Thai here. Used to study at US for 5 years. Got a job at a local mart owned by a couple of Thai elders. I was super liberal back then but after 4 - 5 months.... Turne out stereotyes exist for a reason. I don't like it but that's how it is. We didn't have enough staffs to keep eyes on every customers. And 95% of all the shoplifters are a certain specific race. \n\nThey don't even care about the cameras. While I am daily trying to pass the English test to be eligible for getting Canadian PR, these people just pay money and get PR easily. I’m confused about something. \nIf there’s not many customers in the store and they’re ones that are just looking around for almost 30 minutes and theres a bunch of workers, wouldn’t they be normal to ask “Can I help you” a lot because they are bored and actually want to do something helpful at their job...? \nI used to help in a library if anybody was looking for something I’d try to help them so that they could find what they’re looking for right away instead of wasting time. If I saw anybody just browsing or wandering around for almost half an hour I would totally ask to see if I could help them. Better to try than not help at all. Why get paid to do nothing? Isn’t it your job to help? \n\nUnless I know exactly what I’m looking for and I know where it is I will ask for assistance, it’s great when they just come to me so I don’t have to track down somebody myself. That usually takes longer.

I took it maybe years ago in a college course and I showed no prejudice but now I dont think I would get the same score because the experiences I've had since then and I try to keep an open mind by keeping my high school friends around me of many different races but it's hard

In the US they force companies to hire minorities. In many cases the minority is less qualified but gets the job PLUS they know a company must have a minority and don't try as hard to make the owners/company a profit. To hire them you need to follow a lengthy process and then of course hire another minority that to often turns out to be the same problem all over again. And of course should they be black beware of the NAACP lawsuits.
