What was ironic is almost everyone you spoke to looked like an immigrant or if not first generation Canadian. Yes immigration is way, way too high.

Trust is you may need immigration, but that is white European immigration, as it used to be back in the days. Give it two generations of mixing and the third generation will look exactly like you. Not to mention we share pretty much most of our cultures and will embrace each other.

International students have never received automatic entry to Canada. Actually they have to promise to return to their country in oder to receive temp visa. For me it was not the cost of living, because I could easily afford it. The city has changed too much, there are too many immigrants now, there is too much crime, too much homelessness. When you start to feel like a foreigner in your own country and the place becomes unrecognizable, then perhaps it's time to consider other options. So like you I looked at my foreign options and it was the best move I'd ever made. For talented, well educated people, who have the courage to move to another country, this could be the best move you ever make, with all kinds of unexpected benefits which await you.

Its a simple thing. Folks are trying to leave for a better life, they then got to know about Canada giving 3years postgraduate work permit to international students who studied for two years and, there are permanent residence programs you qualify and can apply for after getting one year Canadian work experience. This is what encouraged many international students to head in this direction. Unfortunately, half of about 800,000 international students admitted to Canada came from India (if i'm not mistaken), many of them had to borrow the money to pay fees or their family sold their ancestral land or used it borrow money with the hope that when their child who they sponsored with the money is done, he/she will be the family's hope to not only pay back, but help them relocate too. However, the picture is not looking like it anymore as the demand for jobs surged and many are not able to get jobs or can't find the kind of jobs that can make them get PR and, their current work permit is about to expire, which means they may be faced with going back home with nothing so, they are pulling every string they can to stay back because, returning will mean they are a failure and can even cause their family a lot of emotional damage. Infact, i have heard of some of them who committed suicide as they are not meeting up and are not ready to go and face the shame back home. So, what you are seeing is the definition of desperation!

Why are they still here? Pack them home immediately. Canada has a lot of other issues to take care of. These guys come into the country under false pretext. The quality of Canada is absolutely going down the drain. Crime is going up, too. Is this what Canada wants? Is this what Canada will look like in the future? The real Canadians don''t feel like staying in Canada anymore with such poor quality of immigrants brought into the country by the Liberal-NDP knot.

I like to go to Japan and live there so I will go for study there and then demand Japanese government to give me PR??? government is not saying no to you but government wants you to study the profession which is needed not fast food servers, security guard and truck drivers because for these jobs people are already here in Canada in tons. And when you saturate the labour market for these unskilled jobs then the corporations would have upper hands and they will suppress the wages and the living standards of everyone will go down. So don't try to become victim here I know you are Punjabi and I am from third world country too these tactics are old to become victim. Go study skill trade and build home for Canadians and then the government will give you PR no doubt. Indians have a very groupism mentality even within themselves although they are very friendly but for example, a group of Indians who are hindu and vegetarian will not welcome even other non-hindu Indians who may be non-vegetarian to live with them. Sometimes students from same study program also stick together and will not include someone from different program even though they go to the same school. But as a community they look out for each other in that way so chances of seeing immigrant Indians dealing with drugs and other crap that the white people do will be almost non existent. \n\nThe other ethnicities might feel threatened due to over whelming majority of Indians and they group together to voice their concern but those ethnicities are individualistic and don't care about the country or each other. They just get heated up in the moment as they don't see people who look like them. If Brampton was all rich white folks but still with a majority on the streets like San Francisco or NYC doing all sorts of crap , nobody will be complaining or make a big deal out of it. Apparently, that's acceptable.

I work in security and I’ve interviewed many international students who are looking for work. MANY (approximately 80%) are taking Business Management and attending colleges like Norquest College. Why are we not steering some of these students to different programs?

it's not just Brampton on. it's the same here in Alberta, there is whole communities where everything is for them , you can't even look at some neighbour hoods for housing because all the realtors are Indian and the sales are only advertised on their sites in their language and not for sale to Canadians. its a big community where we live and were being pushed out.. I drove by today out of curiosity. About 12 people sitting under a tarp huddled to keep warm. One was eating something and another had a what looked like a box of opened crackers beside him.
