Not that many people in the developed world are shopping for an alternative country. So I imagine most Americans and most Canadians will be content with their nation of birth. But as a Canadian, I have to admit I'm a bit scared of the US. The level of violent crime down there is such that _many_ (not all) people feel they need guns for personal security. American prison rates testify to a level of desperation and alienation that is _not_ appealing to me. I don't want to live somewhere where owning a deadly weapon seems like a sensible idea! Also, as a struggling creative/entertainment person, I can't guarantee I'll be consistently earning good money – there are plenty of lean times in my biz. I don't want to be repeatedly worrying about my health coverage disappearing, whenever work dries up. I've never had that type of anxiety in Canada, and I sure appreciate that. Btw, although the Canadian health system is a long way from perfect, I've always managed to get appropriate care, according to my needs, quickly enough, at no cost to myself. And currently, I really like my GP _and_ my specialists!

This is a show , and the world is a stage if you think that the US don’t have anything to do with this then I’m ……………. PROPAGANDA ….. they keep us hating each other with these types of examples , these ain’t the people paying low wages, cutting insurance raising gas prices inflation ….. ? they need you to focus on something other than the REAL PROBLEM

I’m an independent that usually votes Democrat, but the border should be a nonpartisan issue.\n\nAmerica is not like Europe. European countries are the sizes of states, and they have the European Union to cross govern.\n\nAmerica does not have a relationship with Canada or Mexico like any of the EU countries.\n\nWe cannot be letting this happen. I feel for the people suffering in Mexico, I truly do. But mass illegal immigration is not the solution.\n\nNo matter how bad things get in America, I will never just walk over to Canada and demand a job.\n\nOur societies have to function on a system, and that system demands legal immigration.\n\nWe have to do something, but when it’s a bridge like this…I don’t know what ethical solutions there would be. \n\nMaybe an electrical fence? The thought of a child being electrocuted because they were pushed into that fence is devastating to me; it would be heartbreaking to see anyone injured that way.\n\nWe can’t hurt these people, that’s not right. But we have to find some way of keeping them from crossing illegally.\n\nA wall, a mote, an electric fence—honesty, I don’t see how any of those would keep people out…\n\nIt’s just an awful mess. Forget Democrats versus Republicans. This is an issue every American should recognize.

I am descendant of Latinos, and I do not agree with this administration has caused. I met someone in a Walmart parking lot from Venezuela. He had been here in Atlanta for 10 days and didn’t know anyone. He told me he came to the US because Biden promised all Venezuelans asylum and therefore be legalized in the US. So I genuinely asked him how his country was, and he said that things were very difficult; not being able to afford basic things, so then I said “well, I’m sure that is the result of the presidents decisions, most precisely socialism/communism,” I thought he was going to agree and he said “no, our president and former president had good ideas and plans.” My point is that all of these people coming from Venezuelan are fleeing their country because of the negative situation that sadly is taking place in their country, however their mindsets have been corrupted by thinking they deserve to have “free” things. All of these ppl will be legalized and they will be able to vote very soon, so these ppl will vote democrat because they were given this opportunity by Biden. This is a very demonic man by the left, and sadly this will cause a lot negative results to the US. It’s too late to revert this, soon we will see the negative consequences of what this administration is causing to this country ?

Also, how about how amazing it is that supposedly balanced news networks never seem to balance out their reports by including such realities of the situation in their slanted propaganda reports.\nAlso, I see lots of mentions of large homeless populations in America as being the excuse of why America can't possibly help.\nYet, no doubt all these commenters likleu blane homeless people for being homeless despite how the employment is at record lows and employers are desperately looking for anyone to work for them. It's almost like they don't see how the effects of employers offering wages too low to support paying rent being mixed with large investment firms buying up all the Housing stock and enacting policies of constantly evicting current tenants to increase rental prices isn't a major component in the problem.\nThe reality is, the housing crises could be easily fixed by raising minimum wage to a living wage and restricting investment firms from using residential housing as investment stocks especially as one of their tactics seems to be to intentionally not rent out large portions of their housing stock to create a shortage in supply, this driving up demand along with rental prices.\nYou can't honestly complain about the homeless crisis while ignoring the fact that corporations are intentionally keeping rentals empty to drive up rental prices. I'm pretty sure that fits within one of the definitions of insanity.

