Quebec isn’t so great for English Canadians who have their language right squashed by the racist Quebec government. Quebec is also subsidized by Alberta due to the unfair provincial equalization system.

I am a British Columbian who briefly lived in Quebec, when the army posted me there for basic, I have to say Quebec is horrible, outside of Montreal, if you do not speak French. I also spent 5 years in Alberta & I would rank Alberta as number ☝️ of all of Canada’s provinces. \n\nThat all being said, I am sick of this country’s politics. Furthermore, he is most corrupt in our history, & easily the least democratic or respectful to our laws and/or constitution… yet he has been re-elected TWICE!… because… reasons ??‍♂️ I do not know how dumb you have to be to vote liberal given Trudeau’s horrible track record on a laundry list of issues. I am personally done with this country, you stab veterans in the back & reward those who did the backstabbing… yeah, I’m out, bye. No one should be bothered with serving Canada, not worth it!!!

The reason people leave Canada within first 20 years is they do not have sizable retirement fund to enjoy comfortable retirement life after retirement. The reason half of that leave within 1 year is they cannot afford to live decently here until they find a job in their field or it takes many years before they start making a professional career and seeing the plight of immigrants of their community struggling in menial low paying jobs living in dorm rooms. These two ladies seems from east european backgrounds, these people have comparatively better prospects in Canada than immigrants from Asia or Africa. The reason skin colors make lot of difference. The reality is Canadian government is trying to do everything it can to create opportunities for all immigrants but unable due to racist white people. Just giving a job to immigrant is not enough, they must be able to sustain those jobs for reasonable periods of time. This is where Canada ls lagging. This is clear proof, Racism is very high in Canada. Just the valid proof is these two ladies open an channel and got 180K views within 3 months, they probably make lot of money on this channel. This is Canada. If they really have much productive jobs they will not do this.

I am Italian, lived in Canada for about a year 14 years ago, and since then living in Canada became my life long dream and obsession at the same time. I live in England these days, I work as a Linux engineer and I make more than I can spend. Still I am absolutely unhappy living here, I don't anyone, don't ever go out, I don't feel I belong and likely never will. Unfortunately immigrating to Canada is not an option due to the lack of a university degree, and going to school is really no option for me either. So yes, hearing about these stories of successful immigrants going back home makes me break in tears badly. I'd be happy to take an initial 50% pay cat if I only were given the chance.

Hi Jason-\nCurrently I am on a Work Permit and working in Canada. I received the ITA to apply for PR, I have a query on the medical requirements for my wife and child. \n \nBoth of them had completed their Medical in March-2021(5 months ago) for a Visitor Visa(long term) but they are still in India due to COVID, the Visa application is still in processing stage. Do they need to undergo a medical examination again for Permanent Residency or we can use the same old Medical reports for them. \n \nSince I am already present in Canada, I am exempt from the medical exam. Just wanted to check on my family.

I’m Canadian born but mums family is from Europe. \n\nIt’s seems like not a lot has changed since the 1960’s my grandfather had trouble finding a job for a while due to not having Canadian experience. \n\nIt took my friends 7years to become citizens here. As a born Canadian. They had to go back to school. Unless you are in the medical profession I don’t see why you have to go back to school. \n\nMost of our health care does come from taxes yes I can’t tell you how great it is that I don’t have to pay $80,000 per surgery. I have 17 over my life. In other places in the world that would make me homeless. \nBut the dental care has cost me a lot because of my condition. But even for me that is a fair trade off. (I rather drugs, dental would be covered) \n\nTaxes also include subsided things for the public, libraries, roads that fixed, reduced fares for public transportation, reduced health cost for low income families that’s not covered by the government. etc. Not all great but the health care coverage is great to not have to pay in full. I only pay $6000 in taxes at most a year. I have a low income. The more you make the more they will tax you because it helps get the services for everyone. That’s why you are taxed more if you make more.

This is so true not just for those immigrant applications. I had a vistors visa application and i was denied. My provincial and express entry (working visa) application has been in idle for almost 8 years. And i have multiple IELTS exam with OBS of 8.0 (min of 7.0) due to the fact that its expired. On top of that i have already exhausted Php500,000 around CND 12,500 of monetary resources for this application alone. And my sister paid Moyal a canadian agency CND 6,000 for the processing of my papers. And its already 8 years but its been idle that long. And i have seen Chinese people (from vlogs)coming into Canada getting their visa stamped with no read or write in english. And they land a job in Canada. I genuinely dont know how Canadian govt assess immigrants. Ive even seen a local dog (vlog) from our country come to Canada with no muss or fuss at all wih its application to stay in canada. Maybe i should just be a dog instead. Hmmmm....?

