Why do they feel entitled that they can come here and be given benefits. We can't help our own, the veterans the homeless, the working poor. I'm so sick of them. Stand up and fight your government for your rights. We Black folks did. We didn't run to another country for relief. With help from other fellow Americans, we forced a change. Yeah, people died, but we stood our ground and won.

This is America people. I am waiting to my aos over years and now im facing another backlog. If you are legal it’s really tough in United States to getting aos. But on the other hand they are so many people who crossed illegally got so much benefit besides aos thanks to tax payers including me. This country is completely broken system. Take a look at the Express Entry Programme. Most of the applicants have to get a master's degree to be granted a PR in Canada, but the US is more favourable on Family reunions or Refugees. Although Canada has its own problems, such as housing issues and a healthcare system that might worsen by increasing immigrants, in general, I think the US should learn something more on Canada's immigration policy which is on a talent basis.

Our politicians have allowed Canada to become a default destination for so called refugees who are more often economic migrants looking to benefit from Canada's largesse. With such massive numbers of immigrants and refugees entering the country, we should not wonder why affordable housing and rental units are increasingly difficult to find for the existing population and why our social and health systems are overwhelmed.

Make them the US problem. Canadians get all the benefits of US citizenship without paying taxes to Washington DC.

Aren’t the Venezuelans fleeing a war stricken country and cannot return to there homes either? I know when there is a benefit to negotiate many governments work together to find homes for those displaced by war. Canada has been run into the ground by government after government for 40 or 50 years now. Every level of government in Canada serves itself at the expense of the people paying taxes. All government employees have unshakeable job security, unbelievable benefits and pensions, and a total lack of accountability of any kind. Debt has been run up over this period continuously at every government level. In spite of the huge taxes, government continues to borrow ever more money to serve itself.\nI wrote a letter to then Prime Minister Brian Mulroney decades ago asking why the government was continuously running deficits and how did he expect to pay for it all? All I got back in response was a bull$hit form letter. Now with the liberals in government you can see the bloat in government and it's spending increasing even more than under the conservatives.\nThe most frustrating thing about Canada and Canadians is that they keep voting in incompetent and spend thrift governments. It seems that in Canada the dream is to get yourself a cozy government job and just turn into a taker rather than a creator. This idea seems to be very strong in new immigrants as well.\nCanada is done. Stick a fork in it and turn it over.

As a hardworking Canadian, it is very sad and frustrated to see how people just cross the border so easily from the US when my immigrant parents who held bachelors and PHD needed to sacrifice so much to raise me. They had to do labor work in factories. Those people who seek asylum will enjoy so much such as free housing, food and education support. All the services are coming out from the taxpayers like me. I have been taxed so high that I almost cannot afford a place in large cities like Toronto and Vancouver. In my opinion, Canada should restrict the number of people seeking asylum every five years. It should offer less benefits to those people as well.

And governments know this and prefer to have these folks come illegally because it’s cheaper labor for everyone.
