I grew up under communism, so logically as soon I got away, was looking for a free and democratic country. Back then the West and Canada was a different country/ value system. No freedom left, the restrictions on speech is worse now than under communism, also the presence of the surveillance state getting more obvious. Covid tyranny should be an eye opener for everyone. It is a fair question: during the war in Ukraine, Europe provided a safe heaven for refugees. When are the Arab countries taking up responsibility when there is a humanitarian crisis? Why were Syrian refugees welcomed in Germany but not in Iran or Saudi Arabia?

Of course the Arabs don’t want refugees look what happened in Jordan 1970 called Black September when some Palestine refugees try to over throw the Jordan government after they accepted them because they were refugees ?.

They can say what they want but taking refugees is humanitarian. Hamas kicked this off and they could start by calling them to the carpet.

It is obvious to me that all of the problems that you mentioned have just one cause: Too many people. Canada lets in too many people, refugees, immigrants...etc. Just stop letting in so many people, then you will have more jobs, less expensive rents, and less crimes.
