I totally agree with your opinion on all points! One supplement - all of Western and not only Western Canada - is isolated. The big cities - Vancouver, Calgary.... not to mention provinces like Manitoba or Saskechuan are just forgotten by God. Cities in nowhere! Nothing around big cities and complete isolation! By hanging up for work! All this reflects on the relationships between people who live a closed and isolated non-social life!

Crazy to think such a large country with so much land and such little population has housing problem. Not all GDP growth are equal. Property speculation has been shown again and again to be at the bottom tier in term of net social benefit, medium to long term. Look at examples of deindustrialized economies like Hong Kong and the US, where finance industry had funneled money away from local manufacturing into shit tier activities like housing and financial speculation for short term gain, ruining the whole economy. No jobs, inflation, less spending due to unaffordability, all spiral down to worse standard of living for everyone.

Why don't parents form a social group of their age group to enjoy life. You have to find your own way for your problems.

It's funny how you're surprised that Canada has high taxes. It's obvious - it's social democratic state. Such countries usually have sky high taxes and shitty free health services and whatever free. You pay twice for free services - it's typical. Haven't you heard about it ? It amazes me how many people don't understand this simple principle that nothing is really free.

I guess age matters... If you move to a country so vastly different to yours at 60+ it will definitely be a struggle. Transport, high currency conversion and lack of social life are the main challenges.\nBut i guess the biggest plus is the close proximity to children. So you have to prioritize.

Not relatable we live in Edmonton and our parents still enjoy when they come here as they socialize with their friends too n everybody have to socialize and we have more winter then Toronto.it's literally one person perspective how they wanna see n live n no offence to anyone

We then value the warmth and social contacts we cherish in India, the independence we get doing our work without being dependent on the children to take us, Even the lady guest expressed many views that are so correct. My advice for Canada:\n1 - obviously LOWER THE TAXES ! ... this is basically a SCAM! ... 30$/h may sounds good while in reality is less than 20$/h because of hidden fees(Taxes) ... YOU ARE SCAMMING PPL!\n\n2 - Its utterly stupid to ask for doctors and architects when you don't have a proper vacancy waiting for them, make the immigration process way easier , as soon as a vacancy represents itself act on it and get the ppl in, don't do all the licensing/registrations ... all that over kill process slow the whole thing down , let them learn by doing !! ... that would get the ball going way easier and way faster! , just make sure immigrants who are willing to do it have a good understanding of english.\n\n3 - Easy up on the registration/licensing process , not everything needs to be perfect , let the doctors, architects and technicians work as Interns Immediately or even Pre-Interns .... that way you would have more doctors and no body needs to wait for 2 years for a fkin CHECK UP! ... that is sooo buzzer and I bit its only getting worse!\n\n 4 - try make organized Social events to allow people to socialize better with each other and make friends or families...\n 5 - for the climate, doing nothing 9 months a year is stupid! and boring! , u must find a way to make inclosed warm facilities for newcomers and residents to enjoy.

Clearly they need help. We should help them. That's what America is all about. This is all because of Bidens new border policy and illegal border crossings are down literally 70%. Amd you would think the Republicans and GOP would be praising him for doing something they wanted that Trump never did for them. Biden is a conservative, a republican a Democrat whatever you want to call these people. They all switch sides back n forth and want the sake things. We can't afford a roof over our heads. We can't afford healthcare. We can't afford school. The rich are taking all of our money and lining their pockets, the corporstions pockets, the military complex, the police depts. Republicans and corporate dems have been rerouting our tax money away from public education and towards private charter rich people schools for the last 30 years. Our country is in trouble. Rich people are playing monopoly ruining our economy and our society.

No, they do bring up questions such as where are you from and you respond to them then they ask you where are you from originally, they are very nosi and by many means want to find answers for their curiosity, in Toronto no one even do eye contact let alone to be friendly or socializing, if someone approaches you is not out of friendliness, it's out of their curiosity and finding out information about you. More and more people wont be able to afford buying houses. Younger generations are screwed, as well as millions of new Canadians. Our National deficit is rising and they always say they can’t touch social security, SSDI and Medicare the stuff we pay into since we start working so one day when we are old enough or hurt enough we will have something given back to us to help us make it through the rest of our lives and have medical coverage after working hard paying into it. How can they just let them flood our country and give them money and threaten that their won’t be anything left for social security in the coming years. FBA here, raised in Canada for 27 years, since the age of 11. Educated in Canada, I am Canadian but when it came to socialization and employment that was where the line was drawn. I returned to the USA 7 years ago. It’s bad in the states but Canada is much worse.

At the end of the day I think Canada and the US share a lot of common ground in a lot of areas. \nThe major difference in my eyes between Canada and the US is the competitiveness of each economy. The US is far more competitive and innovative than Canada. Canadians are more risk averse and seem to want to work for the government or a big company whereas Americans are more confident in themselves and would prefer to work for themselves and try to start a business for themselves - and importantly - want to have it become a large business. \nAs a Canadian I wish I would have moved down to the States and tried it out when I was younger. I'm too old to move there now... \nCanada still isn't a bad place but it is nowhere near as prosperous for the average person, or I should say the average worker, as it used to be. And Canada's economy seems to be deteriorating rapidly and being usurped by newly developing countries whereas the economic future of the US seems brighter due to the powerful innovation in the US. However the social situation in the US seems to be deteriorating more so than in Canada.

Venezuela is an extreme socialist problem. They control all prices and hijack the concept of healthy business functions. This causes essential goods like water, food, and toilet paper, even fruits, are totally barren from stores. Socialism there is a nightmare and no one is living life their with decency. Read about it before you judge these people. Try to visit these countries or learn from someone who came from there before you form a solid opinion of politics folks They don’t have the ability to use much of their “freedom” to “fix” things against a rigged system already (some commenters say they need to go back and fix their countries- lots of issues with this). Read up on how South American governments make it almost impossible for their own people to make decent money. Americans are very privileged and that is an understatement. The problem is with these terrible governments and even law enforcement who often get bribed by criminals and many dirty cops in some countries down there. My husband is from South America, and we know Cubans, Brazilians, and Venezuelans who beg America to stay capitalist. That’s why America needs to stay American, and refrain from trying to be socialist.