Look, I'm all for helping others, but this is not the way to go. I live near the border and have had to chase people out of my property. I've caught people staring at me through my window (I live by myself, so I was kinda nervous) I don't care if people come into the country as long as its legally.

Honestly, I'm so sorry the people in Mexico are suffering but PLEASE don't come to America. There is not enough housing for our people AND theirs. There is not enough resources for our people AND theirs. We're trying to survive here too and coming here is making it harder for everyone else here in a similar position.

If too many Mexicans come over construction will be done too fast and there will be more houses made and then house prices will drop and this can't happen because I'm rich and I benefit off of limited housing. If hard working people start making houses at near minum range I won't make enough money. Such a slap in the face to homeless people who were born, worked in, and lived in America all their life. Where is their “free ticket” to housing and resources? America makes it hard for their own; especially Blacks, to survive. Always some kind of impossible agreement they want you to agree with to obtain help. As a Black American, homeless and disabled; worked low wage jobs here in America over 30 years; was blocked from receiving my full lump sum disability because they knew it would have been enough to buy myself a home; Have been homeless over a year now and can’t agree to America’s rules for fair housing because their rules aren’t fair for Black Americans altogether. America have set Blacks against Blacks; put them in positions to turn other Blacks away from houses and resources; but all they care about is their job. They know their job requires the impossible for many Blacks to agree to, but they easily and intentionally overlook it. How can I agree to volunteer or work if I’m disabled? I applied for disability because I can no longer work. And…It took forever for me to get that. My long, steady work history will prove that I’m not lazy which is used as their excuse for not helping Blacks. America will bend over backwards to help foreigners while we sleep on the streets. That’s the reason why they went out on a limb to employ people from different countries. They called it diversity when they clearly knew it was racism. They had rather employed foreigners to keep Blacks from progressing. America is reaping its seeds right now. Say good bye to America because it’s about to become a new foreign country to all Americans. You reap the seeds you sow. You must be fair to your own first, but you disclaim your own. ❤ And by the way;…..Reparations to Black Americans may be a good start in the eyesight of God who have watched how you treated us for so very long. I live in Toronto Canada and I’m sorry they keep letting people in , no one can afford rent, they say there’s jobs but it’s only for new comers, they get housings money and cars, it’s a sin that they don’t fix our economy first before letting 1000’s of people in , a lot of us are literally living pay check to pay check and barley surviving the immigrants are taking over..

McDonalds something most American people know …for one person only it can be around 15 - 20 bucks, in Venezuela, and I think minimum wage rn is around 6.15 bucks and if it’s good it can be around 20 - 30 A MONTH, now apply this formula to EVERYTHING, housing, bills, expenses and I think things in Venezuela for a little bit better not that long ago,so it was worst than what I just told you, imagine you finish college you have somehow of a decent life and for things you don’t understand and no one advise you of, next week your job, money is not even half of the value it had last week, imagine if it was you and your family, your kids…I don’t have kids but I know my mom would’ve done anything for trying and give me not even a luxurious life, but a kinda decent life, and I know most of people would’ve done the same, and not only for your kids, also your mom, dad, sisters, brothers and even YOURSELF…again, I’m not saying this is correct or it’s not I’m just saying at the end our surrounding make us do whatever we are doing….I get you not being okay with this, but try to be comprensible and not go straight into hate for this people. \n\nUnfortunately I wouldn’t imagine anything to solve this problem and I hope something better comes for the entire world right now …but I just doubt it…

Why are they not opening fire? I'm not sorry for your situation as we have problems here too. If you want to act like fools charging the gates to our border, that is an act of war and should be treated as such. One warning shot would have made them stop. If they didn't stop you shoot one person. If that doesn't make them stop, you start taking ppl out. We need to protect our borders, protect them from criminals, drug mules, and the like. That means we need to do a background check before anyone can cross that border. Not letting them in, giving them a cell phone, giving them a place to live, not allowing them to work while they sit there waiting 2 years for a court date. I worked for a Canadian company called Earls and all of the people who trained us were from Canada. I'm from the north east and have delt with racism all my life but these people were on a new level of racism.
