Good podcast .. ?\nI need an honest suggestion from you guys.. (some positive things are ..)\nI came here on PR with my immediate family and now we are Australian Citizens...(but not settled) ..\n I also have some good friends here and a good community interaction/activities.. but no family here ..\n\nAND ... my sister and my wife's brother family lives in Canada ?? (Toronto) .. my second sister also lives near Canada (means we can have a get-together on frequent basis , which is difficult if i stay here in Australia).. my cousin also lives there... Now my siblings are asking to move to Canada from Australia.. (I still can keep my Australian citizenship in that case)..\n\nBut we are reluctant/confused to move to Canada, mainly because of cold weather and for a new country challenge..\nBTW .. we have 2 kids under 10 years..

Why can't they come here legally?? My grandparents crossed the boarder and became legal Citizens. Followed the laws adopted the country and didn't try to change the country. They learned the language and worked migrant jobs until they found better jobs. They encouraged us all to stay in school and better ourselves. We are mostly all college educated and we learned so much from the experience. We didn't need hand outs and we didn't need loan forgiveness. The country is making huge mistakes right now and they spend like there ate no consequences but the real ignorance come in those who support the spending...

The number one cause of death for children living in the US is guns. This is per the US CDC. Canadians and citizens of other developed countries are shocked with the gun situation in the US.

The US simply lacks openness. Women’s rights, the LGBTQ rights, immigration, firearms, law enforcement; so many subjects which American and Canadian citizens think very differently. And it’s true that we can find cities who shares the same values as us, but I don’t want to be part of an increasingly conservative country. ?\nAnd for the good part of the US, there are trips! ?✈️?

Canada is opening doors to all these new immigrants but it's also kicking out own citizens, because of unable to find jobs that you like no matter that you are highly educated or afford the living expenses. If you are over 50 you will never get a professional job and if you are a recent graduate, even if you study and born in Canada, you can't get a job either because no experience. This is Ontario, this is our home country Canada.

I'm a dual citizen, the US has gone down the drain since I left in 1980. I don't even have a desire to visit. The country is divided not only racially but divided between Rep/Dem's. Why would anyone want to live there? Please provide an example of why anyone would want to live there.

THIS is why we shouldn't let people in Canada who don't share our values. People come from different countries and their values are not to increase productivity, create community or become Canadian. My bf is an immigrant and in his citizenship test he was asked if women were property. Future students, PRs and citizens should not be able to own more than 2 properties. Whoever says this is motivational and aspires to create wealth by causing financial distress to others should leave Canada.

My parents were snowbirds for decades. At the end of their stay, they owned a small place in Safford, AZ. I spent all my vacations wherever they were, Texas, other parts of Arizona. I loved exploring the US with them - Dodge City, KS, Tombstone, Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Capital Reef, Gila Cliff Dwellings, to name just a few. Multiple National Parks over their 30 years of winter stays. \n\nThe US is beautiful and steeped in history. We met some really nice people, and even loved a few of them (but not in a weird way).\n\nMy parents sold their place just before Trump became president (on purpose), and none of us have been back since.\n\nDon’t get me wrong, we have our share of ignorant and uneducated people, but most of ours don’t have guns. \n\nAnyways, I digress. Never, not once did we ever consider becoming American Citizens. Especially since Trump (OMG).\n\nWe love our country, even though it’s not perfect. We love our health care, such as it is currently.\n\nIn memory of Gene of Tory, AZ, a family friend, who was like a brother to all of us who knew him, who died too young because he refused to give up his children’s small inheritance to your healthcare system. \n\nEven though there is darkness, there is still greatness in your country. Sorry but it's actually NOT good health care by comparison to other countries including Canada. International studies and comparisons place the U.S. near the bottom in fact. Many countries, including Canada, have longer life expectancies, lower infant mortality and equal to or better outcomes across many diseases. America also has the most expensive health care in the developed world with millions not covered at all. No! Not a chance not when the USA is gun crazy and lets nut jobs run for leader of the country. You kill your kids for an obsolete amendment to your Constitution. It is no longer necessary tell the right to bear arms the British Redcoats are not going to invade you and take your country. I think the best reasons for people to want to live in Canada is for the safety. Laws of no violence and no weapons in public. Our rapid response of Police, Fire and medical (there are bills for the Ambulance and Fire response so we do get billed at times, which also can be brought to our judicial system and potentially the bill can be dropped). \nAll across the world people need safety for their families and Canada takes refugees in large quantities. Refugee families are given a sponsored house, vehicle, paid for bills (including medical and educational) and a paid food allowance to live in until they stabilize themselves with full time work and when they are ready they can make room for other refugee families in need. \nWe have a huge area of land that is underdeveloped and there are plenty of opportunities for work in the infrastructure field. \nCanada is known across the world to host friendliness amongst its free citizens. \nAlso we aid any country in need and are the first country to respond to any natural disaster world wide. \nWe have our flaws but we feel safe and cared for with those flaws.

