the biggest consumer of these engines. \n\nLike right now I have my pickup truck that's been down for 6 months because of emissions problems and so many of the vehicles have emissions problems that the parts to fix it don't even have an ETA because they need to fix so many trucks and I have two other tractors broke down that I can't use all my friends that are farmers have a lot more and dems want to significantly increase emmisions standards in 2026. \n\nYou simply can't grow food at scale without reliable diesel engines There is no alternative The vast majority of food is planted and harvested mechanically in the US The bigger issue with food is not well illegals get deported It is will the diesel engines run to harvest 90% of the calories in plant them. \n\nWe have robots that can milk the cows most of the things that migrants harvest can be harvested mechanically and they are in other parts of the world It's just cheaper to do it with labor once that's not the case it will be mechanized. I would prefer to keep migrants here but give them legal working status if they have productive jobs and they pay tax.

Question from Minorities that are U.S. Citizens born here…..are law enforcement officials going to be able to profile us because we are of Hispanic ethnic group? Humanitarian Parole is being called illegal, but in reality the program has been used since 1956. It's not a Biden invention. People who obeyed all the rules of the program are likely to lose their lawful presence and be treated as criminals. First Trump's administration is going to be jacked up with little known outliers with controversial and radical ideas. That is what Trump is attracted to. His ideas of tariffs and mass deportations are deplorable. They both disadvantage the US instead making it better. However, the tariffs may as well be a scam to get companies profits as when Trump says 10% on item A, companies are going to raise the cost of item A 12 to 15% or so and blame the cost increase on tariffs. For deportation's, I hope most people realize that many working the fields as low wage labor are very well illegals, but they are hired because they keep food costs low. Raising all prices for the poor Republicans will not be beneficial because prices on goods can increase 15% or more but their employer is certainly not going give them a 15% raise to match the cost of living. So Trump has already made the business environment good for more profits by planning to make life more expensive for everyone so business can absorb the additional profits. Probusiness politicians help businesses make money and that money comes from households and the government. And making the government spend more means the government needs to tax more. But TRump is cutting taxes for the people that have the most money. And Trump raising prices with tariffs justs makes households poorer and business richer. Naturally, the stock market will record highs when all the indicators are that business will be making much greater profits from households when Trump takes office.

The penalty for Illegals should be financial, not removal. I don't think we should limit the number of immigrants, full stop. Yes, they need to get paperwork to be here, and that should be part of the process. If you're illegal, come forward and get the paperwork to be here, then pay restitution by an added 5% tax every year moving forward for every year you were here illegally.\n\nRemoving even 5M undocumented citizens creates an employment vacuum that will hurt our economy. You are either in the U.S. legally or illegally and if illegally then you need to leave or be removed. There are of course legally authorized exceptions, like for work so Democrats need to stop with the nobody to work in the fields BS. Secure the border? Yes. Prioritize deporting those who have committed crimes? Yes. But remember that the American economy relies heavily on foreign labour so the process of dealing with illegal immigrants needs to include dramatically increasing the number of immigration officials to get the productive, employed illegals some kind of legal status. The import tariffs are going to cause inflation. Taking away productive workers will further inflate prices.\n\nThen, of course, there’s the illegal immigrants who are entrepreneurs like Elon Musk. Elon had a student visa to do graduate studies at Stanford but he never signed up for a single course. Instead he created a startup. So he didn’t comply with his student visa and he was working illegally. Quite the hypocrite. Should Elon Musk be deported for his illegal entry back in the 1990s? There’s no evidence he committed any other crimes so perhaps not. But if not, then just treat all the illegals with the same consideration.

After deporting the criminals, why not offer those, especially in the workforce, work permits that can some how over time lead to proper citizenship and also maybe some kind of penalty fee for entering illegally. We need the workforce and additional tax base instead of some giant expense of a physical wall. Instead of spending on a physical wall, spend on more people to officially deal with the entering of migrants to reduce the illegal entries and potential criminals.

Honestly I think the real problem is a smooth path to residency/citizenship. \nIllegal immigrants want to do it right but the system sucks and takes way too long. I’m talking more than 5, 10, 15 years. \nPeople act like you can get it done like going to your local Starbucks. Illegal immigrants pay taxes just like everyone else and don’t receive a lot of benefits.
