How about letting these hard working doctors and nurses from other countries help out our health care system when in a lot of cases they have higher education and standards than we do here. Makes absolutely NO SENSE. But then again Libs don't make a lot of sense either. Trudeau venture singles, gets people in just long enough to secure thier vote. Then these people realize you can't live here because Libs spend like drunken sailors. The only thing that is Rocket science is Rocket science..

The biggest problem is that you can have dual citizenship. And there is absolutely no loyalty to Canada besides the ‘free healthcare’ and cheep education. You have people living in other countries for the vast majority of their lives and then touch base at home to suit their medical need, then take off and not contribute ANYTHING to the county. Then, they whip out their Canadian passport to be repatriated when things go bad in their Middle East country….

Canada's system need improvement. That's an understatement if I ever heard one. When the necessities of life are made difficult to acquire and the government doesn't do it's job to fix it, you don't have much of a choice but to leave. It's basic survival. One of the basic necessities of a functioning government are to make sure its population is fed, yet I don't see anything being done about it. Lots of talk. Absolutely nothing done.

this is scary. we don’t even know who we’re letting into our own country. and with everything currently going on, who knows how many of them are sleeper agents or terrorists sent to destroy the country from within? especially with a vast majority of them being fighting age men? islamic extremists, terrorists, all people we’re letting cross into our country FREELY, and supporting and encouraging BETTER than our own citizens?!\n\nmany of them hate the very country, people, and values they’re illegally entering and eventually overpopulating and mass influencing. eventually these same people will hold positions of power, and the sheer number of them is absolutely overwhelming and can’t be ignored, with the number increasing each day our borders remain open, and security and stricter laws aren’t enforced. and with the constant display of weakness and incompetence from our “leaders”, they may just be emboldened. i’m afraid that one day, they may just rise up and commit mass terrorism. looting, murder, are all possibilities. and with the sheer number of them, we wouldn’t be able to do anything about it. they would be the ones in power now. thing is, our country supports and helps the illegals who hate them more than their own citizens. it’s absolutely treasonous. the longer our borders remain unprotected and wide open, their numbers will only increase, and so will their terrorism. \n\nnot only that, but the amount of illegals we constantly let in and those who are already in, are absolutely negatively impacting our country’s economy, living conditions, population is increasing, many of which are illegals and are a danger to our society, their numbers increasing by the day and taking over our country from within and them holding positions of power, homelessness and cost of living is rising, debt and inflation also keep rising, etc. it’s all bad. \n\nmass deportations must be enforced, but even then, im afraid that too many of them have already infiltrated the country. and considering how our own government hates us and spends billions on everything else BUT their own citizens. it’s not looking good and has huge potential to explode into something terrifying. \n\nthis is already a massive ongoing threat in america, and the possibility of it happening here in Canada becomes more likely the longer our borders are open, and the longer stricter laws and more protective and security measures aren’t being enforced. canada must be canada FIRST with the safety, security, and well-being of our citizens FIRST. \n\nthough with the constant numbers, and the continued ignorance, evil, and corruption in our government, i’m afraid they’re already here waiting for the right moment to strike us. \n\nthat’s why above all, we can’t rely on our leaders to do anything or bring us peace. the only one who can, is Jesus Christ. the one who gave His life for us and gave us the free gift of salvation. all we must do, is follow him, pick up our crosses, have faith in him, and have a relationship with him. \n\nwe must all repent of our sins and lovingly follow him. that is all that matters. I am a 3 rd generational Canadian. I have resided in Toronto for 54 of my 55 years on this Earth. I see absolutely no logical reason to continue to live in this City. It has become Americanized, and not worth being here. Many who come here, leave. It is a shame to come to this conclusion, but as you mentioned in this post. It has not changed for the better.

The problem with Canada is that they don’t accept foreign credentials. You often have to start from 0 before you can get back into your profession. There are many many hurdles and often individuals will just decide to do something completely different from what they studied. \n\nAlso, Canada is super expensive at this point. Real estate prices are absolutely crazy.