Well, as a Canadian, I guess i'll pitch in.\nWould I move to the US? The short answer is no. But I will explain more in detail.\n\nFirst, I do not see any advantages to the US compared to Canada. Americams often tout their country as the beacon of freedom and the land of opportunities, but I don't feel that Canada is so different there. We're actually higher on the world freedom index, and its not like our economy was in shambles and everyone dirt poor... We pay more taxes, fine, but we also get more services in return, and that last part has the advantage to remove a big layer of worry. Like, for healthcare, I don't have to worry if i'm covered by insurance or not, or if the insurance carrier will drop me on some technicality. I'm a citizen. All the basic needs are covered; no questions asked (and the healthcare quality is not half bad. We just prioritize urgent cases over non-urgent; so if you go to the hospital for something non-urgent, you will wait, and more urgent cases will pass before you. Annoying when it happens, but I understand and agree with that in the end)\n\nSecond, I do see a lot of disadvantages. All the points raised in the video are valid, from the private-sector healthcare system, the gun control laws (or lack thereof), the social policies and legislation in some states; they don't agree with me.\n\nI think it comes down to some specific social and cultural ideas that are prevalent or at least present in a substantial manner in the american society. Bear in mind that I am generalizing here, not every american believes these points, but many do. I'm talking about ego, nationalism/patriotism, secularism etc.\nI feel that the US often has a really overinflated vision of itself. Like, the idea that America is the best. At everything. Wich is factually not true, but this idea also poisons the debate on many issues, and tends to limit social introspection that could lead to real advances.\n\nI've also noticed that the american basic school system is strongly patriotic. Everyone in the US is taught a lot about the US themselves in school, but not much about the rest of the world. Not great for open mindedness and introspection when you have little comparison points.\n\nAndlets not delve into the religious aspect. I've seen a poll somewhere where 48% of americans were AGAINST the separation of church and state. For me thats not only insane, its dangerous. It fits the individualistic mentality where people can more easily start thinking that their way is THE way. It creates a very polarized society much more prone to high volatility.\n\nSo, yeah, no, I wouldn't live in the US. I'd much rather stay in Canada where i don't have to worry if I get sick or hurt, if some agressive drunk idiot in a bar is armed, or if some fundamentalists from some religious congregation is gonna be able to try to politically force their point of view.

I am from Brazil, moved to Canada 9 years ago, now I am Canadian citizen. I was once asked by a American colleague why did I not immigrated to the USA, the answer is: it was not even in the list of possible countries. In fact it is on my top list of places not to move to. \n\nYou have a good insurance through your job? That only means you have one more reason to fear losing it or stay on a particularly bad one if you don’t have anything lined up, if you have a chronic health condition, then you are straight out hostage to your employer. Even if you do have good insurance your bills may one day go beyond the maximum and you still risk bankruptcy. \n\nIf you do go bankrupt, in any civilized country you can’t go to jail for debt, in the USA you can, the country with the highest incarcerated population in the world in absolute numbers and relative too. To add salt to the injury it is a country that did not completely make slave work illegal, it is still legal if you are not a free citizen and your prison system exploit that.\n\nSo it is a country that you can become slave because you got sick.\n\nThen there are the guns… the fact you think you are exempt of school shootings says it all, if you live in a small city it would not affect you? Are you really saying mass shootings never occur in small cities?! The USA is ok to visit but I’m even avoiding that for the last number of years. I guess I’m just not ready to see firearms on people in a line up at a store; knowing that many others are (legally) carrying concealed weapons. There are many other countries that reflect my values on individuals (women, LGBTQ etc), that would be a second choice after Canada. And of course, the healthcare (or lack thereof). I can’t imagine being in a country that doesn’t support the health of all of their citizens and not just those who contribute to the financial health of big business.

