We need to slow down immigration and international students, find other ways to boost GDP other than tuitions. If we have workers shortage, we Canadians have to get out of our couch and start working maybe 2-3 full time jobs per person on average and works 100 hrs a week (the government can help by lowering income tax and payroll tax, and increase the property tax). Nothing is free, and we can't enjoy our benefit while not working enough hours (rn we are paying with our future economy)

This a new racket that is maybe about 7-8 years old or more when I first started noticing it. Yes. If you want to see it to believe it, come to Surrey, BC. There are so many brown students on the buses that you’ll have to wait 1-2 hours for an 80-person bus that has a space. Plus all the jobs are being taken, and I’m seeing so many homeless people on the streets now. No shelter space, and there won’t be maybe ever. All the parks are completely filled with tent cities. This is a huge disaster, bad enough that Trudeau should be removed from office.

I think Canada needs waaay more international students for real. Maybe something could be set up that they also build into housing as well some kind of newER 2024 program that is weaved into housing to help them get place to stay and also to build for them self and after school projects or like flow and around sharing renting and working making money whole studying. Canada is definitely smart enough to realize that they can set something up for international students to make things work on all levels.

The husband is not really Muslim he’s in a relationship with a Muslim and this has necessitated him immersing himself in the culture in order to have her parents agree to their marriage. He has done this very well. \nThe wife’s parents came to Canada for a reason and I’m sure have enjoyed benefits of a democratic country. But it’s hard to understand why Muslims expect that a fit into a Western civilization will be easy. My parents immigrated from Britain in the 1959s after WWII and built a comfortable life! At 72 I live a relatively comfortable life although I have spent all my savings and I currently rent! I lived in Spain with my much younger Colombian wife who passed away in 2019. My pension income is sufficient for me to live since I returned to Canada and I have better than adequate healthcare and dental care! The short story is \nTurd and the Turdettes were elected because Harpoons and his band of buttkissing bootlickers were self-serving incompetents. Now Turd, who has never been competent to be PM, which his long list of scandals should easily prove, is going to compel the election of another incompetent self-serving politician. Canadians never learn, switching from one idiot to another as the country spirals into the sewer. The proposed level of immigration and climate change options will turn Canada into a third world country? Maybe we can call it Turdland and then we will all be Turds!

I rent a room in Ottawa for maybe 2 months and when I left. I heard the landlord was imply in something very bad that they said at the tv. a few years later, maybe 5 years later when I applied for my Canadian pardon, the ottawa police wrote something about me like was i was subject in that event! I went to the police of ottawa and they said sorry we cannot find out who mentionned that because after few years the info is deleted or not accesible to the public. That affected my pardon. and when I saw thos crazy behavior of Canadian government and the peoples in Ottawa, that give me more reason to not go back to canada. I never saw so many crazy peoples in a country

It is not as this video says. It's hard but it's hard everywhere. In Canada you want to buy a home there are homes to buy. You might have to commute to work maybe 2hours but that is the price you pay. In Canada there are less guns and more health services.

As a Torontonian born and raised here it’s had a couple shifts in feel over the past decades. Around the mid 90s, there was an increase of gun violence, crime and theft in the city which caused my family to move out to the burbs. I moved back during the 2009 recession for higher education at one of the institutions downtown. At that time, there wasn’t much violence at all. We went out til the wee hours of the morning from Fashion district (Queen and Richmond) to Honest Eds (Bathurst and Bloor), to Yonge and Dundas square. There were still some homeless people then, but fast forward to now, it’s gotten aggressive. Instead of the homeless people keeping in their camps, but now, they have been displaced, are angry, mental health issues are rampant and incidents can happen anywhere. I think we have the right mayor in place now to make some positive changes for the social issues in the city and I am optimistic that we can get it cleaned up over time. For now though, I agree with the sentiment, come for a visit, but maybe skip out on living here until the social issues get sorted. You always have to keep an eye on the back of your head these days.

The only thing I agreed with you is the price of housing in large cities. Canada is still a great country if one is willing to work. I maybe living in a cocoon, all my friends and my children’s friends are doing ok with their jobs and finances. The really uneducated and uninspired would suffered just like in any other country. Canada is not perfect, but I rather be here than anywhere else. Btw, I am 70 years old and have been here for 60 years.

Maybe the renters need to organize and pay only 25% of their rent payments. LandGods cannot afford to evict if replacements would also only pay a quarter of rent. Also, like illegals in the USA they could house share without landGod's knowledge.

As a Vancouverite, I find it weird that some Torontonians claim Toronto to be Hollywood North. Maybe New York North. Vancouver is actually north of Hollywood. Toronto is a lot more east of Hollywood, than north. Toronto has a lot more in common with New York than California. Vancouver at least has similarities. West Coast, for starters.

I have hears bc is hard ro makw friends i lived here my entire life and i dont see it ? Maybe if youre an introvert its harder? My only issue is many of my friends move away or they are here temporarily. I rotate between circles but i also enjoy new people so i dont stick to the same 4 friends. Not sure if other countries are different ? \nI do tend to disappeae but i always return my closw friends all do this as well. We may not see you always but we do pop back up.