Canadian health care is absolute garbage if you need an intelligent skilled doctor that can help you gotta go to the USA for Healthcare. Health canada is a bloated communist pipe dream that costs alot of money to working taxpayers canadians

I feel like the weather in Vancouver and on the island was absolutely glossed over. It’s worth every penny to live in a city that doesn’t snow for most of the year and doesn’t get wildly hot and humid in the summer. Have resided in America for a period of time...in a smaller community.. the Americans are beautiful warm people which I met..Canadians are quick to bias there opinion of america..if your free enterprising I had a wonderfully time there..and willing to understand Americans think quite different . It absolutely drives me crazy when many ignorant and self-centered idiots show up in emergency for very trivial discomforts and expect to be served immediately. If that does not happens then declare Canada's health system worse than any third world country. Well I had a kid this year in Québec, it was like 250$ for a single room or 20$ for double room or something. \nYeah some hospital would sell our informations to banks and diapers or food manufacturers... still cheaper than 3000$USD\nFor student I'd say if you are citizen of canada, it's like 10 time cheaper to study here than in US as far as I've seen.\nViolence is something really sad. I'd really wish that just guns were restrain for hunting and special forces, like police officer or body gard of gouvernment selected individual accredited to hold a weapon for defence.\nI've heard that in USA police don't all have to go through police academy that teach them how be an officer. Canada is not perfect by any means. Lots of room to improve things, and I absolutely love and appreciate Americans. Great folks. But, the fact that any person, rich or poor, no matter who it is, can go to the doctor as many times as they need to without getting a big bill. We do pay for little things. Like... sometimes you pay for crutches or special devices, but for the most part, you don't. It comes out of our taxes.\n\nPlus, couples get a year of maternity leave here. It can be split any way the couple likes. LIke... the mom or dad can have the whole year or they can split it up between them, part mom and part dad gets it. We have unemployment insurance we pay from our taxes, so if you get suddenly laid of from work, ,you get some money coming in for a while to tide you over until you find a new job. And the disabled can get disability coverage too.\n\nOf course, we do pay higher taxes for these things, but... I kinda like that everybody gets healthcare. NO, I'm not into Communism, but having social programs is great. And... um... we do have more education in Canada, and more avenues to get help with tuition.

I am a Canadian. I moved to the US in 2000 and returned to Canada in 2022. Until recently, the US, in most aspects, was FAR better than Canada. I was absolutely shocked when I returned as to how bad this country (Canada) has gotten. It is truly pathetic,!!!!

I lived in Texas for 10 years and I met wonderful people. But I was absolutely thrilled to get back to Canada and it's a cultural thing. I found American culture focused on 'winning' rather than integrity, so that laws and businesses and banks are predatory, and everyone is on alert/stressed trying to not be victimized somewhere. Some great vacation spots, but it's no way to live.

That's a big reason why our life-span is several years higher, and our infant mortality is much lower than the US. Because of the extra co-pay costs or because they don't have insurance and cannot afford basic medical care, many Americans put off doctors visits until they're really sick. \nDuring a routine check-up I was diagnosed with a minor heart condition last September. Was able to see a specialist within 5 weeks. That specialist sent me to a heart surgeon a few weeks later who scheduled an Arterial Ablation day surgery in December. (I walked out 6 hours later...) Lots of pre-surgical and post surgical testing and follow-up. As it turned out, the other side of my heart also required the same surgery, and by March that was completed successfully too. Again, multiple follow-ups and tests, and I've got a totally symptom-free outcome.\nI had a hip replacement a few years ago that went well and resulted in a totally pain free hip that allowed me to return to normal activities I could no longer enjoy before surgery.\nTotal cost in the US for both these types of surgeries would have likely been well over $100,000. The most I paid was for the hospital parking...\nIs it better in Canada? - Absolutely...!!!

I am Canadian, my husband is American. I moved to the USA 11 years ago. I live in a liberal state (by American standards) with little violence (by American standards). I like where we live and enjoy most of the people that I interact with. I would move back to Canada in a heartbeat. I must confess that I felt like I stepped back in time 20 years when I moved here - labor standards in the US are so behind the rest of the world (maternity leave, paid time off, job protections, etc). To a Canadian, US culture feels accepting of racism, violence, us vs them mentalities, gun culture, religious and political fanaticism. I still can’t get over how “normal” Americans think their healthcare system is…. most other countries think it is absolutely nuts! I have good insurance, but if I ever develop a serious illness….I will move back to Canada where I can attempt to keep my health AND still have a house to live in. On the surface, Americans and Canadians look alike - but I still feel the cultural differences every day. I’m sure that America feels safe and wonderful to Americans who grew up here - but it can be difficult for people who grew up with different values to agree that these things make America “great”.

3 years 3 months in the US and moving back in 2 weeks. The absolutely hardest thing is a lack of community. Add a very materialistic society, little social support, $500/month for insurance where youre limited to what doctor or hospital or dentist you can go to, all the red tape to do literally anything....its unfortunate. My mental health took a sharp decline, and a lot of other people are in the same boat.

20 years ago when I worked for a film distribution company here in Tokyo, my favorite film festival was TIFF (alongside the Berlin film festival). The film festival itself was great but I absolutely loved the city and even dreamed of living there. I haven’t be able to go back ever since but I am saddened to know how much it has changed?