No, never. I would NEVER move to the USA. The only kind of weapon a citizen should be able to buy are hunting rifles and hand guns. Both of wich you need special licenses to obtain and can take up to 2 months to get. When guns are the most common way children die, how can you kid yourself it's not a problem. Especially when no other first world country has this problem.

I would not move to a country that thinks is normal for everyone to have a gun. Also, for some reason the citizen in the U.S. tolerate a government that does not care about its citizens, I require generous paid sick days, generous paid holidays, etc. \nAlthough I make a very good salary, I cannot tolerate seeing any human being not make enough money to live with dignity.

First I feel for these people. They want to live in the greatest country in the world. So true , I had the same experience when I went to UK. I had to leave my job for the sake of my granddaughter 's birth. Went to UK as my daughter was not keeping well . American citizens are standing in between people living in horrible conditions, and people who are trying to charge an arm and a leg for rent. Sadly, American citizens still can't really talk unless they know what it's like to live in a third world country.

Now we are staying in London for last 5months at our Daughter's home as she had expecting to deliver in March 2023. Here Government work to make life of the citizens easy and in India Government work to make the life of citizens miserable. Here road, transport, cleaning is managed properly, but in India total mismagement. We have everything in India. Good climate, good food, mountains, rivers, sea, Ice, but due to polytitics and corruption we have made India to live unbearable and our new generation doesn't find future and leaving India for best future for themselves and their children, but that don't understand that though they get British citizenship they are not British they are outsiders. You wanted freedom from British so you fought for freedom and now when you got your freedom you are leaving India and want to settle in their Country and want British Citizenship.

Why do people feel entitled to just cross boarders into a different country illegally then act like those against this are some monster. I feel for them but we’re is the order to legally process these people so they come and have a good chance at life and reduce the likelihood of them resorting to crime because of their illegal status. We do not owe them a debt. They (or any other migrant) are not entitled to become US citizens solely bc their home country is in turmoil. Sympathy can only go so far but when you try to invade our country all sympathy is lost. Listen... I'm all for helping out fellow human beings but it seems this person was blocking her way which you can see, and she explains that this isn't the first time he's done that! I work hard, I see development, infrastructure, support my community and even help those I can. As a Canadian here are my views on the problems here:\n1.Government waste/spending\n2. Insane taxes, we literally pay taxes on our tax here. When you add it all up the lower tax brackets after their 15% gst pay about 45% of their income in taxes alone. Provinces like Nova Scotia are disgusting when it comes to the tax they pay. \n3. Easy immigration, we should consider immigrants based on what they can do for Canada, we don't need hundreds of thousands who can't work or refuse to work. It's a strain on the system. The immigration also artificially increases housing costs.\n4.Government corruption, it's part of why the taxes are so high. It's also part of the recent hyperinflation Canada has suffered. Just look up Trudeaus WE charity Scandall or SNC Lavalin Scandal, some even say Trudeau was getting kickbacks from the vaccine which I have yet to see evidence of but I personally believe it. \n5. Politically illiterate voters and propaganda, here in Canada the government likes to keep it's people uninformed and how they do it is through propaganda. The Liberals have every major news source in Canada in their pocket and in order for you to get news that isn't influenced by them you have to specifically search for them by name, those include Rebel News, TFI Global, and True North. Almost everything else is incredibly biased, they selectively report the news and in many cases outright lie. This causes extreme political illiteracy in it's population.\n6. Housing rules, here in Canada there are some really stupid bylaws like the main floor of your primary dwelling must be 900sqft in some areas, plus building codes prevent cheap construction of homes. You could have a tiny home on piers and it wouldn't cost much but because of our laws and codes it's impossible. You need a proper foundation, footings, building permits, ad in order to get a permit you need to submit blueprints, etc. You can't just buy a prefab building set it on piers and live in it. That'd be too easy, that'd make housing affordable and the government wouldn't like that. \n7. Woke indoctrination centers, The public education system here is all about putting in regular kids and pumping out future Liberal voters. It's a mess.\n8. You can't defend yourself, In Canada you aren't allowed to carry a weapon for self defense. If a criminal breaks into your home you are supposed to do everything you can to escape rather than defend your property. Criminals have more protection under the law than the law abiding citizens. \n9. Low wages, because of immigration wages are low compared to the USA for most jobs in most locations\n10. Thigs cost more in Canada than the USA after taking into consideration currency conversion rates, even things manufactured in Canada\n11. The cold. Nobody likes the cold for the 4-6 months of the year that the higher populated areas of the country have it. The more densely populated areas also tend to be the warmest. \n12. Fascist leaders. It's no secret Justin Trudeau and the Liberals are fascists\n13. Governmental links to the WEF, you'll own nothing and you'll be happy or so their add said. The truth is Canadians can afford less and less under Liberal leadership which is no surprise since Justin Trudeau and Chrystia are supporters of the WEF.