Nice summary of the main challenges. Reading some of these comments leads me to believe that if one is motivated solely by money, Canada is not a great choice for you as an immigrant. The number of commenters hoping to move to the US from Canada due to greater opportunities to make money while ignoring the real and substantial disadvantages of living south of the borders just emphasizes this. My family are immigrants from the US and we didn’t face the same challenges as immigrants from countries further afield but I do understand the differences between the two countries very well and can state unequivocally that moving to Canada was the best decision our family made. Lower crime, better health care (yes even with the wait times), a fairer system and a “boring” but sane political system more than compensate for the few extra dollars I would make south of the border. In terms of where better prospects going forward for children and grandchildren, with the looming threat of climate change, Canada wins hands down. Extra income means little if you have to spend all of it on personal security and health care deductibles. So if you are only motivated by top line items like gross annual salary, Canada might not be for you and you would be better off looking elsewhere and leaving that immigration spot open to someone who can appreciate the more balanced offering that a new life and future in Canada can offer.

Everyone want to sit in the office and earn money. Thousands of people graduate from schools every year and thousands come from foregin countries to work here in the office. Canada don't have so many companies like US and can't give everyone work in the office. And in the future so many office jobs will disappear due to the technology. Don't think to sit in the office and earn. There are so many jobs in construction and transportation and traits. Try them and become skillful and earn money.

Ask people who came here due to the war in their country or very poor country due to financial reasons. I don't understand people came here from wealthy countries and settled since very long long time why?

Lived there for 14 years on and off mostly bcoz had no choice to go back but all the time I was only hoping, praying when time will come that I will leave this country finally I’m out , thank God , truth is that there is too much hype about Canada in other parts of the world particularly in Asian countries , immigrating to other European countries is difficult now , the picture of Canada is being portrayed as the best place , it is a nice country to some extent but living comfortably is extremely hard , way too expensive , everything from groceries to education , it is completely out of reach for a new comer to buy a house in and around Toronto , way too cold , brutal winters , which are very depressing , problem is this country is mostly uninhabitable due to extreme cold weather , everyone is nestled in Toronto and it’s surroundings , very limited opportunities. \nCold Canadian behavior, I always used to call it Cold Hell. I can go on and on ….I’m happy I’m out from there. You can just struggle to survive , you can’t have future in Canada.

They steal your youth and money at the early stages, unless you are wealthy. Then the weather and the people will slowly drain you. Especially in Toronto. And I was born there lol. I finally escaped to China, but sadly had to return due to COVID. Next I will return to my parents home country Ireland. Then I can finally relax and not feel as scammed by the set up here. Where do all the taxes go? The infrastructure is basic and ugly, the metro is deplorable. Where does all our money go?

A/A. Great topic and information! Thank you! For you to say you’ve been here for 15 years and haven’t experienced racism then you’re lucky. I have been living here for 28 years (that’s most of my life, I came her as a young child). My sister’s and I have experienced first hand racism due to our hijab in elementary school, high school, after 9-11 during job interviews (myself and my brothers due to their name being Muhammed). Over time things have gotten better alhumdolillah but racism exists everywhere and many have experienced it. Where there are people that use racial slurs or acts of discrimination etc, there are many more that will support you and guide you. I love Canada and wouldn’t live anywhere else but to say it’s not there and every case is dealt with the way it was dealt with our London family, is not the case. If it was, what happens with them would not have happened. May Allah help us treat one another with tolerance and love as Islam intends it to be. It's true, fair system CRA do not take Extra penny and do not give a extra penny incase if someone paid extra they will send you back later. Yes surviving jobs are reasonable but it's very tough it's not easy for bugging. Other thing still Pakistani people's have all the showoff how much you will get involve in community you will get in debt easilly and its very hard for a person to stay in limit as of social pressure specially for Pakistani families.About crime and theft yes people's are honest theft and steal is less than under developing countries but when you live in congested part of city crim rate and theft is still higher and it is a fact good and bad people's are every where. There is cruption found here on levels from Govt to other but little and due to fair system trials people's get caught easily. Well, I doesn't take a genius to figure out, that, countries who have it well off due to many reasons, will continue to have immigrants pooring in, it won't stop, why? Local Brampton Mayors and Ontario gov never tried to put/invite some universities, hospitals and white collar jobs in Brampton, due to that Brampton became mostly bedroom community and all mix people started leaving city by seeing huge influx of South Asian population. Most people in Brampton are either truck driver, construction worker or labourer working in warehouse, while North-West part of Brampton is mostly young IT people working in Downtown or Mississuaga. I personally don’t know a single person who works in Brampton. But, still every Indian wants to live in Brampton just because of food & brown community. Now Brampton will become more brown and brown every year, just because there is no reason for other community to come and live in Brampton, no white collar jobs, not many hospitals or colleges or universty which can bring mix crowd. Brampton will be 100% south asian in next 10 years as most 50%+ new immigrants to Canada are from South Asia and every year 450000 new immigrants comes to Canada!
