We need to start advertising to stop moving to Canada for the sake of the people living here and the people wanting to move here. My guess is that that won't happen because immigrating is a easy way to make money somehow and the politicians are profting off of us.

Too many drug addicts in Toronto. Need to move them and the supports to smaller cities in Canada and move them out of the big cities. There should not be social housing in Toronto at all. Most people cant afford to live in Toronto yet we offer free housing to poor people who are from generations who do not want to work and just have kids.

Before retiring and leaving Canada l lived just northwest of Toronto....the problem of Canada's demise is simple....poor government that decided to give the people everything they asked for but ignored the outcome.....but that's not unusual look at most countries that adopted the baby state option.... it's just not working

We’ve been here since more than a year now and we don’t have a car and we love the pollution free air here and the work life balance. If you live downtown, you don’t need a car as public transport is very convenient. If you don’t want to do things on your own and you definitely need the help from maids and so on, then Canada isn’t for you. It all depends on where you find a house. Very few people in downtown own cars. If you want to live a healthier life, Canada is a good place for that. We came in winters and settled with the help of relatives and thankfully it’s been good so far. Summers are amazing here. Job market is a struggle currently but it’s not permanent. And it is possible to find a job from India if you try for it. If you’re in IT, you don’t need to start from scratch. There are Indian stores almost everywhere and many Indian restaurants as well. You just need to find your place. And it’s an amazing place for plant based vegan people. Food quality is amazing and great safety restrictions. Healthcare also depends on where you live. If you find your people and friends and keep socializing with family, loneliness won’t be there. It’s better to move to a new country when you don’t have kids. \nAlso the accent gradually develops and there’s nothing to worry about. This place is very diverse and there are people with very different accents from all around the world. There is some struggle initially but it all depends on what your priorities are. Life here is very comfortable once you get used to the lifestyle here and the biggest thing is, work life balance and the quality of life. If you want to do things other than your job, this is a good place to do that. Kids also become much more independent here. Rest it all depends on what your goals in life are. Also one of the biggest factors is, if your partner/husband isn’t willing to help with housework or cooking, you can’t survive here. As simple as that. Many factors to consider.

You don't waltz into someone's home and try to make it yours, instead be humble, courteous and show gratitude for the accommodation. Canada has been my home for the past 23 years. I will consider myself as a successful immigrant, my son born in Canada is at leading engineering university. My wife fulfilled with her career. Hard work and commitment to live and let live will take you far. Your personal belief and ideology should stay in your basement. I Respect your decision, good for yours and Canada's future.

All the reasons you cited are legit. And you’re right to say that it’s all relative depending on where you come from. If you lived in Canada for a long time, you will probably cite all the reasons. But if you’re from another country specially from a third world country, Canada is very much better to improve their lives. For me, housing, expenses and weather are the most important reasons to leave Canada. It’s all relative.

The housing crisis in canada is severe. No one can afford the cost of living here. International students and mass immigration unfortunately, have become part of the living crisis problem.

I’m a born Canadian and Canada was once the envy of the world. Cost of living was decent and plenty of good paying jobs. I couldn’t imagine being an immigrant here now. Cost of living is skyrocketing and our government does nothing about it. We are taxed so high and get little in return for the high taxes. Though our healthcare system is free and We do have state of the art facilities and skilled doctors it takes forever to get treated due to high wait times and staff shortages. There are many people immigrating to Canada with high education and experience but Canada does not allow them to practice here because they were not educated here. They are forced to take lower paying jobs. Many young people are leaving because it just too expensive to live here and the political climate is not what it used to be. Growing old here is very difficult unless you have support from family or have a large enough pension account to live in a retirement community

Canada is no longer Canada. Canadiens are almost a minority in there own country. We have very large cities that we are a minority in. There is so much hate towards white people. FUK TRUDEAU. there is a major housing crisis because we have to many immigrants in a short period of time. The immigrants barley speak English if any at all and are taking over the schools.They are causing the crime rate to rise substantially. Canada is no longer a great country to live.