How when this USAs citizens fund their country's destruction ?.. We need things but we blame each other instead of the politicians

The leaders of the Latin American countries should feel so much shame that it is so terrible there that their citizens want to come to America. Do you know how bad it has to be for someone to leave their home forever to go to someplace where half the population hates you because of your skin color?!

We are so litigious (side eye to John Edwards ) that doctors practice defensive medicine and carry high limit malpractice insurance (guess who pays for that?). Every decision is driven by avoiding lawsuits, not proper patient care.\n\nPost Obamacare, US health care is an unmitigated disaster at every level. We’re short on doctors, too. Many quit and students are losing interest—medicine won’t pay enough anymore to justify $500K in loans.\n\nWe could repeal every bit of Obamacare tomorrow and still not be able to fix it. The leviathan grew tentacles that released toxins into every nook and cranny of the system. Now that they have buried themselves in critical layers, it would be impossible to yank them out.\n\nI have a good PCP who is booked 6-8 weeks out. Specialists? Hah. GI, neuro, and derm? Nor can we claim to have eliminated racism. That takes time; it cannot be done by force.\n\nOur economy went from smokin hot to dumpster fire in a short span of time. Pre election, head hunters were shaking the trees to find job candidates.\n\nOur unemployment is up as are our taxes with the stomping out of the tax cuts. \n\nDespite the endless sloganeering about how the Trump tax cuts only benefited “rich” people, it’s quite the opposite.\n\nHigh earners lost their pet deductions and lower income taxpayers were quite pleasantly surprised when they did their returns. The cuts were targeted to preserve wealth for the middle and lower classes.\n\nI could go on for another 100 pages but you get the idea and I get crabby writing for free.\n\nI will leave you with the caution that it’s best if you doubt and question any data and any stats coming from our government. Those are seldom legit. If the data comes from a study, always look to see who paid for it. And how large the sample size was; how were the participants selected? Trump is the solution. All you iiiiiidiot Americans who voted for Biden and were mocking the building of the wall by Trump should be ashamed of yourselves. The states and Canada need to stop opening up the country for all immigrants. Let’s fix our country and take care of all our American and Canadian citizens first and foremost, then we’ll consider others entering and entering the right way.

They should be fighting this hard to fix their own countries government and policies. I know it’s hard, but it doesn’t make it right to illegally migrate somewhere else. I feel bad for a lot of those people because they deserve better lives but something needs to be done with work government to make the country more livable and keep their own citizens there by choice ?

I’m a citizen, born and raised here in the US, yet I can barely afford rent and groceries and have to work two jobs to get by. This enrages me. My country is so quick to kiss these peoples ass, give them handouts, have us pay taxes for these people to live here, and I just wish our border control was more harder on this trash.

If we think it’s bad here in the USA, just imagine how MUCH WORSE it is in their own country, for them to want to come to the U.S. so desperately. What I’ve witnessed, is that immigrants cherish the USA more than U.S. Citizens! WE TAKE SO MUCH FOR GRANTED HERE, and most are not even happy!
