Absolutely sickening. Why don’t they just go back to their country if they dislike British culture. Hindus like myself and Sikhs have integrated very well because we accept and also love British culture, others in this video hate British culture, clearly.

I get it this is a issue of religious sensitivity. I’m from Canada and we cannot open carry knives or firearms it’s against the law, even pepper spray is illegal. In the USA the law differs from state to state and schools and universities have their own policies. Usually you can get permission to carry a kripan in school if the blade is not sharp and it’s hidden under clothing. Schools are always understanding and allow it. Sikh or not, religious reason or not, if you openly carry a knife strapped to your chest to a crowded university like the guy in the video did some one is going to call the cops on you. Have some common sense. Yes, religion is a right but it also comes with responsibility.

Me bhi ek sikh jatt family ko belong karta hu( but not Amritdhari( I didn’t drink holy water) to me kangha kirpaan dharan nhi krta hu. Yahan pe punjab me sikh( nihangs) dharam ka galat fayda utha ke tanashaahi kr rhe hai aaj kl. Kisi police wale ka haath kaat dena kabhi kuch . I don’t think i feel safe with my own religion people(especially nihangs). Koi bhi dharam koi bhi religion kabhi bhi kisi insaan ki jaan se uper nhi hota, rules humaari safety ke liye bante hai. So plz follow your religious practices at your home( im only talking about the kirpaan/shri saheb)

As a sikh we are taught to stand and fight for justise for everyone. He was smiling because he was making big deal about it, instead of respectfully trying to reason with him. That's what I am upset about.

Ohh. His religion says they can carry knife. Can i carry AK 47 to college if my religion says i can carry it. Don't be stupid. Thats not a sikh college to implement your own religious beliefs. This is fucking America. You have to follow our laws.

Atleast indian people shud be ashamed.who khows for what this is for.if sikhs have not carried by order or hukum of sri guru gobind singh.for defence not only for theirself but for everybody who is week and unable to protect himself from injustice or life threat.this is not a talwar.its kirpan.who knows it.if it wasnt there with sikhs.than majority of india had been converted to muslim.its for holy perpose.not for violance.and shoud be used as last option.sadly now a days many hindus in india forgot the sacrifices of khalsa to save humanity.hindus and khalsa sikh use it as last option.and if needed he would sacrifice his life to protect innocent and weak

I respect the sikh religion, but what happened at Red Fort...how the mad men went berserk with their swords and all. Please respect others as well. Bhagwan ji will be ok if u don't carry the kirpan.

He’s sikh a place of education should know that this is part of his religion and most Sikhs carry a Kirpan. A country who is culturally unaware of other cultures but thinks it meets diversity.. disgusting

Sad to see a Sikh brother being charged for that .

At the time when this was made one of the necessity was when sikh community had to protect people of india from tyrant Muslims rulers but in todays age it does not hold the same value or necessity so can or should be changed for something less threatening.

Well many people unaware of the religious custom might get frightened, it's a real knife after all , people can't be blamed , specially considering what happens US schools. Also having many Sikh friends i know that , it isn't customary for him to carry the knife out of any religious obligation that too in a school. None of my friends do so , they only use it in special occasions like marriages

What are you complaining about? The Sikh expected that person to understand the cultural importance of Kirpan? It's not Punjab or India..

In Indian union,Indians killed 30,000 Sikhs in 3 days in 110 cities in November 1984. Bharat mata gasti sali

May be some day some real terrorist can dress up like a Sikh and carry a knife calling it a kirpaan..\nNobody would stop him .\nHigh time we should think more about humanity and less about divinity.

Kirpan is allowed in India but not in other countries. Kindly follow the rules of other nations. This kind of activity will impact the image of other Sikhs all over the world.

No disrespect to sikh brothers but Why u need kirpan in University?
|
| 2022-10-08 | 0 |

A weapon is a weapon. Whether it's used for assault or defence. Tats my opinion. If everyones allowed to carry it in there then it's ok. But there should not be any bias based on religion . We all need to understand that we are in a new era now. We have to reach on a consensus together for peaceful living. I am from India and I have many Sikh friends. But still, in all humility, If u have taken an oath to keep it with yourself forever you have to understand that you are not the same as everyone else, and it will limit you access to many other things in life.

I know that the actions seen out here in the video is kind of an extrem, but I believe whatever measures were taken it was for the welfare of keeping everybody safe in which my Sikh brother had no bad intentions but it was all an honest mistake. According to my understanding he could've worn the Kripan under his T-shirt.. no disrespect to nobody but I'm here with all my Love and Respect to all.. \nAnd He being out of India.. people might have heard or know about Sikhism but respectively being in a totally different country it'll be a cultural shock to some of its fellow country's residents and that too he is in an educational environment or zone where a lot of unfortunate events had occur in the past few years due to violence.. so taking these reasons and unfortunate incidents under consideration.. our dear Sikh brother did not do anything wrong in openly carrying a Kripan (knife) for it is his cultural right and had gone some kind of a rituals in order to carry a Kripan for self-defense. But people will still feel some kind of uneasiness when it comes to weapons seen in and around educational area or zones. \nSo whatever measures had been taken for the safty of all.. especially by the security as he was doing his job by understanding the situation. No heard feeling to nobody but I just wanted to get my point across regarding this incident. N I know my Sikh brothers n sisters will definitely come to an agreement of understanding in what I'm trying to say..

