Little late to the conversation, but i only recently discovered this channel. I can agree with the majority of opinions in general, politics, guns, healthcare etc are all better here in Canada. Sure there may be safe pockets in the US but that’s not typically an issue in Canada. You don’t need to strategize where to live here based on that stuff, but may need to take into account the weather as it drastically varies within Canada. \nMoving to the US would typically be based on a job opportunity and likely wouldn’t provide much choice in location - go where the work is and unless it’s opening a small shop somewhere or working in a rural setting, you’re likely going to be in a bigger city where the majority of the violence is. Even so, with laws like ‘stand your ground’ you could get shit anywhere if you piss off the wring person. In Canada, you might yell at each & flip them off, then you just walk away without concern of being shot. You might get jerseyed though. ?

Canadian authorities offer nothing but lies and misinformation when it comes to relocating to Canada, they offer all kinds of wonderous programs and relocation assistance to leave you high and dry with nothing - Canada is becoming an economic wasteland which offers no prospects and no future. Housing and rental markets are a joke. Health care system is a joke...... I spent 7 years waiting to sign on with a family GP. The employment markets is a total joke with wages being stagnant for around 10 years. As an immigrant your home country qualifications won't be recognized by Canadian employers and used as another excuse to offer you a pathetically low wage. Deporting this man is not going to address the problem. While not sounding politically correct, many many of these new Canadians who are driving trucks either don’t know the driving rules here, or don’t care. Just drive on highway 1 and watch. They need better training or we need more police on the roads to stop the poor drivers. I can’t count how many times I’ve been following a truck with two 53’ trailers and it’s all over the road and if you’re brave enough to pass you can see the drivers on the phone more than looking ahead.

I have had many interesting experiences at the Indian Consulate. But fortunately no one screamed at me! When my late beloved Mother passed away, I took the the tried and tested method which always works in India, my good friend had a friend who knew the Vice Consul at the Embassy, I was discreetly taken into his office, where I showed them my last Indian Passport, and within 20 minutes my American Passport was stamped with an Indian Visa. In the meanwhile my contact was engaged in a friendly conversation with the Vice Council. \nThe problem with our Consulates abroad are, they are understaffed. And with the growing numbers of our diaspora in these countries, they are unable to handle the huge workload. And we are not the most polite people on the planet. Hence both sides tend to get into frequent clashes. On the other hand I have been into other nation Consulates, here they all have a system, and an online form filing program that is user friendly and easy to fill out. Everything works like clockwork. In some countries the Indian Consulates do offer emergency services even on weekends.

The Liberal government will likely find some form of permit extension for about a year or 2, because to initiate any form of deportation will look bad politically. They will leave the problem for the Conservative government to deal with knowing it will be difficult to depart hundreds of thousands of international Indian students/temporary foreign works (and other people groups), and manipulate the situation to gain political capital.

I am speaking as an Indian, who lived and worked in Thailand for 2 years, and now will be moving to Europe on a specialist skills visa. Indians as immigrants have been a productive addition to any country worldwide, compared to other nationalities. But the only exception case is in Canada. \n\nThe reality is, in Canada, the majority of immigrants are only from a specific part of India (Punjab), and most of these people are deluded, uneducated and unskilled. You are 100% right, they are not there to upskill or even contribute. I can bet these people have not even lived in big cities in India itself, they come from villages and small towns and have never seen how modern societies or even cities work.\n\nI feel sad for Canadians because most of this is their government's fault. It is the leading example of a failing society, which attracts the most obnoxious group of people from around the world.
