This is very sad it is true it is the part of the Sikh community

Absolutely sickening. Why don’t they just go back to their country if they dislike British culture. Hindus like myself and Sikhs have integrated very well because we accept and also love British culture, others in this video hate British culture, clearly.

I get it this is a issue of religious sensitivity. I’m from Canada and we cannot open carry knives or firearms it’s against the law, even pepper spray is illegal. In the USA the law differs from state to state and schools and universities have their own policies. Usually you can get permission to carry a kripan in school if the blade is not sharp and it’s hidden under clothing. Schools are always understanding and allow it. Sikh or not, religious reason or not, if you openly carry a knife strapped to your chest to a crowded university like the guy in the video did some one is going to call the cops on you. Have some common sense. Yes, religion is a right but it also comes with responsibility.

Me bhi ek sikh jatt family ko belong karta hu( but not Amritdhari( I didn’t drink holy water) to me kangha kirpaan dharan nhi krta hu. Yahan pe punjab me sikh( nihangs) dharam ka galat fayda utha ke tanashaahi kr rhe hai aaj kl. Kisi police wale ka haath kaat dena kabhi kuch . I don’t think i feel safe with my own religion people(especially nihangs). Koi bhi dharam koi bhi religion kabhi bhi kisi insaan ki jaan se uper nhi hota, rules humaari safety ke liye bante hai. So plz follow your religious practices at your home( im only talking about the kirpaan/shri saheb)

At the time when this was made one of the necessity was when sikh community had to protect people of india from tyrant Muslims rulers but in todays age it does not hold the same value or necessity so can or should be changed for something less threatening.

Well many people unaware of the religious custom might get frightened, it's a real knife after all , people can't be blamed , specially considering what happens US schools.Also having many Sikh friends i know that , it isn't customary for him to carry the knife out of any religious obligation that too in a school. None of my friends do so , they only use it in special occasions like marriages

Kirpan is allowed in India but not in other countries. Kindly follow the rules of other nations. This kind of activity will impact the image of other Sikhs all over the world.

A weapon is a weapon. Whether it's used for assault or defence. Tats my opinion. If everyones allowed to carry it in there then it's ok. But there should not be any bias based on religion . We all need to understand that we are in a new era now. We have to reach on a consensus together for peaceful living. I am from India and I have many Sikh friends. But still, in all humility, If u have taken an oath to keep it with yourself forever you have to understand that you are not the same as everyone else, and it will limit you access to many other things in life.

I know that the actions seen out here in the video is kind of an extrem, but I believe whatever measures were taken it was for the welfare of keeping everybody safe in which my Sikh brother had no bad intentions but it was all an honest mistake.  According to my understanding he could've worn the Kripan under his T-shirt.. no disrespect to nobody but I'm here with all my Love and Respect to all.. \nAnd He being out of India.. people might have heard or know about Sikhism but respectively being in a totally different country it'll be a cultural shock to some of its fellow country's residents and that too he is in an educational environment or zone where a lot of unfortunate events had occur in the past few years due to violence.. so taking these reasons and unfortunate incidents under consideration.. our dear Sikh brother did not do anything wrong in openly carrying a Kripan (knife) for it is his cultural right and had gone some kind of a rituals in order to carry a Kripan for self-defense. But people will still feel some kind of uneasiness when it comes to weapons seen in and around educational area or zones. \nSo whatever measures had been taken for the safty of all.. especially by the security as he was doing his job by understanding the situation. No heard feeling to nobody but I just wanted to get my point across regarding this incident. i’ve seen and knows so many nihungh singhs shastardhari openly carrying their traditional weapons in public transport as well as universities and everywhere none of them encountered in such situations because people knows about them who they are why they are carrying them. I myself encountered one time a white lady ask me in a grocery store why you are carrying a knife i tell her it’s a part of our religious practices you can google it and she replied i know that but u shouldn’t do it? then i just simply reply you know it and again you are asking why or to stop it si why don’t you google that what is the result when people try to stop sikhs to do so?

Why they are allowed to carry weapons? Today Sikhs are allowed to carry knives on the pretext of some religious symbol. Tomorrow some other communities will demand to carry explosives and guns. There should be an uniform civil law.

I get it, he is religious. \nbut you cannot give one religion the rights to open carry a weapon. so yeah, I know Sikhs are very nice people, but they can just carry something like a wooden knife or something to satisfy their religion and satisfy the law

As a Muslim I feel pain for him. Becoz look at his face how much he feel insulted and traumatized that he did not do anything just he is following his religion and he got arrested just for wearing kirpan and that even kirpan is allowed to wear in all over world for sikh.