i’ve seen and knows so many nihungh singhs shastardhari openly carrying their traditional weapons in public transport as well as universities and everywhere none of them encountered in such situations because people knows about them who they are why they are carrying them. I myself encountered one time a white lady ask me in a grocery store why you are carrying a knife i tell her it’s a part of our religious practices you can google it and she replied i know that but u shouldn’t do it? then i just simply reply you know it and again you are asking why or to stop it si why don’t you google that what is the result when people try to stop sikhs to do so?

Why they are allowed to carry weapons? Today Sikhs are allowed to carry knives on the pretext of some religious symbol. Tomorrow some other communities will demand to carry explosives and guns. There should be an uniform civil law.

Gruesome insulting for every sikh , but where is khalistani supporters and so called Canadian indo Sikhs? who misguided Indian sikhs for some greed of terrorist funding from Anti National in India
|
| 2022-10-07 | 0 |
The problem is, he could keep it inside his t shirt and no one would have asked him to remove it. It is about the Sikhs and the Muslims that in the foreign country they become too sikh and too muslim so that other people get attracted towards them and want to convert. The cop doesn't know about his religion so what is he supposed to do
|
| 2022-10-07 | 0 |
Call sikhs for justice team. We will protect our sikh Khalistani brothers. Sikhs n muslims r brothers
|

I never thought what the police did was wrong . They did the right thing agreed it’s a Sikh religious thing, but come on have some\nSense ! In a college ! God wouldn’t punish you if you keep it at home ! It’s a weapon man !

Its so disgusting to read Indians comment that knife should not be carried by them. Like the sikhs have done so much for the nation and we as human should be the first one to be aware of why they carry kripans. Yet some idiots wanna show that Americans are right. Stop licking their feet!
|
| 2022-10-07 | 0 |
Sikhs don't know their own history here kripan was a sign of self defence and sacrifice and now they carry it everywhere as a sign of Sikhism
|

Only sikhs in India allowed to keep knife inside a domestic airplane legally.. that's India for u... Being an hindhu iam proud of our Sikhs... ?? This is our culture
|

Regardless of Sikh , hindu or muslim (religion)and their beliefs no body should bring any kind of weapons into the school / colleges ... ?... Bz it's not guaranteed that it would be not misused by the person who brings/ by the person who knows there is a weapon and take advantage of it ,thankyou .My self hindu . I have many beliefs but I don't carry anything inside school premises.
|
| 2022-10-07 | 0 |
Yes they deserve it , they have created chaos in India. Govt has allowed them to carry kripan of 10 Cm now they are carrying 2 to 3 feet sword and same they r using to create terror among common people. \nIf Indian police would have arrested him like u did , a same police men had beaten by group of Sikh community.
|
| 2022-10-07 | 0 |
Well never heard that any Sikh intentionally hurted or threatens or something like that did to any other human. That is only for self-defense, why don't these\n Racist MFS can't get it ??

It's absolutely disgusting how ignorant so many people are - many of them white and unfortunately Indians themselves. And then you idiots ask why Sikhs criticize India, you can't even support your own people. And these same white white people probably protect their amendment to carry guns like no tomorrow. Fucking hypocrites. Shame on you all.

I get it, he is religious. \nbut you cannot give one religion the rights to open carry a weapon. so yeah, I know Sikhs are very nice people, but they can just carry something like a wooden knife or something to satisfy their religion and satisfy the law

How is that us police officer supposed to know about Sikh culture ?♂️

The kirpan is a curved, single-edged dagger or knife carried by Sikhs.Traditionally, it was a full-sized sword but modern Sikhs have reduced the length to that of a dagger or knife due to modern considerations based on societal and legal changes since then. It is part of a religious commandment given by Guru Gobind Singh in 1699, in which he gave an option to the Sikhs, if they accepted they must wear the five articles of faith (the five Ks) at all times, the kirpan being one of five Ks

As a Muslim I feel pain for him. Becoz look at his face how much he feel insulted and traumatized that he did not do anything just he is following his religion and he got arrested just for wearing kirpan and that even kirpan is allowed to wear in all over world for sikh. And look at the University they just issued apology and they just come clear.
|

I'll be dead honest and say I'm slowly losing my faith in Sikh community recently, because what these khalistani Sikh guys are doing to Hindu community in Canada(or let's generalize to the whole of North America)
|
| 2022-10-07 | 0 |
Oh my God as a Muslim I understand him. This is totally wrong how can they do that. The kirpan is allowed to sikh in all over world.

This is a shit rule and it needs to change.period. move on from this idiotic religious belief? As if any religion other than sikhs are so safe that they don't require self defense. IDOTIC.