Canada’s perversely high population growth continues to worsen our social cohesion, cost of living, education, healthcare, traffic safety, crime, pollution, natural ecosystems, and the list goes on. Part of the problem is Canada only has two cities, Vancouver and Toronto so the cost of living has skyrocketed in both cities. Most immigrants just only know to go to these cities.

Canada’s cost of living is outrageous on account of ‘investment’ usually foreign, which is archaic, as ‘investment’ is NOT a ‘modern’ term, which means surrounded by a hostile force to besiege and blockade it. So many people move to Canada for easy PR and settlement. It it gets tough maybe an influx of people will find some other options. Even for those looking for an easy PR, Canada isnt an ideal option considering if you want to live with your parents which is gonna be really expensive and one person cant bear the expenses of other family members

International students ARE NOT driving up home prices or rent...that's a supply/demand issue (plus the lack of control government has on landlords and how much they can charge for a specific unit) and it's also a foreign buyer issue (yes Chinese foreign buyers, who buy homes in Canada but never move-in and use it as the home as a savings account). Not the international students problem, when the government of Canada DEMANDS THESE STUDENTS NOT WORK FOR MORE THAN 20 HOURS A WEEK and then watches them struggle to pay for rent (and therefore have to live 2 or 3 to a room)...yeah, don't blame the students. BLAME THE GOVERNMENT for bringing these students here, handicapping them by limiting their work hours (minimum wage at that) and then turning around and blaming them for why homes are ridiculously expensive and rent is unaffordable. Yeah, don't blame the government for it's inability to build homes...don't blame the government, instead, blame the minimum wage international student...it's going to be interesting if this actually brings DOWN rent prices and home costs. Which it won't, at which point, the government is going to be pointing fingers at someone else. Like they always do. LOL.

Never compare a country with another. We are all educated immigrants who decided to immigrate over to Canada. Im from India, Canadians ive dealt with for my last 10 years are super friendly and sweet people. if you earn less money then you don't pay that much tax for health care. I've never paid over 15% of my income for income tax and because I earn so little I don't pay monthly health care premiums they are just free. The reason I earn so little is because I have a 3yo and no options for childcare when his dad is working so I can only work when his dad is not working. As a result I get the maximum canadian childcare benefit (CCB). Although the main reason I haven't left canada yet besides family, is the clean drinking water, relatively clean air (I live in a rural area) and low levels of environmental diseases (malaria, hep B, dengue, zika, cholera, parasites etc). I keep trying to find a country that can offer clean drinking water and clean environment with decent climate and soil for growing food, and decent health care and work opportunities. If anyone has any suggestions for countries like this to research I'd love to hear them.

The federal government's goal is to attract immigrants who have the capital, income earning potential (skills), and desire to be comfortable in Canada. It's clearly not easy to settle here. My great grandparents had to build not only their house but their whole town (its community, services, systems), and I doubt it's easier for immigrants today. It's probably even harder, psychologically, because immigrants now are surrounded by others who've already settled. Immigrating to a country with a lower cost of living is probably easier, but Canada's peace, multiculturalism, nature, and growth policies are quite attractive. (I've lived elsewhere, so I can compare.)

As an American I have constantly heard how much better Canada is than the US. But I noticed a lot of things going on in Canada that made me question that narrative. It seems that people overestimated the benefits of Canada and down played the pluses of living in America. They did that in my opinion for ideological reasons because Canada has government healthcare. While healthcare is an important issue it is only one of many people should consider and they should consider them without bias when weighing the pros and cons of a country.

Tent living is normal now in Canada. Every park in every city is full of tents.

I'd be interested in seeing the raw statistics of mass immigration vs job scarcity and value. Living in a rural town in one of Canada's poorest provinces, it feels like businesses are relying on immigrants to work for minimum wage, which is still $15 BELOW the living wage. Since they can hire people for less, they will do so. There is also the issue of these international students relying on and clearing-out food banks. They're sold the idea that they only need $10k a year to survive in Canada, and obviously they can't, so they rely on these systems (that were already struggling as more and more people face homelessness and extreme poverty) to get by.
